Bruce, your presidential hopeful also stayed with her husband after he was caught being sexually deviant by a truck load of women. Seems ironic to point out Cosby in one forum and root Clinton in an adjacent one.

I am weak willed, and I bought Doom. As someone that has enjoyed all of the Doom games for different reason, I think this game is exactly what I would want for a more modern take on the first two games. I loved the horror aspect from 3, but this feels like old Doom. I missed old Doom more than I realized. Also, the melee attacks were fleshed out enough by giving you health back that I'm glad they were added. Id nailed it.

Lady Stoneheart.... ugh... that plotline is going nowhere fast. She ends up leading the Brotherhood Without Banners. I think she was a mistake by Martin. I'm suprised you've never read these books. You are a fan of the genre. I agree, unless in the books she gives her life to resurrect Jon just like happened to her. It would let her save a child (the one she regrets mistreating), keep a child of Ned's alive, and it ends her existence. It would be a better way to bring Jon back than that of the easy way they did it in the show. Either way her and Dondarion are proof resurrection happens to keep Jon's from being out of the blue.

... ... Can't possibly be Arcanum-related. I bet Arcanum was more fun to make than play. I love the game for being the crap covered gem that it is (one of my favorite RPGs), but I can't argue it is a grueling experience at the best of times. If that character creation system had been attached to a moderately competent combat system it would be a classic. Arcanum with ToEE combat sounds delicious.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not for Trump. That said, he has said how he will pay for a portion of that wall. He plans on putting tariffs on all trade coming in from Mexico to this country. All products that come from Mexico will see this tax hike, and he has said it won't be a small hike. If it crosses the border or enters via docks it will be hit with these taxes. There is a lot of "Made in Mexico" stuff out and about here in the US. Most of it is cheap, and these hikes could make those products non-competitive. So, either the Mexican Government pays upfront to assist in the wall, or the tariffs could crush what business they have, make them non-competitive, cause businesses to pack up factories for greener pastures, etc. These scenarios lead to getting money for the project, or really hurting Mexico financially. Not an unintelligent plan. He isn't the bafoon he is painted as, nor as he has somewhat portrayed himself. He is just brash, but he has plans for doing what he proposes, and more solid ones in many cases compared to Hillary or Sanders. He reminds me of a mouthy Columbo. He is playing stupid, but you don't make billions without knowing how to really put it to your competition. His manipulation of the press in general has been masterful. I just don't like the guy, or authoritarian is in general. So, none of the 3 current candidates appeal to me. It's a large gap in the media's presentation on this (and many other policies of Trump). They have painted it as if he is just going to go to Mexico and give them a stern talking to. Which is laughable. As leader of the country where a large portion of Mexico's exports go he would wield considerably more power over Mexico's pocketbook than many realize. Including (based on responses I've read in the media) from the Mexican Government it would seem.

I don't need to look. I bet the ending feels shoehorned in and uninspired.

Well, one would think it was Troika related to get Leonard to leave Blizzard. Logically that is. So, either Feargus is being coy (my guess), Arcanum Spiritual Successor (not likely, but maybe Activision is game. Still... That wouldn't require U4 unless they are doing the FPS they wanted to do with the Arcanum sequel. It's still terribly unlikely), and I doubt it's a ToE-sequel game as Wizards hates catering to its fans in the video game market (plus, Obsidian has PoE for anything they want to do resembling D&D)... So that leaves us no where. I still think Feargus is playing dumb, and doesn't want to (or can't) talk of it until the tree is ready to bear fruit. It could be one of those projects that gets the rug pulled out beneath its feet after 6 months. So, discussing it could be a big no no, and they may have an NDA in place.

I had the same problem in my first game so I just created a lot of small colonies that weren't contiguous. Then when I could afford it I created those observation stations (can't remember what they are called) to connect them, and in a few decades started terraforming the planets so I could remove those stations and/or assimilated other unfriendly cultures. It worked pretty well.

Don't be harsh on people not liking it. Money grab boom of remakes in Holywood is now through the roof and people complain about it. No problem with me I just classify that as dislike. Seething hate is somewhat different. I can't be bothered to make a nice little montage like the one Mesh posted though. EDIT: Seriously though, I've got no real beef with this movie. Yes, it looks awful, so I won't see it and I'll pop in ye olde DVD of the original instead, which will still be just as good. Consider my childhood intact an unmolested. Yup, pretty much. Comedy trailers usually contain some of the funnier moments, and these trailers haven't caused me to crack a smile. I will just watch the first two movies in 4k on my home tv come launch day, and for the rest of my life. I need to get all the episodes of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, though.

This implies that they have been making anything but action games for a while. Pretty sure everything since kotor has been closer to action game than the previous title. Just because the have some stats and a dialogue wheel doesn't make it a pure rpg. ARPG? Sure, but the A stands for Action IIRC. Edit: I guess DAO was less action game than jade empire.

Me too, but as Paradox has said - compared to their other titles, it's a bit 'bareboned' at the moment. Which means it's got flavor coming out the wazoo of course, but if you're used to Crusader Kings 2 etc it can fell quite a bit shallow after the midgame. It is barebones, but it is such a good base for getting something special going. I haven't played a 4x or a grand strategy in years, but I had a cold this week and a hankering to play something in the Sci-fi genre... So I splurged. I am not disappointed.

