  1. Btw, there is a way to see actual approval scores with Nexus mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/2 After installing it you go to your reputation tab and you can see how many points each character has with you on the console. You can raise and lower rep for each character however you want. I used it earlier to give Aloth rep of 2.
  2. No, that wasn't exactly what they've said. They've said that, for whatever reason, they decided to stop manifesting in physical bodies after Ondra killed Abydon. Too much collateral damage maybe? But they've discussed possessing godlike as a possible ditch plan if what Eothas was planning on doing would turn really bad for them.
  3. It's not in Arkemyr's Manor. It's in a quest after you burgle it. Just wait for Arkemyr's return, you'll get an invitation.
  4. I think he doesn't like jokes, seeing it being irresponsible. Unfortunately his disapproval of that is rarely shown by a tooltip.
  5. I don't recall where I got all of this stuff, but Duskfall was somewhere pretty early. Killer gloves you can get first from the crate if you didn't save Chitupec in the beginning, but I got them later somewhere else. Miscreant's Leathers armor is from the guy you can kill in Deadlight fortress quest. I recall I went there first after Fort Maje and then went to Neketaka (got Modwyr there), where I did all the quests available, after that it's all a random blur, sorry . Iirc, Stalking Cloak and Aldris Blade are in the Ashen Maw (main quest) and when play the game again I'll probably move my main quest progress there asap, because quest after that finally brings sense to all the faction rep gaining and exploring. Keep in mind though that most of these weapons are upgraded - some of these perks only appear with enchanting. Crit chance is what it is - a chance to crit on hit.
  6. Nothing, I'm glad I wasn't expecting much from POE2 romances. Not really surprised or disappointed by the lack of effort. And all the pandering is for profit - commercial companies don't work for charity and they'll do anything to get a customer.
  7. LGBTs attract? Well, I guess that's why I don't have any in my social circle. But if my player character is not LGBT why should he\she be like a magnet to LGBTs? Aand we're back again to companions being player sexual . Because I agree, all the options are for you. Their background being bi is just so you can choose whomever you like with either gender. There's no need to explain or justify it, it is what it is - pandering for profit.
  8. It's definitely a bug. But unfortunately devs are still unwilling to confirm any bugs related to the relationship system.
  9. Ugh, you guys are arguing just for the sake of arguing trying to nitpick at every word, knowing exactly what I meant to say at the beginning. But I'll repeat it again - it's just my opinion, you have all the rights to have yours. No, I don't like this trend where majority of companions are LGBT and don't care about any race restrictions just for the sake of trying to please everybody, it's very jarring and looks weird even for a fantasy world. But I'm not against some of them being LGBT and not caring about race restrictions. Anyway, it's a shame we're fighting over this instead of discussing how cool POE2 companions are, because they aren't unfortunately being rather shallow, buggy and coldly calculated by dispositions.
  10. I don't know what you mean by pandering but I perceive it as devs trying to please everybody - they don't want to see people going mad when some character isn't eligible for romance because the player chose the wrong sex and race.
  11. Uh, how does roughly 20-30 minutes of companion cutscenes and dialogues (which include not only romance, for that matter) out of 50-80 hour games translate into a datesim, I wonder? They make good "candy wrappers". But if you've ever looked at their forums and social media the most talked about thing are no "candy wrappers", but "candies" themselves.
  12. Their dense concentration in one place is what's jarring. It's a very tired argument in all recent BW games - why are there so many bi & gay people in your party? You can try arguing that it's a fantasy game, but actually it's not normal for any fantasy world, just for player party, it seems . Because recent BW games resemble pandering date sims wrapped in fantasy settings more than anything else. Too bad POE2 went the same way and it's not because of lack of money, it's because they chose to: https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/173771124776/before-deadfires-release-you-said-that-every The party that's filled with 2 godlikes (these are supposed to be rare), freed slaves, a priestess that captures souls in her lantern? Like you do realize your PCs party is made of exceptions to the rule right? So all these rare people on the boat is fine...til they're sexualities aren't straight. *Then* its an issue? Also judging from the brothels it doesn't look like there's any stigmatizing of sexuality so why wouldn't people be more open about it in the Deadfire? Godlikes, priestesses and all the other unique stuff of that world doesn't bother me as much because it is truly fantastical, without any parallels in the real world, so it is easy to suspend my disbelief about that. Everybody being LGBT around meis not, because in the real world it is not and I can't help by make parallels when I play. That's why it breaks the suspension of disbelief. Also, brothel is a poor example because it's a brothel - a place where people satiate any kinds of sexual desires for money. It doesn't mean hosts there are LGBT, it's just their job. But whatever, as I've said before, it's a very tired argument with no resolution. If you're ok with all that then good for you, I'm certainly not gonna judge your preferences.

