  1. Doesn't help that most of the news was compacted into GDC, so we're in post-con news drought. Hack 'N' Slash from Double Fine detailed Galactic Civilizations 3 trailer in advance of alpha release
  2. Bear Simulator In their own words, "It's like a mini Skyrim but you're a bear".
  3. They didn't rip it off, Ellen Page just happens to look like the most generic video game female face in existence. Watched a 25-minute walkthrough of M:SS's gameplay after the trailer, and I'm interested.
  4. Magicka creators making a Gauntlet reboot That was the last arcade game I ever played. Was in a mall in Albuquerque, I think.
  5. It's more like the original Mass Effect away missions than ME2's minesweeper, just replacing the suction-cup car with a parkouring astronaut.
  6. Epoch: Return World exploration game where you are locating wrecked ships and salvaging material to repair your own crashed ship Still early in development; the sky, clouds, and HUD look nice while the ground reminds me of driving up straight cliffs in the original Mass Effect.
  7. Few items of interest: Gearbox announces rerelease of Homeworld series with "Remastered" versions Not unexpected, but still Huzzah! Metal Gear Solid V might make its way to PC After Revengeance made it to PC, this is also not unexpected. Not quite huzzah-worthy since it's still questionable. Serious Sam 4 planned to release sometime in 2014 Still haven't gotten around to playing the third.
  8. It's the popcorn flick of video games. Nothing wrong with that so long as the actual gameplay can hold up.
  9. Ten minute walkthrough of The Witness
  10. I still remember xkcd's comment on password strength. Password's changed; checked my card, no unusual activity. Even if there is, I use a cash card for online purchases like Kickstarter, so they won't be able to cause too much trouble if they get it.
  11. Path of Shadows on Greenlight, planning Kickstarter If you don't remember, here's a video of the first level.
  12. Oculus Rift trademark being disputed by Oculu Apparently Oculu has no problem with any of the other businesses basing their name on the word "ocular" and doesn't quite understand what the Oculus Rift actually is. Ooh, even better, there's a business called Oculus Inc. Guess it'd be a bit hard for Oculu to go after them since they were founded before the technology that makes Oculu possible was invented.
  13. Watch Dogs trademark nearly abandoned due to fake request to the government
  14. Last golf game I played was on a pre-Windows computer. Yeah it's been a- Duke Nukem top-down aRPG teased ...What.
  15. Update 3 gives more info on their efforts to gain funding, past and present
  16. Shovel Knight in alpha, set for full release March 31, has new trailer
  17. Very true. The others were each modified or rebuilt at one point or another to serve as a palace or similar residence; these guys are leaning more toward the military fortification definition of a castle, I think.
  18. Cradle First-person adventure/exploration game with RPG elements in a (sorry) fantasy world Uses Cryengine, which may be the new Unity, and shows some basic elements of one of the five regions planned
  19. La-Mulana is on sale today for 90% off, probably to get more people interested in their Kickstarter for the sequel.
  20. The fact that King.com is attacking people for infringing on a trademarked word that isn't even trademarked yet should really, really count against them. They might have gotten away with this if they'd waited the apparent month that's allowed for people to place complaints against trademark applications; as it is, they're now going to have everyone with "Candy" or "Saga" filing complaints to stop it. Considering their apparent "need" to attack everyone using these words, I wonder what's going to happen if they send one against Xenosaga. Haha, didn't they have to overhaul the graphics with a huge patch as the game looked like ass when it was released? Resident Evil 4 on its native console was ahead of its time; the PC port was one of Ubisoft's many shamefully shoddy creations from that period. The re-re-release is hopefully going to avoid that.
  21. Resident Evil 4 - Ultimate HD Edition coming to Steam next month for $20
  22. La-Mulana 2 Sequel to La-Mulana, developed by the creators of the original 'nuff said really; if you liked the original and want more, they're offering To The Death Side-scrolling action/shooter game focusing on a vendetta between two warriors who killed each other, now trapped in what amounts to limbo Video includes prototype gameplay; the split-screen concept for two players, each controlling one warrior racing toward the other, sounds intriguing
  23. New Alien: Isolation screenshots give a better look at our most beloved childhood nightmare
  24. You could always argue Walking Dead is more a Western-style visual novel than a video game. It has a greater emphasis on story-telling and character interaction than gameplay, which puts it more towards the visual novel end.
  25. As far as I know, you can't pre-order it yet. Guess he'll have to wait for it to be pre-orderable, pre-order it, and then cancel the pre-order.
