  1. I have an RSS wherever someone mentions "bukkake" on teh intrawebz. So... where is it?
  2. The problem is that the models they use for morph targets in the facemaker are rubbish. They could hire a freelance character artist to get some proper nice faces there, but I suppose Bethesda will be Bethesda.
  3. It wasnt meant dismissively at all, and that wikipedia search increased my trivia knowledge by +5 :D But Alpha Protocols storyline is still dumb as hell. James Bond meets 24 as written by a dyslexic orangutang.
  4. For me Sie got captured, which was weird because they never explain how or why. They probably removed a cutscene that should have been there,
  5. That is so incredibly annoying! You're exploring a level and suddenly a door jams shut so you cant go back and get that upgrade or intel piece that was in the room you were going to go to next. I suppose its because they couldnt get the engine to stream the levels properly, so they had to hack them into pieces and unload the stuff behind you as you enter a new cell. Which should not be necessary at all with the U3 engine.
  6. The story is incoherent and confusing (not to mention complete rubbish) and made even worse by the fact that it seems large parts are missing.
  7. Im just saying that Halbech using that missile is on par with a bank robber leaving his wallet with drivers license and home adress at the bank.
  8. Of course I havent read it. I think its a marvel of technology that Wikipedia allows me to stay in the loop even without having read an abundance of historic military litterature. But it was all aimed at my argument that the idea that some smelly terroists could sneak into Lockheed or Raytheon and walk away with a whole bunch of fully functioning secret prototype missiles is ridicilous. And that using it as a plot device is unbelievably clumsy, when they could just have had Halbech supply the terroists with weapons they were likely to have like old soviet rockets. It would have been much more spy-ish.
  9. You should read the book 'BRIXMIS'. That was ages ago. And to my knowledge, those british chaps never walked away with a complete weapon system. They did steal bits and pieces but never something like a whole batch complete and ready-to-shoot of anti-air missiles.
  10. Obsidian making Dungeon Siege 3 is like having a gourmet chef microwave you a hot pocket. Complete waste of time and talent.
  11. Cutting-edge military tech is more heavily guarded than the president. It does not get stolen. Parts of plans etc. might be leaked through espionage or pure accident but a complete weapon system? Not bloody likely. Its such a blatantly ham-fisted plot hook, Halbech more or less painted a target in their forehead and screamed "Wohoo, we're evil! Come get us!!" It's one thing to have a bad or barely-existant plot if your game doesnt revolve around a story, but for a game like Alpha Protocol where a big part is to unravel the mystery/conpiracy its just stupid.
  12. Regarding AP, Halbech has to be a bunch of complete idiots. Do they supply the terrorists with some no-name russian missiles to shot down planes with? No, they give them some special prototype thingie that only they produce. Its like signing the bullets with your name and adress before murdering someone.
  13. Im struggling to finish it. I felt boredom set in after Rome and halfway through Moscow, and now Im just rushing through the rest to see how it ends. Not that I expect the ending to be any good, the whole "evil company wants to start WW3" plot is ridicilous from start to finish.
  14. A friend stuck me a copy of Metro 2033 and Im just blown away, its so incredibly well-made.
  15. "Michael, what the hell! Why did you just go all israel on that innocent russian stripper?!" "It was self-defense... and she was probably an anti-semite."
  16. In a democracy, you have every right to disobey and protest against an unreasonable law, and you should never have to suffer violent treatment or persecution because of it. The law is not some holy commandment that you have to accept no matter how ridicilous or unethical it may be. (obviously, this doesnt apply to self-evident stuff like murder being illegal and so on.) I believe your founding fathers were quite down with this idea, and they also added that the people should always be able to overthrow a goverment that is no longer acting in the best interest of the people.
  17. I dont see how you can reasonably take Israels side in this. The fact is that they boarded civilian ships on international water in a clear breach of international law, and in the process killed and injured a large number of civilians. There is no defending that. The argument that the civlians resisted violently is moot, because they had every right to defend themselves against the attack by the same international laws. There were no terrorists or contraband on those ships and Israel knew that. This was meant to be a show of force to discourage further activist help to the Palestinians. A part in the plan to make living conditons in gaza so appaling that the Palestinians will leave on their own accord.
  18. Alpha Protol seriously lacks polish in several areas, and has some odd design ideas in others and that's why its getting mediocre review scores. I expected it to play and look much better than it ended up, it's an Unreal3 engine game after all. ...and on a personal level I also quite dislike playing an obnoxious **** like Mike Thorton, possibly the least likeable player character Ive seen in years.
  19. The same applies tenfold for BMW's a.k.a "the ****mobile"
  20. A friend of mine says this bug doesnt happen when using a gamepad to play with, can anyone confirm that?
  21. No amount of imagination can fix a broken game.
  22. Thats what I meant. They just slap on a heavy sepia or cyan tone and go "There, fixed it" instead of working with textures and lighting and THEN just slightly tweaking it with color grading.
  23. One telltale sign is that they're seemingly relying very heavily on color grading during post processing to produce a coherent look for each level.
  24. One thing that bothers me is the lack of animation blending. Each individual loop is good, but the engine just does cold snaps between them. Im pretty sure Unreal3 has built-in animation blending/interpolation, so Im curious what went wrong.
