  1. The classic Army of Darkness has been running all month on HBO and every time I see its on I have to watch it. Its so deliciously bad that it comes full circle and become awesome. That scene in the graveyard right after he grabs the book and all the skeletal hands come out of the ground and start pummeling him makes me laugh my ass off every time.
  2. As frustrating as I occasionaly find you KK, I'd hate to see anything bad come of you. Luckily most of what you described is directly within your sphere of influence. From an outsider looking in, it seems you depression is the catalyst and your other issues stem off of that. Maybe try talking to family? If not family, maybe a professional? A happy mind makes for a happy body. Physical health is obviously very important too and living a healthier lifestyle makes you feel beeter in body and spirit. We all know that though, the hard part is in the execution. All I can say about that is what worked for me, bite the bullet and force yourself to eat healthier. Exercise is important too but the first order of business has to be your diet.
  3. You just going to keep whittling the timeline down till it fits your story? Since we now have to exclude the North American Indians to fit where you want this to go, how about the Palistinians? The Isrealis did what they had to do, kicked their teeth in and walled them up in a ghetto. Do you feel they are some kind of effective fighting force that will bring Israel to its knees? No, theyre an annoyance. I think your laboring under some kind of romanticized notion that the noble guerilla warrior will overcome all odds through sheer moxy, which of course is ridiculous.
  4. I see. But were getting off tangent trying to find specific examples of guerilla forces that have been sucessful and those that havent. My point is the 20 YEARS of civil war is insane and were the Indian army willing to make the tough choices the guerilla's would be wiped out. Its that lack of will that allows guerilla groups to survive and even flourish on occasion, not the fact that they are some kind of fighting force that just cant be beaten. Its a bunch of dirt farmers, not special forces.
  5. What do you consider a "sucessful" guerilla campaign? Not getting wiped out to the man? 10 mooks left over running around in the jungle?
  6. Im willing to concede that point wrt South American Indians (Aztecs, Incas) but North American Indians were little more than small, loosely organized tribes (IE: similar to small guerilla forces). But I digress. I think guerilla wars are won or lost with LoF's statement: "To attack with brutality and strength against such a foe requires overwhelming and genocidal force...". A tit-for-tat war such as Vietnam was ripe for losing, as was the Soviet involvement in Afghanistan. You will never be able to get rid of all resistance unless your willing to lay waste to the enemy in such a manner as to remove all hope of winning. That was done in the wars of yesteryear but todays conflicts, complete with live footage from imbedded journalists (whos dumb idea was that anyway?), are too worried about bad press to get the job done correctly.
  7. Recent history doesnt seem to bear this out. Every example I provided had the "complete support of the general population" (who wants to be conquered?) yet they all got their asses handed to them. The North and South American Indians outnumbered their conquerers millions to one, had home field advantage, had logistical and supply advantage and still lost. Why did they lose? Because they were out gunned. That and a little problem with smallpox.
  8. Lol, amen! Nothing makes me want to punch somebody in the face faster than a pencil moustache. Well, except for this guy:
  9. Long term civil wars like this blow my mind. 20 YEARS! Seriously? Arent there like a billion plus people in India? Why dont they mobilize, oh I dunno, 100,000-200,000 of their troops and go stomp a mudhole in the rebels? This could have been over in 6 months. - someone who does not understand guerilla warfare, 2010. Oh yes, right, because stomping a mudhole in a poorly armed group of "guerilla" warriors never works. Well except for the North and South American Indians, Palistinians, Jews, France, etc... I mean, thats just the last 250 years, do we need to go further back in history?

  11. Ahh Commando, one of Arnolds greatest. Also, 3000 Pounds! WTF, I figured the UK would have some taxpayer funded Corpse Recovery Program. How can anyone be expected to pay for burying their own family members?
  12. Hold up, I need to know more about these half-ape super soldiers. Linky?
  13. Im DRV-ing the whole series and have also caught the first two episodes. I thought they were pretty good but I never bothered with Band of Brothers so I have nothing to compare it too. The beach landing was hilarious: "What took you guys so long?"
  14. I think he's confused you with another poster, Babydol, who hit him with that response once. He used to have it in his sig and all.
  15. Yes, then it rained million dollar bills.
  16. ...
  17. Huh, I had no idea it was so strict down under. Porn is available everywhere here. Theres even an entire DVD rack of porn at the local liquor store I stop at every Friday on my way home.
  18. That one guy (the hit man) play a great "bad guy". Very Christopher Walken-esque.
  19. Heh, thats pretty cool.
  20. Eh? A game released in 2010 still has the Twin Towers in it? Methinks its time to update the graphics. Does it also still have the Collosus of Rhodes in it?
  21. The only Bluetooth Im familiar with on laptops serves the same purpose, to connect a wireless headset. This can be used for listening to music or for programs like Ventrilo.
  22. Um, they werent meant to be injected in the heart. US injectors have not only Atropine but also 2 Pam Chloride and were designed to be slammed against your thigh or rump to initiate the autoinjection.
  23. Is Geralt not human? Whats with the feline pupils?
