The Political Thread - Machiavelli Edition
It probably varies from state-to-state but here in IL, an ID costs $20 for adults, $10 for minors, and is free to the disabled. And its valid for 8 years. I suppose we can create another program for those adults that cant absorb the $2.50 annual average cost.

Im not sure about Amentep's state, but you cant do jack in IL without ID. You even need it for booze/smokes.

Huh, so if I bounce over to Gilroy and drop your name nobody will even check my ID? Yikes. Maybe Ill vote for the commies next election, in your name of course. /everythingisfine

You had better never move to GA with that mess. No doubt you can freely vote in CA? Does anyone even check anything there or everybody can just stroll up and vote?

I have a hard time complaining about voter rules being tighted / finally enforced. In my state, dead people still vote. I can commiserate with those affected right now but it seems like a simple matter to recitfy on ones personal records. Maybe just go with whatever is on the birth certificate? Sure, you can be Bob socially, but your dl says Robert. That kind of thing?

The article contains a picture of the guy and he's completely missing his nose and left eye. You can see right into the cavities. I mean, pity aside, when do the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (one)?

Yes, its a pain in the butt, but should it just be handwaved? Official documents should be official. The Georgia olvr is pretty straight forward. It includes both drivers license and written application and additionally, how to charge and update this information. Do you feel "eh, screw it, its just a technicality"?

I dont know if its true but Ive always heard that if you shoot someone below the waist it wont be considered "attemted murder". So the moral of the story is that if someone breaks into your house while you're there, shoot them in the junk. You will a lesser charge and it would probably be hilarious.

Sounds terrible if true. If we assume these statistics are accurate there are ~5.2M Native Americans, 22% of which live on a reservation and will be affected by this? So roughly 1.14M voters country wide? Of which an even smaller percentage will even bother voting? Seems weirdly specific but shouldn't be happening regardless, imo.

I remember the Pet Sematary and Christine books being so much scarier than the 1989 and 1983 movie versions.

I think it is because we currently live in a society where it is more symbolic to destroy and usurp the original than it is to simply begin anew. Or maybe we've already thought of every conceivable superpower and now we have to overlap. Hell, theres even a Superdog!

Rockland County man accused of planning Election Day suicide bombing in Washington, D.C. What a poorly thought out plan. As the media has shown us, nobody goes to the national mall. He would have more viewers doing it on Facebook.
