  1. This is liek the moofie thread and not... well, I'm guessing it's still a TV show. Binge watched it over the weekend. I haven't read the short story/book so I don't really know how good the adaptation is but the show is awesome even if some of the plotlines while ultimately necessary were a little too drawn out (e.g. Juliana's parents, Ed's grandfather and Childan & the Kasuoras, although that might be an awesome name for a band). The casting was a little weird some some of the character design could really use some work. It can't be good when you're sitting in front of your TV wanting Inspector Kido and John Smith to win because dammit they're done (and played) so well while on the other side we got Frank and Juliana who just might be two seperate Skylers. Is it just me but does Rufus Sewell look an awful lot like a fusion between JE and Jean Claude van Damme?
  2. I liked IWD2 a great deal when it came out, in spite of the terrible ruleset and point buy character generation. It has some of the most interesting areas of the IE games and you'll find a few things in there that no other IE game, not counting PS:T, tried. Although the result is a bit of a mixed bag. All in all it has more interesting battles than the first IWD and much improved pacing, but it is also, out of the box, the hardest of all the IE games and it is definitely too long for its own good. The story is pretty meh, but servicable enough the first time around. It's definitely worth playing considering that you can get it for almost free these days when it is on sale.
  3. The original theatrical release versions? Even with the original female/warped-looking Emperor Palpatine in The Empire Strikes Back? Yes. They don't even include the improved special effects so you can still see through the Echo glider's metal frames if you watch them carefully enough.
  4. Amen (and the same is true for WoW). well, you likely could balance pve and pvp much better, but the stealth classes is extreme problematic. as over-the-top as some o' the pre 3.0 pvp builds were (smash jugg and bubbles sage) they were viable in pve and would eventual benefit from obvious needed tweaks to limit their excessive pvp dominance. but stealth? stealth is a major advantage in pvp. to balance the power o' stealth v. non stealth classes, one needs obvious reduce overall damage potential o' the shadows and agents, yes? HA! Good Fun! I don't think stealth is the advantage you make it out to be. It can be if your enemies have no idea what they are doing because you can vanish and stealth cap while CC'ing a lone defender, but that is about it. There was a bunch of crying about operatives and their stealth-burst during 1.0, but that got nerfed quickly and all subsequent complains were about operative healers and not really about "OMG STEALTH NREFNREF!!!11!!oneone" after all. DPS operatives never recovered from that nerf in PVP and it was about the only thing that made them semi-viable anyway. Being able to two-shot someone every two minutes is barely game-changing (keep in mind that arena didn't exist at the time). At best the DPS specs of both stealth ACs were annoying in PVP and I recall some pretty epic stealth battles on my operative healer with a certain shadow on my server, but those were all... yeah. Way back at a time when PVP gear came randomly out of boxes.
  5. Amen (and the same is true for WoW).
  6. Was that ever any different, for either stealth AC? Occasionally they would pull decent or even top DPS in PVE but still not get much attention because they suffer from the crippling flaw of being melee classes in an environment utterly hostile to those (for the most part anyway and exacerbated for shadows/assassins because they wear rags for armor) where the only melee dps slot went to the class with the most utility, which they never were. Or, no, wait, the only reason why there even was a melee dps slot in an operation group was because marauders/sentinels had such awesome utility combined with top dps.
  7. It's not so bad, really. Scotchmo's combat initiative is so awful you'll only get one or two shots of per fight.
  8. Not sure I get this. I get it for Adam Sandler and Mike Meyers, But Ben Stiller still has more good than bad at this stage. Out of all the silly comedies Zoolander might as well be one of the best because it nicely blends comedy and satire while also featuring some elements of parody, well, and the massive cast of people who played themselves. I would also rate Stiller as the better actor than Sandler and Meyers. Not by much, but definitely noticable.
  9. I just finished watching Six String Samurai. I'm... not really sure what to say. Except maybe: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
  10. My CE finally arrived on friday, now I'm finished with the campaign on normal. I agree that normal is way too easy, the only time I had to actually reload was in the second epilogue mission where I for some reason was overrun rather handily beause of not paying attention. Now for the fun part: PS: John de Lancie for president. PPS: Easily the worst ending since Mass Effect 3.
