Fallout 3 : Ideas and suggestions
I'm checking my sarcasm meter. All that talk of hairy deathclaws...

What are you playing now....
I loved the GC version of FireEmblem to bits.

Serenity
I'll probably catch it if/when it comes to cable. I never watched Firefly (might have seen one episode if it's the one with the Buffy cast).

Well Suikoden Tactics is rather good. I'm still not the worlds biggest fan of cell shading though. The rune system is similiar to the one in Suikoden IV (find buy runes and get them stuck on in a shop) but only certain classes can use certain runes. As in SIV some characters come with runes which you cant change. Combat is like a cross between Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics. You can't change weapons, you sharpen just like before. Unlike FE facing is important and you get bonuses for side and rear attacks. The unique stuff. OWLS !!! Characters can combine to use combo attacks. The element of the panel you are on determines whether you get any bonus' or minus' to your base scores. Standing on a positive panel will also heal you. Standing on a negative one will hurt. It's kind of funny trapping a boss and then changing it's panel :D There are characters you just come across, characters you recruit and some that wont show up unless you do certain things. It's not that difficult, though getting an S rank definately is. I'm averaging B so either I'm out of practice , or the game is tougher than I'm giving it credit for (although most likely it has a weird way of calculating rank). The story starts before the events in IV (which is really more tutorial levels). And then continues after it. Can't say the story makes a great deal of sense right now. Although it does fill in some gaps, or clarify some things from IV. Kind of a slow starter but It picks up. And did I mention OWLS ???

As long as they put vehicles in there.

Morrowind questions, need help please
Oblivion kind of merges the two. So blocking is more effective if your character has a good block skill and hitting does more damage if your character has good weapon skills. Probably quite similiar to how they do it in sports games. You play the character but within the bounds of their abilities.

Bit pointless having the rights if your not going to use them. I've got nothing against GURPS. SPECIAL turned out well though.

Yes there was. Someone else (EA I think) had the rights. Fallout was originally going to be a GURPS liscence too, till that fell through and they had to invent SPECIAL in a hurry.

Fallout 3 : Ideas and suggestions
I think one of the reasons that worked on FO was because the method of travel was so abstract. It's not like Morrowind where you can wander around for hours and see nothing of particular interest. I found it very easy to become dissasociated with Morrowinds story because of the wandering around , as well as finding out I was somewhat godlike when I got back on track.

Some travel guides suggest you dont make a big deal about being American.

Movies you like that everyone else hates.
I can't believe anyone likes Super Mario Brothers.

Not really talking about a different genre though. But rather the sort of RPGs that Bethesda like to make. And are known for.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
You should be able to get by with a T as long as your not talking about "realisitc lightsaber-1" kind of dismemberment. Chopping things in half and heads flying all over the place.. Don't think that will fly. If it happens in torture scene (like it would have in KOTOR II) then you will be in M terrirtory.

I could live with that.

Is anyone asking for that ? I mean there is new as in wasnt in Fallout 1or2 , but if it were based on Oblivion , then that would hardly be innovative. The main reason for not "remaking" Fallout , is because people have moved away from TB games of that type , especially RPGs. If this is going to be a 360 crossover too, well there was one TB game on the Xbox that I can think of and that was Gladius which was hardly what you would call a blockbuster.

How old is the Sims ?

Oh I dont doubt thats true either. But since there is no known factor when you have something new like the DS it's much easier to get some innovation going. For example if you look at the PSP which dosnt have innovative hardware, you will see the usual suspects (more GTA, Racing Games etc).

Just the ones I can think of right now. Nintendogs Katamari Trauma Center That Japanese cheerleading game who's name I can never remember. Not exactly on topic, but one of the reasons you dont see new concepts is because of the hardware. Because the hardware hasnt changed people get into a habbit of thinking a particular way. For example you couldnt have Nintendogs without a microphone although you could arguably scratch with a mouse pointer, the stylus is also a big part of the game. Am I the only one seeing the irony here ? People are talking about new concepts but are constantly asking for games which are the same as those released years ago. Oh I was just told to add Dance Dance (the thing with the dance mat) and Singstar.... Although I'd really rather not. And those Eye Toy games.

Feargus video interview
I don't see the point in arguing that Diablo isnt an RPG since by every objective measure. Even the definition that Jediphile posted himself it is.

As long as they maintain the look and feel I'm happy. I'm more likely to do the exploring thing if I can do it in a series of vehicles. It still needs to be edgy and "mature" although not over the top. And that PA meets wildwest frontire All the usual suspects have to be there. Ghouls, SuperMutants etc. Beyond that , they can do what they like with the mechanics. As long as the game isnt dull.

As I said if they want to branch out. Perhaps they are getting bored of nothing but fantasy. A property gives you a good placed to start as well as lots of shortcut potential. Having FO3 also helps with the hype factor as you can see from the article. Another PA game would not generate that sort of controversey and hence free publicity.