  14. The correct term is "player sexual", because they also don't care about your race. Just imagine an aumaua sized Tekehu and an orlan...At least there's no awkwardly cringy animations of this stuff like it was with dwarves and tall companions in Dragon Age I'm so tired of people using playersexual improperly. Takehu isn't playersexual. He very blatantly tells you he's down for anything (as is Serafan for that matter). Aloth is Aloth ((hell does he even show attraction to anyone?) and Xoti hits on every single person in the party just about that's not Pallegina. How are they playersexual? Not caring about the PCs race does not equal playersexual. Being playersexual requires they show no attraction to anyone of the PCs race/gender other than the PC. They are because they all want player character regardless of race or gender. What they say in the background are just blurbs that are there for you to stop questioning devs lazy writing. They could have wrote them more nuanced - some female specific, some male specific, some race specific. But instead it's all the same for them whom to bang which not only smells of pandering but also destroys any suspense of disbelief even for a fantasy game. It's like DAO2 all over again, but even worse.
  15. My best tips: 1) Collect loot from every single body then sell everything you won't use. 2) Raid all hostile/uniquely named ships for loot and collect their bounties. At the end of the game I had the best ship with best equipment, bought all the expensive stuff that I wanted from vendors, upgraded most of my gear (some ingredients are hard to come by) and still ended up with around 150K of cash.

  17. I went full on dual wielding melee assassin, because for me style trumps meta (inconceivable for some, I'm sure ). So I wasn't looking for anything specifically optimized for max damage, but nevertheless collected some good gear that rocked:
  18. Not sure why they decided to blueball people with Eder but I understood why Pallegina's not interested. The Republics are her everything (children, spouse, you name it), so she's already taken, so to speak, and she really hates being a godlike so that's why she hates Hylea and other gods for being responsible for that. Btw, in one of the dialogues with the gods they were contemplating about inhabiting their respective godlikes if **** really hits the fan, allegedly destroying personalities (souls?) that inhabit them now. Just more firewood for Pallegina's hate pyre, I suppose
  19. People just assumed she was a sidekick because her portrait in the beta wasn't simply watercolored like the rest of the npcs but was normal like with companions. But it turns out that there are other such normal portraits of other npcs as well. My guess is the artist created normal portraits first (perhaps only for important npcs) and then redrew them as watercolored and then somebody forgot to remove the normal ones.
  20. That's just speculation with no evidence. And those druids worshiped the artificial gods, just like the rest of Eora, so they were doing their rituals within the system. That much is implied in POE 2, yes. No, it is stated in POE2 that with the Wheel broken there will be no rebirths, souls will go to the Beyond and won't return. And sooner or later Eora will be void of life, because souls won't return to inhabit the bodies. So it's very ****ed up now thanks to Eothas. And yes, somebody will have to fix the Wheel pretty quickly or everything will die out. Eothas called it as his test to kith. What a douche . No, it is stated in one of the dialogues with the gods that they still could but decided not to inhabit physical bodies anymore after Ondra killed Abydon. Too afraid to start killing each other again? Kinda weak point considering Eothas threatened their whole existence. And now they're ****ed too because breaking the Wheel also broke the In-Between from which they siphoned souls to sustain themselves.
  21. I turned that thing off in AI for Pallegina as soon as I saw how quickly it drained her health, got bored of healing and resing her. Looks broken.
  22. You should try them out. Gambit is good and invisibility ones are a must for assassin. I mean low to mid games, and I tested that ability it is OK, not that impressive as you said. Well, if you did it only for testing in some starting areas it may feel less worthy. But if you play it seriously, collecting gear that synergizes with rogue's abilities then you'd get much greater damage output. I'm not saying rogue is better than any other class because I haven't tested any yet besides companions, but it's damn well impressive. And it's fun to play - and that's all that matters to me, personally, not searching for the most broken op class that steamrolls POTD or busts. Btw, in my playthrough rogue did most everything - crits, hits, kills, you name it. In any case, the whole point of this thread was to say that rouge is very far from trash people assumed he'd be during the beta and, imho, is even better and more fun to play than his POE1 version.
  23. It was mentioned in POE1 that Engwithans searched for the real gods and found none, so they've decided to create them. Though they may be artificial ones but they're very real at least.
