  1. I appreciate him explaining why he organized the stretch goals as he did. And I will admit, a world like Morrowind where exploration is more important than the associated combat... I like that.
  2. Lacuna Passage An exploration/survival game based on discovering the fate of a lost exploration mission to Mars Has a decent line in the video where they explain the lack of physical rewards by noting they're kickstarting a game, not a t-shirt
  3. They just don't want to add "homicidal gamers" to that list; the continent might end up uninhabitable.
  4. You can try using KickTraq, which essentially catalogues Kickstarter projects and their progress for easy reference. You can browse by category, time left, and check specifically on projects just launching.
  5. Frontiers First-person exploration game with roots in the Daggerfall experience
  6. Stonehearth Fantasy city-building game with a snazzy pseudo-Minecraft look and hints of Dwarf Fortress (fairly sure Cthulhu attacked there)
  7. Depends on their cut from the usual sales, I suppose. The KS pledge may allow more money to reach Larian than a sale through a third-party retailer. Even then, your logic also applies to any Kickstarter where the base game is available for less than retail through the campaign. And this campaign may generate pseudo-sales of Dragon Commander that would have otherwise not happened - I'd never heard of it before this campaign and got interested as a result.
  8. So yeah, just watched The Evil Within trailer and... yeah, the six-limbed blood thing is probably gonna bug me when I go to sleep tonight, just trying to calm my mind and imagining "but what if that thing's just waiting in the dark?" Ugh. --- The Save Homeworld campaign's Team Pixel... doesn't save Homeworld Not all that surprised, considering the type of money they were likely running against. The winner is still unknown, but apparently Paradox came third and Stardock second.
  9. He's clean-shaven and his hair is starting to turn gray at the temples; what kind of RPG has a responsible, middle-aged man as a protagonist? It is too bad that the timing was off with the launch. The $800,000 stretch would be nice, but they may be able to focus better if they don't need to develop the side characters too much.
  10. Among the Sleep Previously seen in the news, this is a first-person horror adventure game where you play a two year-old child
  11. Halaal: Frozen Sword Made by a high school class using RPGMaker, their teacher is apparently looking for funds to provide enough laptops and copies of software to complete the game and start an elective class using it.
  12. They've officially ticked 4 million as reached. That was the one I most wanted to see reached; after this, it's all gravy.
  13. Ride to Hell still exists, apparently Zynga execs determine the best way to keep their company strong is by paying themselves more
  14. I usually filter out any physical tiers, since I'd prefer my money go into development rather than giving me feelies that'll probably end up in a closet. Went the $80-way for WL2 on top of Torment. KS is at $3.725 million, Paypal is at $89k. Toss in the $200k from the pledge-matching, and they've technically passed $4 million now. And they still have a day left.
  15. Doesn't matter if want; now that the idea has been unleashed, someone will make it real.
  16. They've admitted they were looking at starting after GDC, and hadn't realized both SotA and TToN would be launching when they did. They'd already done a few articles with the press that were on standby to pump initial interest in their Kickstarter, but one of the outlets jumped the gun and they ended up deciding to launch then to avoid losing the press surge.
  17. Ritual Dementia makes its goal this time around
  18. Two First Looks: RPS is hopeful Polygon is worried
  19. SimCity gets unbalanced, Nissan ad DLC *sigh* Activision celebrates Deadpool game's going gold... by firing the dev team before it ships Nice. If the dev team was working on the promise of bonuses for meeting certain review/sales goals, I wonder if they got screwed out of that too...
  20. Would you like to see some footage regarding SPACE HULK SPACE HULK SPACE HULK?
  21. Trial by Magic being remade for modern systems If you haven't heard of it, it's a DOS dungeon-crawling RPG that got screwed by the publisher, resulting in few copies reaching retail
  22. A short Q&A with some interesting facts Highlights: - Release window is currently within CY 2013 - Single-player only - There will be no arranging of party members; ensuring your meat shield takes blows for the casters will require activating related skills instead
  23. Errant Heart Another Western visual novel Kickstarter
  24. Apparently, Squeenix is looking at a project loss of more than $100 million, which means they projected sales of maybe another 2 million at full retail. On an unrelated note, as far as Squeenix is concerned, they sold about 3 million digital versions.
