If you fail to complete the GR (kill the guardian) before time runs out then you can only upgrade the Gem, the Keystone will be locked out and consumed. If you complete the GR in time, you can choose which to upgrade, Gem or Keystone, but not both. Choosing one locks out the other. Wait, you can upgrade gems even if you don't finish GR? I guess it's time to go upgrade my gems by sitting in a corner. To clarify, you can still upgrade your socket-able legendary gems even if you fail the GR. You cannot upgrade your GR gem if you fail.

Fair enough. I do plan on giving it the ole college try. Ive purposely not played since BB v1 hoping that I will be pleasantly surprised by the final product.

Ive tried the BB and for me combat is....not fun. Using cheat codes is my compromise. Im notoriously fickle wrt games and have outright quit playing far more than I have completed, so cheat codes may be my only chance to see the end. As for monies, as a backer I was already committed before any of this information came to light so that's on me.

Yes, its called god mode. I would also like an instakill ability so I don't have to wait through 1hp grazes.

Interesting. I never craft because all my existing gear is better than any crafting recipes I have.

Ive never seen an Ancient drop. And I play on Torment 5.

1) When you choose to level a Gem you will be presented with all Gems, socketed or in your Stash. You can level up any Gem you want. 2) Gems work in all circumstances: Bounties, Rifts, Greater Rifts, Brawling, etc... regardless of level. Or have I misunderstood your question?

I'm not even sad. I'm impressed. How other people enjoy playing their single player game can make you sad? Weird. I like what I like and what Ive seen of PoE combat so far isn't it. So I'll either throw $52.00 into the crapper or I'll try to salvage some enjoyment from the game. Im very much looking forward to the story and stronghold but the only way for me to get there may be to enable god mode and just pimpslap all the encounters.

Hells yeah for cheat codes. I don't think PoE combat is my cuppa so god mode may be the only way I see the end of the game.

Meh, Im going to treat getting maimed the same as dying, Powerword: Reload. OTOH, I believe simply resting cures all maimings too so I guess I don't have to reload when I can rest spam w/ Sensuki's unlimited camping supply mod.

Technically, that first part where you get swarmed is called a Trial. How you perform in the Trial will set the Keystone level and determine the difficulty starting point of the Greater Rift.

How your party performs in the Trial will determine the starting level of the Keystone. Upgrading becomes more difficult the higher the level of the Gem. To level up the first 10 levels or so is relatively easy, almost any level of GR will suffice. The closer you get to 25 the higher level GR you have to complete. When you choose to upgrade your Gems you will see a % success rate when you select it. Higher level Gems have a lower % success rate to upgrade so you need progressively higher GR to upgrade higher level Gems. And yes, any level Gem is better than not using it. You do not have to wait until 25 to feel the benefits. You will notice there are two stat lines per Gem, before 25 and including 25. The before 25 stat line upgrades with every Gem level increase.

I think the legendary gems only drop in GR's. There are lots of them and they drop frequently. All three of the ones I use have been leveled to a minimum of 25, which can also only be done in GR's, just fyi.

I haven't played PoE since beta v1.0, have quick slots been removed? With up to four quick slots it seems every possible eventuality can be accounted for; one set for slashing weapon, one for crushing, one for piercing and one for....?

Definitely need a "Take all" button. With inventory being meaningless you would be stupid to not gather every bauble. A "Sell all" button would be appreciated too.

Agreed. Out of the three KS project that I backed (SRR, PoE, D:OS), SRR was the most fun for me by a huge margin. I purchased Dragonfall but never played it and Ill most likely wait for SR:HK to hit Steam before I buy it.

Grinding? Provided I can stomach the combat Ill be doing a completionist run anyway. Hahahahahahaha, suck it everyone that has less xp than me. But you can always console it in to not be "cheated" by the game for not doing everything. :winkyface:

Unfortunately, the only way to solve this "issue" is to reward all players the same xp no matter how much or how little they did in the game.

Huh, I hadn't heard about the "cant drop stuff". Whats up with that? So you can only empty your bags by selling stuff? At the end of the day I guess its meaningless since we have unlimited carry capacity but still a bit kooky, imo. My vote for bad design decision; no Healing capabilities.
