  1. Linky I feel this discovery point out something often forgotten, that 70% of the Earth is covered by water. Considering that simple fact it seems extremely unlikely that oil will "run out" anytime soon. After all, we still havent discovered all the oil fields on land much less what lies underwater and with so much of the Earth under water, well, just do the math.
  2. Silent Hill Can anyone tell me WTF was going on in this train wreck? So, the girl gets burn up by wackos but lives and makes a dead with the devil. The devil takes the girl and anyone that participated in her burning and puts them in some alternate world. The burnt up girl grows to a woman and has a kid. The kid is the orphan that leads mom and the female cop back to town where they are swallowed up. Ok, Im with it so far. So at the end, the burnt up woman comes up and slaughters the townsfolk. The end. Or is it...... If it let them leave town, why were they still trapped in the alternate world? If the burnt up woman was actually alive, how did she survive, the devil feed her? Was the little orphan girl a ghost the whole time or something?
  3. Ive never had a problem with my (thick) PS2. Cant a normal CD head cleaning kit work?
  4. I dont see how it could be a "racial" issue anyway. The tribe members will be eliminated by fellow tribesmen.
  5. ^Why? Was that question out of line?
  6. If you dont mind my asking, but I think I once read a post from you regarding the fact that youre homosexual. When did you first know you were homosexual?
  7. You keep throwing this out there quite a bit and you are wrong. So no, 2-3% of the population does not constitute a "norm".
  8. Voted Technomicon. EDIT: Crap, already over. NVM. :">
  9. I never said you couldn't.I'm not going to continue debating this with you, because I think we have said all we need to say. But youre wrong as Dark Moth has repeatadly deconstructed your semantical game. Im curious though, are you just trolling or can you not understand the concept of whats considered, by humans, to be a normal biological human? After all, Siamese twins exist so that must be normal?
  10. I suppose it could be though of that way when you consider the statistical probability of any genetic mutation. Our species is capable of living with many many mutations but I dont understand what societal acceptace or rejection has to do with this conversation. Pls clarify.
  11. Well thats a sensitive subject. For small percentages of a population or individuals, its no problem. On a macro scale (which its not) Im sure you can see where it could become a population issue. I dont think anyone is discussing if its "right" or "wrong", more like what causes it. Obviously though, it is not normal (biologically speaking).
  12. Whatever it means, none of my Japanese coworkers can identify it. Of course, it may not be Japanese but it sure looks it.
  13. Heh, thats kind of a catch-22. The examples you cited are considered brain disorders while homosexuality has been de-listed as a disorder (except by China). Sooo, is it a treatable disorder (counseling, drugs) or is it hard wired like pedophelia where there is no chance of "curing", only suppressing the urges?
  14. Er... What? You know, a soccer hooligan.
  15. Holy macaroni, I just googled that. Thank god the death is usually swift. *shudder*
  16. So you feel a country with an extremely skewed sex ratio, say China, would be more likely to have a disproportionate amount of homosexuals over a country with a sex ratio closer to 50/50?
  17. I dunno but I was only using that case as an example. @Pidesco: After mulling it over for a bit Im inclined to disagree that people are born bi-sexual and later choose. IMO, that leave too much up in the air regarding an organisms reproduction and simply put, nature isnt that sloppy. I mean, if you are right, it would be theoretically possible to "train" and entire generation to be homosexual. Also, there is a long history of treating women as sexual objects or baby factories. Wouldnt that have influenced the vast majority of people to choose heterosexuality (at least the males)? In addition, if the deciding factor is the environment you are raised in I would be hard pressed to believe anyone is actively encouraging their children to be homosexual so where are the influences coming from if not society and not your home life?
  18. "Its not whether you win or lose but how you play the game." You know who says that? Thats right, the losers.
  19. You make a good case but Im not sure I agree with the bolded part. Lest say you met identical twins, one male, one female. They look exactly alike except for maybe hair length and boobs (same face, height, weight, body type, etc...). You feel the only thing attracting you to one sex or the other is your upbringing? I forgot to address your point about nature breeding homosexuality out of existance if it was genetic. Has exactly that occured in all species except the great apes?
  20. So, IYO, its a choice? Its environmental? Hmm, interesting. Why would bi-sexuality be genetic? Some sort of "crossed wires" in the brain? If bi-sexuality is genetic why not homosexuality? Whats the 3rd and 4th son theory?
  21. Why, do you think homosexuality is "curable"? No, but it's not a genetic defect either. Nor is homosexuality a "flawed desire". Oh, dont get too wound up over the term "genetic defect". Genetic defects come in all sizes and shapes such as heart disease, poor eyesight, cerebal palsey, etc... I mysleft have a genetic defect which requires me to wear contact lenses. So, with that said, homosexuality is either a genetic defect or a choice. Which do you feel it is? I feel it is a defect because the number one priority of any organism is to reproduce, which obviously homosexuality prevents unless you suppress it.
  22. Why, do you think homosexuality is "curable"?
  23. @Fish: Homosexuality is a genetic defect. You cannot be turned "not gay" regardless of what that site says. All it will do is teach you to suppress your flawed desires.
  24. Im pretty sure he was in the throes of an epilectic siezure. Note how that one guy rushed him and held his arms down, prolly to prevent him from swallowing his tongue or something.
  25. Perhaps you make your entire body an antenna? Kinda like how when we had rabbit ears on our TV's the channel would always look better while you were physically holding the antenna?
