  1. With widescreen monitors its important to think about how large your work area will be. In most cases its useless to buy one smaller than 24" because you will end up with less vertical aera than an regular 19" monitor. You gain a few unusable inches to the sides at the cost of useful vertical space.
  2. But you should always watch the specs, Ive seen brand new TFT's with like 130/140 viewing angle. Especially since they measure it strangely so it might actually be much less.
  3. I think this is very silly. But the christians do have a huge lead over the muslims when it comes humour.
  4. Are they angry because he was sculpted nude or because he was sculpted in chocolate?
  5. I have a REALLY good monitor Eizo S1931. It has really good colour representation and light balance, with a 178 degree view. of course.. its more like 500
  6. At my uni department we use laptops for everything from programming to sculpting high-res meshes in Zbrush andmudbox, and with 50 peole using laptops of all makes(from alienware to acer) and sizes(a freshman recently bought onee of those giant 20" models) I have a lot of experience. Most laptops will start to break down after 6 months, after a year there will be guaranteed faults and after 2 years they should be replaced. Exceptions exist but only confirms the rule. My 18month old Acer 5024 has broken down once already and the screen is about to come off, just from normal daily use. Never ever buy a used laptop unless the warranty is still valid, you will just end up paying so much for repair and service that you could have bought a shiny new one for that money instead.
  7. Are you stalking me again?

  8. I had a crash problem prior to installing the patch, I solved it by reloading from a savegame earlier than when the crashes started. You could try the same
  9. The EU does not have a formal military coalition force, not in any way the authority to suggest its member countries to take military action. And even if we did have an army standing by, there is noone outside of The US/UK coalition that would be willing to attack Iran. We've all seen how much Iraq has and is costing the US, and no goverment would be willing to bancrupt their countries in the same way. A war on Iran demands a full-scale invasion because what you need to accomplish is ot just a simple disruption of their fighting ability, but a complete toppling of their entire political and religious machine. Anything less than that would fail to do anything to change their standing as the worls premier instigator and sponsor of extremist islamist violence.
  10. My Avatar is Lucy from http://www.gaimanmckeanbooks.co.uk/wolves.htm and my sig is just a random collection of my own quotes I slaved for three days and three nights and all I got was a nothing.
  11. Those are not spoilers. Without the patch you can only get scopes by looting the dead around the bar and further into the zone. Attachments are used by simly dragging them on top of the weapon you want to attach it to in the inventory. Only some weapons can use attachements and it must be the right model for that gun
  12. There are a lot of people who would like to see a war on Iran, but the fact remains that there is currently no one capable of undertaking an invasion.
  13. Kaftan's Amazing STALKER mod is under construction! Although its more a rebalancing than a mod, but Ive gotten everything to work so its just alot of tweaking left.
  14. That box is friggin' awesome! Mine should arrive next week, until then Im replaying with the patch installed so I can have a savegame where I stopped playing with the unpatched pirated version. Hopefully, Stalker will mean a revival of the postapocalyptic setting in games
  15. That could be cool. But you should try playing on higher difficulty settings as well. Both damage and accuracy appear to increase at higher difficulty levels (for the AI not for you ) . At veteran level (which is not even the highest setting) combat is really hard (at least combined with the patch changes). The AI is much more accurate and will shoot your face off if you poke it out from behind an obstacle. Thats the BAD side of RainbowSix(thankfully not nowadays, R6Vegas offers very entertaining AI) and not what I was intending to emulate No, I just want to be able hit and kill what I aim at. Stalker suffers far too much from the oldschool FPS mentality of "Its fun to shoot, so lets make it so you have to spray an entire clip into an enemy to kill him, yeah.. thats good game design"
  16. Writing dialogue is something only a handful of people can do well, but BioWare needs to improve theirs. A good start would be to change the "evil path" from a bastardly, petty and mean evil to a cynical, intelligent evil. Less schoolyard bully and more Machiavellian My neighbour promised me he'd lend me his chipped 360 to play it with No mony for BioWare! ..until it's released for the PC "
  17. It's quite easy to hack the game, so Im thinking about making a small modification to make it play more like a Rainbow Six game in terms of weapon accuracy and damage.
  18. I tried a pirated version of this game and its totally sweet so Ive just ordered me a Collector's Edition
  19. Iran has a standing army much larger and more advanced than what Iraq had in 1991 or 2003. Britain would not have a chance on their own, and the U.S is too economicly stretched to handle both the rebuilding of Iraq and mount a full-scale war in Iran no matter how much theyd like to.
  20. Dont be daft. Do you really think theres even a slight possibility of that happening?
  21. Many of my friends have Wii's, some have 360's, none have a PS3
  22. Alot of people from my Uni are now at Starbreeze and have been working on that game, its a good developer and the game should disapoint noone.
  23. I prefer singleplayer games with a strong mature story and lots of character interraction. But when it comes to having fun wih my friends then its shooters all the way (while yelling obscenities and throwing random objects around). As you all know by now, I strongly dislike MMO's. And I give you again the Hypothesis of Kaftan: You cant have a story where the protagonists outnumber every villain and supporting act by 100:1 You cant change a world that has to appear the same to a million players Without a story or a world they can change, the player is stuck with performing trivial tasks that have no effect on the world around them. Since performing trivial tasks and being unable to actually accomplish anything is boring, MMO's are boring*
  24. Ive only played Vampire, I never liked any of the spinoff games. I think The Enemy Within campaign and especially SoB are overrated. They might have been amazing compared to what was available for D&D back in the early 80's but they're very average and strangely written adventures. ...its so obvious who the villain in SoB is, youll spend about 15min in B
