  1. The continued chat about AC form yesterday betrayed me.
  2. Chatting about AC when there's actual video game news today! --- Galactic Civilizations III announced Double-Fine announces their sci-fi Dwarf Fortress Spacebase DF-9 Ubisoft surprises nobody by delaying Watch Dogs to Spring 2014
  3. Eden Star An attempt to fuse Mirror's Edge and Minecraft; could be interesting --- Not a Kickstarter project, but directly related to the site: Sidekick - Designed by a PhD student, this site offers real-time predictions on the success of Kickstarter campaigns using pledge info and social media activity
  4. Early game footage from the Proven Lands It's looking pretty good but I'd like to hear more about the game itself.
  5. Rapper wants Rockstar to pay up or destroy all units of GTA5 Yeah, somebody really should have realized that when he said "No" to the money, that didn't mean "Go right ahead, no payment necessary".
  6. Good news, everyone! Uwe Boll's KS died messily; after some suspiciously large donations early on, it lost 30k in one day, 10k on another day, and then barely made another hundred. Bad news, everyone! Uwe Boll is considering other crowd-funding sites. I suspect the ones looked at may allow him to keep the money even if he misses his target.
  7. Cyan Worlds possibly putting together a Kickstarter project I'll be honest, I wasn't even aware the original company was still around.
  8. Hm... cyberpunk, space opera, and hard sci-fi... Y'know, a solar system settled in the same manner as Cowboy Bebop might make an interesting setting. It would naturally limit the number of locations you could visit and the drain on resources and time of moving between planetary bodies would keep you from hopping around willy nilly.
  9. The current trailer is more a "launch date" trailer than anything, just to assure people it really is coming out. This trailer gives a few glimpses of combat, which as noted leans towards JRPG. Attacks like Sparky humping and Mister Slave, ahem, engulfing an opponent are special abilities.
  10. Went with "E", but I really like the glasses off "A".
  11. My big fear for the Uwe Boll project is he'll get some "angel donors" *coughhimselfcough* to make up the gap so he can take the money from all the people who just kicked in to mock him. Nothing's worse then realizing that you accidentally paid Uwe Boll to make another movie. Honestly though, with what he's promising, how he's acting, and what he's saying... I'm surprised he's not trying a film adaptation of Daikatana. At least then we could be certain it was a bad joke.
  12. Hyper Light Drifter 2D action-RPG with an interesting visual design
  13. If you funded Battle Worlds: Kronos back in April, they just sent out keys to their first closed beta. Haven't installed mine just yet, but the key arrived in a timely fashion. They also included a shout-out to an interesting survival-horror game currently struggling along: U55 - End of the Line
  14. I played the heck out of II and VI. My family's Windows 3.0-computer had a rather nasty boot-sector virus hit it and could never play an action game the same after that. II was my solution to that, as it didn't demand the same performance. It was maybe a year after I started playing that we finally got a new computer... but I never actually finished II until I got the internet. Why? Because II literally required you to use a game exploit to get past a step in the main story. You were trapped in dungeon with an item you needed to take out, but all your teleport spells were disabled and every exit was sealed off. The only solution was to give it to a hireling and dismiss them, then pick them up at an inn. I tired going back to VII a few years after its release, but couldn't get into it again.
  15. Race the Sun v1.0 is now out. I'm not an expert on infinite runners, but I've enjoyed it so far.
  16. They may have requested to keep their involvement under wraps or might still be under a contract that prevents them from openly revealing their involvement for the time being. Or they may be generating buzz, which "keep watching to see who they are" will do fairly well.
  17. Ghost Song: A Journey of Hope An interesting looking sci-fi metroidvania
  18. Eternal Darkness downloadable re-release may be coming soon
  19. Shadow of the Eternals relaunched on Kickstarter Self-proclaimed spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness, it's a third-person horror action/adventure game. This is their second attempt at a Kickstarter campaign after the first one faltered.
  20. Limited beta of Race the Sun available for the public If you missed the Kickstarter, it's essentially an infinite runner and a fairly fun one at that. It's come a long way since the beta, and has a nice minimalist aesthetic. A new world is generated daily and players can submit worlds they design, which are visited through portals scattered through the daily map. Shadow of the Eternals relaunches its Kickstarter campaign They cancelled their first campaign after the less-than-stellar results during the first campaign, and are bringing it back to Kickstarter.
  21. Space Shock A dungeon crawler IN SPACE - turn-based tactical combat with first-person exploration
  22. It's a goodly distance. The last minute surge might make it, but I suspect it will be close if it does cross the finish line.
  23. Gearbox announces HD remakes of the first two Homeworld games Hopefully they don't do anything too extreme and just give the models and textures some improvements.
  24. There's room for more than one steampunk fantasy tabletop game out there. Privateer Press has been around for 13 years, and Warmachine for 10 of those years. If there was enough similarity to justify a suit, I think GW would have hit them before now. --- Second day in and they're over $600,000 now, which is pretty impressive. I would love to see a breakdown of the types of backers involved, to see how many are previous Warmachine fans and how many are just being introduced.
  25. Ah, they must be going extra-nostalgic and packaging the Kickstarter version in old-school cardboard boxes, like you would have seen back when Wasteland was released; you know, the 8 inch tall monstrosities that nowadays indicates a collector's edition or battlechest. I think Half-Life 2 was the last game I got that came with that sort of box...
