I wonder why they don't make it clear on the boards that the patch is totally unnecessary for US gamers - it would save a lot of people a lot of confusion! (Of course, I think everyone is doing really well keeping it under wraps that the patch actually gives an extra 11 planets and all the saber crystals you can eat, but shhh!)

Sorry - don't understand... Is Atton there after the cutscene, or has he vanished from the game entirely?

I think it's more a problem with your hardware setup than with the game. First of all check that your chipset drivers are up to date (not sure how experienced you are with this, so post back if this comes accross as gibberish). You're running a 6800gt - what kind of psu does your machine have? (Try to find the brand and the rating. There's usually a sticker on the side of the psu with all the details. Also check that both power connectors are plugged into the card, and that it's 2 connectors from different lines (not 2 on the same line) + try to avoid having too many other peripherals hanging off the line.

The US version doesn't need it. All the patch does is fix the pdf manual, which for some reason was broken on everything except the US version.

Can play, but freezes in consoles. New bug?

You could always try a reinstall on the machine you want to play on... -
I thought you opengl version depended on your drivers?
-
You could try reloading from an earlier save.
-
No problem - glad we could get it sorted for you! (At least you can change your singature now)
-
Get that one that says: (just hit the "go" button beside it). Open the file that downloads and follow the instructions on screen.
-
Kel - have you tried an older sound driver?
-
Don't fool yourself, all the Euro patch does is update a couple of pdf documents. (wow my game really sings after that little gem ) I've not heard anything about a proper patch, but I'd imagine they're woking on it.

You know, the fans really have been shafted here - low res movies and music just to save on the number of CDs! It's really not acceptable in this day and age when the porduction costs of stamping another cd are minimal at best. Failing that they have just done the sensible thing and released it on a DVD alla Far Cry. It would be nice if they released a higher qulaity audio and movie download. Let's face, most people who care wouldn't have a problem with a large download. (I would like to know if it was Obsidian's decision or LucasArts, cos this doesn't bode well for NWN2)

Yeah 13 gigs free is plenty. As long as you have more than about 3 gigs free for your paging file etc you should be fine.

Show off Take it your still using the onboard sound. I'd deffinately go for an upgrade - sound quality will be better and you won't take a performance hit. If you want to do it on the cheap go with an Audigy 2 Value (it's a ZS without the gold contacts or firewire) excellent value. Cheap speakers can always be a bit dodgy. I paid

Mouse Stuck! Sorry for bothering...

:"> If it's a wireless keyboard/mouse you could also check your batteries... (ahem) -
Hudson I may have had a bit of luck. May have found a more recent version of the driver. Hit the link below and download the right version of the drvier for your operating system. (If you any problems installing it let me know and I'll talk you through it) http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97...8&Software=True Going by the model number of your motherboard, I take it your machine is a HP. Can you give me the model number?

Excellent thanks mate - I'm starting to wonder if they only tested on older versions of onboard drivers.

Pretty much - when a movie or photo etc is made a resolution is specified. So on a 640x480 monitor it would look fine because the resolution is the same. At a higher resolution it has to be scaled up to fit (so you are trying to stretch something 640x480 pixels to fit something that maybe double that, which gives you much lower image quality. Frustrating cos (I think) 800x600 is the minimum gameplay resolution, and even then I don't think many people will play at it. The only reason I can imagine for the choice is that they really needed to cut down on file size (not that I'd have minded if it ran onto a 5th cd).

Atton disappeared from the ship (glitch)

have you tried reloading an older save and playing up to the same point? (A proper save, not a quicksave or autosave). Sounds like you've missed a trigger somewhere. -
Mouse Stuck! Sorry for bothering...

Does the mouse work in Windows? Is it a wireless mouse? Also try loading an earlier save. I had exactly the same problem in the Exchange encounter on Telos but levelling up solved it.. Also, like justabloke said, please post your hardware config details. -
Lock-up after creating new character
adrich81 replied to Boss Hogg's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Check for updated sound drivers (most of the problems here seem to be on ATI cards, or on setups with onboard sound). If you have the latest driver, you might want to try an older version of the soundcard driver. You could also try starting with one of the premade characters - someone else posted that solved the same crash. -
Just had a look at your info - I think the problem is your graphics card. You really need at least a Radeon 8500 to play this; your card isn't officially supported.
-
I'm noticing the problem setups seem to all have onboard audio Bendu could you let us know what driver your soundcard is using? (Someone else is having audio problems with the same card).
-
You just need to adjust the positioning of the picture on your monitor. The movies play at a different resolution to the game, so their position will be different on screen. Just autoscan you monitor or manually correct the horizontal position til it's in the right place (it should then remember the settings - hopefully you'll only have ot do it once)

Ain't gona happen - if they did upgrade them (which would be a fair bit of work or they'd have done it anyway) you'd be talking a massive download. Sad though - with 4xaa and 16xaf @1280x960 it's far prettier ingame than in the FMVs.
