Sure, and water is wet. IMO, its hard not to leave DNA laying around and if there is almost a 100% of being identified for a crime then that will work as an effective deterrent in most cases. Of course there are lifers that don't care. More important would be the structure of the national database and getting a blood sample of everyone at birth.

Im behind ever citizen being in a DNA register. I think it would virtually wipe out crime.
