A Special Announcement From Obsidian
You guys/gals have to understand that that persona was specifically crafted to get a negative response. "Facts / truth / always right" leaves no room for discussion or exchange of opinions, its there to needle you. So I ask everyone to please address the posts and the poster will sort itself out.

*sigh* Unlicensed vendors put Kern County customers at risk for food-borne illnesses. Unlicensed vendor source of food-borne illness at Rifle Rodeo. Independent action at its finest.

Cinéma vérité - and all other types
I LOVE Starship Troopers but for years and years I had no idea it was supposed to be some scathing commentary on Nazis, or something, until you guys mentioned it. To me its just an awesome movie. Safe House I groaned when my wife turned it on but it turned out to be a pretty good action flick.

Is that right enshrined in the constitution too? Usually will make some speech and then field a few questions and ignore whatever questions they dont like. Asking those questions in real-time is an inalienable right?

Remove them all and put a microphone in their place. They may take that information and report whatever they like. Win/win. I cant believe nobody thought of this before so there must be some other loophole that they crawl through.

The Political Thread - Hobbes Edition
I get the impression that people today feel that "the press" is there for them to prevent disinformation from "the government". Why do they feel that way in light of "the press" having zero oversight? Hell, there isnt even an "honor system".

The Political Thread - Hobbes Edition
Well sure but that can be said about everything, right? I mean, the (US) separatists had already enjoyed ~81 years of "free press" (their entire lives they knew no different), so I wonder what triggered the need to enshrine that specific entity in the constitution when it was never under threat.

The Political Thread - Hobbes Edition
I was just reading the wiki for freedom of the press and I cant understand how the press scammed their way into the constitution. England had "free press" going back to 1695 so why did the writers of the constitution feel that they had to include it?

The Political Thread - Hobbes Edition
Iyo, how would you go about cleaning up a racket that is accountable to nobody and constitutionally protected to say anything they want? Call them out on it? Get them to print a retraction, weeks later, on the back page, in small font?

The Political Thread - Hobbes Edition
Good riddance. "The press" isnt beholden to be truthful or even factually accurate. Its no different than a glorified internet message board. Im not sure why people think "the press" is there for "the people".

It is kinda weird that CA has been on fire for like a decade. I cant recall the same happening in any other state?

CNN sues President Trump and top White House aides for barring Jim Acosta. I cant stands how "the press" regards itself as some sacred cow so its feels good, man, to watch them soil themselves every time Trump smacks one of them down.

Are people really still mad about GoG going offline for one day, 8 years ago, and disguising it as a joke, during a board update?

Its the internet version of storming off and slamming the door on your way out. It could be done privately but instead members choose to broadcast it to teach the offending posters a lesson. *snapsnapsnap*

nfl 2018-2019
Dez Bryant diagnosed with torn Achilles, will get MRI. That stinks. Hes not a WR1 anymore, and I was a little spooked he would have a monster game vs Dallas in a few weeks, but hate to see it happen.

Finally some sales evidence
Gfted1 replied to no1fanboy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Ive wondered that about reviews in general. I cant find it anymore but there used to be a chart that showed the percentages of players that reach milestones in a game. It was really interesting to me to see how few people finish a game, or even reach chapter two! I imagine the same occurs across all genre of games so where do reviews come from? It must be the very small percentages of players that become invested in the game?
