Not that it matters much because I'm sure everyone's opinion is well entrenched, but this argument only can really be sustained if owning a video game had joined food, water and shelter as the basic necessities of life. Otherwise its a luxury, and one nobody had to have to live. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the way the market worked there were places in Eastern Europe that games were not legally available and pirating was the only way for many to play some games. But lets not pretend that people would have collapsed and died if they'd not been able to play the game and lets not pretend that all the piracy in the world was poor people in far away places where games weren't really being distributed either. Is anyone stating something like that? All we are saying that all that years of pirating brought us to gaming and we are now spending money on it. But without pirating there would not be that large population of gamers, doubt that there will be any dev studios either, so you can say that best game of last year was brought to you by pirates

That's the part of my statement you take issue with, really? Every widespread phenomena has some cultural and social importance, all you need to do to get that is to live in a country where piracy runs rampant. Heck, there are countries which would apply mods on a game, rebrand it and sell it under a different name - now that's genuinely harmful piracy, but denying its cultural impact on countries where it actually happens would be a little silly. Anyway, the bit of my statement you actually should have taken issue with is the bit which goes on about *what* kind of importance that is, in other words, opening up to western market before it even properly arrived, because that's based purely on anecdotal evidence and my own experience. Edit: We would never talk about Doom in school if a classmate didn't bring a floppy (floppies?) with a copy from his uncle, which then quickly spread around. Majority of the games which formed my childhood were pirated - not that we knew that'S even a thing back then. And a big part of early purchases from me and my friends were based on excitement for next installments of those games or at least games which were similar. I moved around quite a lot when I was a kid/teenager so I experienced more than a single collective where this happened. Naturally, I might have just gotten lucky and what I experienced might not have been an indicative of majority at all. I'm just calling you out on your bull****. You write all these words about cultural significance and preserving of blah blah, to justify not paying for other people's work. It's nauseating. It's just your opinion and it's worthless. who is not from east europe will never understand probably, but I am pretty sure that for example guys from CD project pirated like crazy when they were young

Been trying to find data on 2015 immigration for Germany; breakdown by age, country of origin and sex. No dice, my Google-Fu is weak. Care to share the data you used to "speculate"? By the way, your projections rest on a million immigrants arriving per year, constantly for 14 years, with 100% of asylum seekers obtaining permanent resident status. You are also comparing somewhat different demographic groups (15-24 vs 18-30). At any rate, I'm fairly certain that demographic forces don't obey (y = mx + n) over any significant period. But hey, what do I know... Been trying to find data on 2015 immigration for Germany; breakdown by age, country of origin and sex. No dice, my Google-Fu is weak. But hey, what do I know... Well even most immigrants now confess that they want their family to move to them as well, there is some law that allows this. Now imagine that each immigrant will bring parents and 4 siblings. Numbers start to stack pretty fast

And interesting hypothesis for sure. Is there data that correlates? The problem of course is, for both of us, that almost all research comes with a normative bias. So we're likely to both, fairly easily, find data to prove our points. not exactly what we are looking for but its telling something dont you think? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_France According to INSEE, since 2004, 200,000 immigrants entered annually into the country. One out of two was born in Europe and one in three in Africa. Between 2009 and 2012, the number of Europeans entering France increased sharply (+ 12% per year on average).[4] The national birth rate, after dropping for a time, began to rebound in the 1990s and currently the country's fertility rate is close to the replacement level. According to an INSEE 2006 study, "The natural increase is close to 300,000 people, a level that has not been reached in more than thirty years."[5]

Or... you could look at the birth rate development of the entire world and see that it's doing a free fall as education is spreading. Or base your conclusions on whatever you feel like, without any data or in spite of it, to justify your assumption. It's a free country... But to answer your question less sarcastically, yes immigrants who arrive from basically anywhere but the most developed parts of Asia and Europe, irregardless of religion, will have a higher birth rate than native women - what's much more interesting is their children. What does our data say there, if you should harbor a guess? I will try to find some even tho I think they are not available due to fact that ethnicity data were banned in few places now. However are you implying that percentage of immigrants and their children in eg. France are not higher than lets say before 20 years?

Well tell that to native americans (i know different situation) However this study is for immigrants to U.S. and believe me, get into USA is not easy even for wealthy well educated people. You could take as example Canada, it would have even better numbers

Still not getting it, mass immigration and higher birth rates must mathematically lead to greater population than original one, now is even problem with mathematics? xD

Dont you think it can change when they became majority? Well that is almost impossible in any Western country and then they would have to change the Constitution of there adopted country Do you seriously think somehow Muslim refugees are going to become the dominant group in any European country? I dont think there are enough of them and the EU would never allow that number of refugees in to any country Well its not only about immigration but also about birth rate, you know, they dont use birth control...

I feel you need something to back up this claim. It's like saying most christians would like to ban sex before marriage. Some certainly would, but most? Very doubtful. did you read it? http://www.pewforum.org/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-overview/

No, but media/german goverment portrayed immigrants as refugees from war torn Syria (state with reasonable education and quite high culture which can mingle with 'west' culture without much problem) as beneficial for our society and/or at least refugees from war. Where in reality its just mass economic migration from cultures which 'west' can't mingle with as long as there will be at least some people believing in freedom of speech and women equality basically they tell you that all immigrants are Syrian doctors where in fact its much more Eritrean goatherd

I have to be honest I'm not sure really what you guys are getting at with raising these issues of increased inappropriate behavior from the refugees? I thought we all agreed that due to the social and historical precedence that there would be a small element within the refugees that would commit this type of behavior But surly no one is suggesting this is normal conduct for Muslims from the ME ? I would agree that in certain countries like Pakistan there are real issues with how women get treated but before the war I don't think Syria was a country that was notorious for treating women badly? Well its only delusion that most of the refugees are Syrians....