Playing a little Uncharted 4, and WAAAAY too much Stellaris. Stellaris is addictive as all hell, and probably one of the few games that will get me throwing down on DLC. I highly recommend giving it a go.

I'm no Tolkien scholar, but wasn't it the sort of the other way around, he was a linguist looking for something use his skills on and came up with settings where he could use those languages? Does the order matter? I'm not saying you are wrong, but either way the language was used to augment the novels he wrote. He may have wrote the language first, or started creating middle-earth first. It would have ended the same way, more or less.
-
Dunno what the intent is, but I will say that having unique language in your world can make it feel more real. Not unlike some of the slang from Planescape: Torment did. The use of words like "cutter" and "dusty" made the world feel unique and alien while giving it some hint of authenticity. They used those terms like Hollywood likes to have its Mexican characters to call the white guy "gringo". It's done in many novels as well, and works to varying degrees. And let's not forget Tolkien creating the Elvish language for Middle-Earth. There are worse things to nod to in your fantasy setting.

It's pretty typical for the entry level cards to outsell the mid to high level cards. The 980, 980ti, 970, and Titans are mostly marketing. They want their cards on top of benchmarks (when games are released) as it gives the impression their cards are faster than AMDs across the board. I can't remember where I read it, but AMD made the same point in an interview I read. They said that is why Polaris is trying to make VR capable cards for entry level prices. They want something of equal power to a 970 (maybe a 980 if we are lucky) to be in the 950 to 960 price bracket. We will see what happens.

The last few pages of this thread reminds me of a quote from the movie Office Space. "I can't believe what nerds we are looking up money laundering in a dictionary"

It isn't far from the truth. Nvidia spent a lot of money perfecting their hardware for DX11 and those decisions have caused them to be flat footed in the Mantle/DX12/Vulkan department. Architecture is like anything else, and has strengths and weaknesses. Their architecture is powerful with DX11, but they have been maintaining the perception of quality via gameworks skull duggery. Most gameworks titles run better on amd ( or at least equally well) after a month or so. ANDs woes in CPUs are from being equally forward thinking. Bulldozer sucked because it focused on spreading workload across its many cores, but only 8(?) Years later do we start to see multithreading come about. I think we will see some huge turns for AMD by the end of 2017. I have faith in them in CPUs for the first time since bulldozer. While they have always made great gpus, but their efforts to stop gameworks with an open-source equivalent (GPUOpen) makes them even more appealing.

Also saw Bat man V Superman. I agree with Amentep, and think it suffers from editing woes. Particularly in the middle of the movie. They would have benefited from a stand alone Batman movie prior to this. Also a Wonder Woman movie, possibly. My only issue with the movie outside editing is Luthor, but I wanted a more ruthless Luthor. This one feels too much like the Joker to make me like it.

The Clinton's have always played up this crowd. Bill did it too. It's odd, but securing votes is securing votes.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=36021079&postcount=202 Yeah, one of the devs said a while back that they had secured the making of a previous project (that fell through) with a new publisher. They also said it was scaled back from the previous incarnation, and I'm guessing they scaled it back via isometric camera and text heavy.

That's the whole reason I created this thread, to talk about the game here And I already had a Paradox account but I don't really like it over there Yeaaaah... I took a look over there but it seemed kind of toxic. So, continuing the conversation, they say it will be released this year. Is it just me, or does that seem kind of... optimistic? Keep in mind that the tools were built at the onset of PoE's development. That is a lion's share of the work they don't have to worry about. They have to do some design for their attributes, abilities, and other systems. However, some of that can be brought from PoE. Certain systems for the Stronghold, for instance, need not be overhauled. The way to implement models, animations, backgrounds, audio, etc is there. Let us not forget this project didn't start just last week, and most likely began a long while back. Possible a year or two. So, I think this year isn't optimistic, but feasible. It is similar to what I've said to people expecting a flawless PoE, and tearing it down on the PoE forums after its launch. They wanted a BG2 experience, but even Bioware had a game to get use to the engine they built prior to releasing BG2. I expect PoE2 will be better because more time will be building the game (story, level design, combat encounters, etc) instead of creating tools and systems on an engine with which the devs are unfamiliar.

I have never been a Hulkimaniac either. So, your point is invalid. I personally find the man obnoxious, and have since the 80s. The 80s happened long before GG. I was an Andre the Giant and a Macho Man fan when I was younger. GG aside. I find celebrity sex tapes incredibly useless to society and hope this stops the trend (although I know it won't), and to use them for personal financial gain and/or to harm the parties in said videos should be punishable. Period. I don't care who posts the video, and I would say the same if it were a pro-GG website or someone I liked.

Affairs with friends' wives are morally reprehensible, but not necessarily illegal. Posting videos of an affair online that causes harm to the participants' livelihood teeters a line that is possibly slanderous. Which has legal ramifications. I find both parties offensive, but I think Hogan is in the right. Gawker has gone out of its way to damage him, and now he is fighting back. Winning that fight to boot.