  11. Speaking of which... is it just me or does ? When May said he disappeared while on vacation with her and it was the same time everyone started turning into inhumans I first started suspecting it. Dunno what happened to make him go kill crazy though. I'm sure they will explain satifactorily as they did with Ward. Right you were, just didn't expect it to happen this soon. Oh, and it really looks like nobody's allowed to have a romantic break on this show.
  12. But, but... that is not really the fault of MST3K, is it?
  13. I'm still waiting for my Legacy of the Void Collector's Edition to arrive but not that I mind, it is supposed to arrive by the end of the week and I won't be able to play much before the weekend anyway and I fully expect the conclusion to suck so much ass that I probably won't replay the game at all. As I suck at online RTS (read: I lack the commitment and time necessary to do even semi-well) it probably won't have much longevity for me. Horde side "maturity" (what little there was in the first place) took a huge nosedive in Cataclysm. It is a caricature of its former self. But hey, them Blizzards were just puttin' the war back in Warcraft, y'know? At least that is what Chris "I voice act EVERYTHING in WoW" Metzen and ghostcrawler said. /rant
  14. Speaking of which... is it just me or does ?
  15. Seconded. Uwe Boll is an underappreciated genius.
  16. I'm currently playing Rebel Galaxy. It's playing the Space Is An Ocean trope straight including broadside combat but it's been fun enough so far.
  17. Personality: INTP ("The Logician") Variant: Assertive Role: Analyst Strategy: Confident Individualism I'm pretty sure I've read that before, somewhere. Or maybe a variant thereof. Not sure, it's been too long.
  18. Hm, I just grabbed the entire Interplay collection. There are only a few things I wanted (like playing Castles and MDK again) but the entire set on sale is just as much as the few items would have been on their own, so why not. So that puts me at having bought almost a third of all available games on GOG. Gee, I guess I'll find the time to play them all after retiring.
  19. You're sort of forgetting the entire village of annoying Twi'lek hillbillies refugees on Tython. Some of those are male. So it's probably more like a bias against Twi'leks anyway.
  20. When was the last time a WoW addon delivered exactly as promised before? Honestly when it comes to adding features to WoW Blizzard should really rethink their communication strategy. First they talk about all the nice ideas they're having and tell us about all about upcoming features and then... they get quietly whisked away to the same dark place where the Warcraft adventure and Titan lie. I still remember being stoked about the Path of the Titans or Archeology and look what we got in Cata. Another Glyhp-Tier and the most boring time-sink since fishing. Actually fishing was more fun than that. I even won the silly Stranglethorn competition once.
  21. Looks like it was quite the success. A really decent chunk of money for this happening during the post-gold-rush Kickstarter era, all community missions down (not that I care much about the beard match) and Kickstarter just e-mailed me about that new 315$ bill. Humm. Let's hope that jacket is really worth it.
  22. It also really doesn't help that he only writes on his old ass computer back at home, so all that time spent travelling in recent years really cut into his work time. There's a reason he cancelled his convention plans for the second half of 2015, I think otherwise people might have strangled him or pulled off a Kathy Bates - except with the idea of forcing him to actually write an ending rather than changing it.
  23. Aww. There, there. It's okay. I was close to making a point involving the detrimental effect multiplayer modes have on (single player) games that have the proper budget and projecting it on a game on a Kickstarter budget where the entire multiplayer mode was conceptually tacked on as the last available (and therefore apparently most expendable) stretch goal, but why bother. I mean such sentiment isn't REALLY to be expected from a group composed of people liking single player RPGs on a forum of a company making - mostly - single player RPGs, is it? Gee. PVP is probably simpler to implement ? But much, much harder to balance, which by the way is my biggest fear. Larger companies with far more experience and money than HBS failed trying. Competitive multiplayer adds a dimension to a game that is really difficult to get right. BattleTech at least has the advantage of having been around for a while, but even with somewhat balanced source material the computer implementation isn't necessarily going to be awesome. Oh, and yeah, if that sounds a bit bitter then that is what PVPing made me and why I kind of stopped doing it (outside of SWTOR's GSF).
  24. I probably should have read the entire article instead of just seeing Kurtzman and going "Thanks, but no thanks" xD
  25. Yeah, like having to deal with that annoying Twi'lek hypocrite bitch for 60+ runs. Ugh. spacebar pls That's still five seconds of her. No thanks.
