  1. I sniff my cats all the time. They smell kinda like hay.
  2. Its as if you didnt read beyond the first 8 words of my post. Cant debate with lunatic fringe.
  3. I dont have a huge problem with that, but it should be fair. Something like, "heres a check for <todays> value of your land and the structure on them, you have 90 days to pack you sh*t and hit the road" seems fair to me but only in cases of major infrastructure projects. But I can commiserate with these few individuals.
  4. No, never heard of it but I just read the wiki about it. Also, I see Ive been spelling eminent incorrectly.
  5. Im aware of a few examples where 10's of people were affected by imminent domain (for example, I think a bunch of farmers lost most of their acreage when Route 66 was built), and that totally sucks for them, but Im not aware of any real abuses of the system itself. Do you have any examples? To me its kinda, the need of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
  6. If you mean how much money will be invested into each project, theres a "key provisions" chart in the article I linked. If you mean how much money will be lost to mismanagement vs used for infrastructure projects, who knows. Theres also a 142% chance that any new infrastructure project will infringe on "dem bones" and be sued into oblivion. But I guess the government could bust out imminent domain. 🤔
  7. Absolutely. Infrastructure investment is always a good idea. Its one of those things that isnt visible to the everyday user, but is vital to operation. Like replacing knob-and-tube wiring of an old house. But you are right about one thing, as you yourself illustrated, everyone will qq and produce "heres 10 new problems for every solution" like they are wont to do.
  8. By The Numbers: Biden's $2 Trillion Infrastructure Plan. 👍
  9. The latest round of classes for my kid offered .pdf textbooks, which were very inexpensive to "rent".
  10. Just fyi, you can hover your cursor over your own (or anyone elses) username and choose "find content".
  11. I didnt click the link, but "the economic collapse blog dot com" made me lol.
  12. Wow, I thought he was long dead for some reason. I briefly listened to his radio show back in the 90's. Interesting life he led.
  13. I wish! Obviously, I was supposed to be born into a wealthy family, perhaps royalty even, but alas my reality is much closer to the other end of the spectrum.
  14. Just in case you didnt know, its an olden tyme term for "a wealthy and powerful person, typically one involved in business or politics."
  15. Dear god, its come full circle and Im part of the problem! As far as I can tell, its any individual (that has more than you), corporation or bank. For example, some bank lent me a tremendous amount of money at a laughable interest rate and then gave me 30 years to pay it back. But because they are making a profit off me, they are fatcats that need to be taken down a rung or two and should instead be paying me my due. Or something like that. Im kinda new to embracing this mantra.
  16. I already have a house. Does that make me a fatcat?
  17. EDIT: And she go kaboom.
  18. Being the eternal optimist Ive got my fingers crossed that someone will create a Chicago fund for Italian/Germans. But seriously, when considering the eligibility requirement of the linked program, these families need it a lot more than I do. Im getting by and all, I just dont feel like doing it anymore and want someone to carry me into my golden years. Ive literally had an unbroken chain of employment for 34 years with only sporadic vacations over that span. Is it really asking to much to be provided the basics in life like; housing / medical / education / basic income / food / utilities?
  19. Whoa, whoa, whoa...Im not looking for things that I can do to help myself, Ive been doing that my entire life. Im looking for my birthrights to come rolling in via a generous sponsors so I can better spend my time staring deeply into my navel, or interpretive dancing. You know how we do it in the West...the more you have, the more you need.
  20. Its an attractive, but temporary solution. Eventually they will surpass the average American and move out on their own. Ahahahahah, I slay me. Heres a picture of me right now: Aside, I recently had my dreams crushed. I had it in my head that I was going to retire at 62 no matter the amount of the monthly checks, then I asked Google what age you have to be to retire, and it told me 65 (because of the year of my birth)! GODDAMMIT! Will anyone of you rich peeps (Grom, LC, Hurlshot) sponsor me until I retire? Im pretty easy on the eyes if that helps.
  21. What do I have to do to get someone to cover my mortgage? Not to rub it into the bootstrapless of the world, I sincerely pity the magestic's and KP's of our world, but its my single largest monthly bill and I would very very much like to not have to pay it anymore. Its unfair that homes in my area cost <$something$> and its another of my inalienable rights to be provided a home to rest my weary bones. We need some Universal Free Housing up in here.
  22. "squee squee gimmie everything free" See! This is why I need UHC and UBI. I cant possibly be expected to care for myself and family and its totes unfair that fatcats arent financing my life.
  23. The picture was a copy / paste fail by me, but you found the same article anyway.
  24. My jaw would be suitable slack if they somehow flew them across the Pacific to harass destroyers off the California coast, but I doubt it. But I cant give a hard no either. Maybe you will find out soon? China affirms strong Serbia ties on defense tour of east Europe. But judging from their long flight time and ability to swarm and navigate in poor weather (AI?), I think its a local job.
  25. China cant figure out 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen without stealing the plans first, but they do have economics of scale.
