Endgame bug
Messier-31 replied to cheesevillain's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Beats me. But developers tend to forget parts of their lore, have contradicting ideas. For me he's confused. -
Hey, does anyone know how many times you get a chance to betray your alliance in Act 2 ? Been thinking about doing so as late as possible...

Endgame bug
Messier-31 replied to cheesevillain's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I think Josh must be confusing the words "pledge" with "earn favor". Being able to survive the fall was always a matter of finishing the quest of a god, and making a promise was always optional. It is so because there was a possibility to get the Wael's Boon in Sun in Shadow, only when you didn't make any promises earlier. This boon was cut from the game (still present in the files, though, and accesible through console commands), but if your character doesn't want to make any promises (thus he/she gets no boon) then you don't have to make any promises. This way you are free to choose the desired ending regarding the souls of the Hollowborn without any repercussions of breaking an oath to a god, because you haven't got any. Simple as that. -
How to travel to caed nuir?
Messier-31 replied to LawfulGood's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You're not familiar with BG, I can tell. Explore all the exits: north, south, east, west. This is the way to unlock a neighbouring location. You have to travel through some locations in-between Gilded Vale and Caed Nua. -

You don't have to pledge to a god. It's optional. All you need to do is earn a god's favor by finishing a quest given to you by a god. Two separate things. -
Definitive Edition
Messier-31 replied to a topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Not necessarily. If you have a Royal Edition with all the goodies that come with it, then yes. After getting the Deadfire Pack, you will have the Definitive edition. Et voilĂ ! If you have a lesser edition (e.g. Hero) thus less goodies that come with it, then no. After getting the Deadfire pack you still have the Hero edition + the Deadfire stuff. -

What a great advise! If what you're saying is true (and it clearly is) this means old cars are *exactly* the same as old games, and old books, and old music records, and old movies. How stupid I was when I thought my son will want to see Star Wars (1977) or Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). He should totally watch something from this year, 2016 tops!

Basically: Magran conspired with Woedica for reasons unknown in order to kill Eothas Durance was among the dozen who created the Godhammer bomb Magran wanted all of the dozen dead, because of them being the loose ends Presumably all of the dozen died in the blast, but it turns out that by some twist of fate Durance was the sole survivor Magran stops communicating with Durance, even though he did everything she asked Durance thinks that he must've done something wrong and Magran is angry at him, tries to get back to her (even though he is a **** about it) The blast however changed something in his soul, Magran could no longer see him as her cleric: Durance was merely a blurred figure for Magran since then - this is why she no longer speaks to him (it is revealed in Teir Evron conversations if you have Durance in your party) You can convince Durance that he was "betrayed" by his goddess
