  1. It is if the magazine article isnt a windup.
  2. Ah, but acording to his diaries he was just a misunderstood old chap. Quite friendly really. Grand Moff Tarkin, so misunderstood... " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have to be at least a bit evil to blow up a planet. You would think if he knew who Leia was he may have shared the info (from the diaries).
  3. Your more than welcome to think it. I thought you were stating it as a matter of fact.
  4. After his performance in Clone Wars Greivous was a joke. I put it down to Mace force crushing his chest , but he was much better in Clone Wars
  5. 1. Never know will we. 2. Then thats your fault for not developing him. KOTORII requires more input on your part where as in KOTOR regardless of how much effort you put in you still end up with the pregen character. 3. Kreia never tried to fool anyone. Not sure how anyone could think otherwise. Except it dosnt require a fan made restoration project, thats just something that people are doing. The game plays fine without it and I understood the plot with a little effort.
  6. I presume you have seen the advertising on ceral boxes and the like for EPIII? Most of it has Darth on the box, and yet Darth is in EP III for all of 30 seconds if that. As for black and white, well in a movie things need to be more straightforward because you have to get the story across in 2 1/2's games on the hand last 30-40 hours so a movie plot is painfuly transparent in that time frame. One of the great mysteries of the universe will always be what would KOTORII have been had it not run into such serious time problems.
  7. No idea, people like Tarkin were far more evil that Vader at least according to the films.
  8. You seem to have a "problem" when it comes to missing things. The influence system works differently with your character around. Much of it's goofyness is down to the Exile. KOTOR and KOTOR II are very different. While KOTOR II didnt reach it's full potential because of a tight schedule and "other factors" KOTOR didnt have much to begin with, 2d NPCs a paper thin story and a "plot twist" that borded on embaressing in it's obviousness. Also the count isnt specific to the KOTOR boards, if you check the profile I think most of them are in general gaming.
  9. I wasn't specifically referring to the specs of each machine. I was referring more to what the console can achieve in real terms. We've already discovered that both the PS3 and X360 real time demos were run on PCs. They didn't tell us that to start with, and that's the kind of lying I'm talking about. And I don't think the Blu-ray discs are an adavantage. Most current games don't even fill a standard single layer DVD, so it's unlikely the full capacity of the Blu-ray discs will be used. They're just costly alternatives to normal DVDs. I suppose the best situation would be to release KOTOR III on all next generation platforms, as long as they develop it for the most powerful platform and port it to the others and not the other way round. That way, everybody can play the game to the capabilities of their console, and nobody misses out on playing this game just because they own the wrong console. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well it's down to the developers to pull out the potential of the PS3 but hey when you have Squenix , not much to worry about on that score. FF Neo Actually when it comes to JRPGs which are loooooong 2 disks isnt uncommon for 80-100 hour playtimes. Considering the graphical upgrades, full VO's etc blueray is going to be very handy although I dont see it kicking in till later in the consoles lifespan. If however it does pickup the 360 will be obsolete as it just wont be able to compete and cross platforming will seriously hold back the PS3. Exclusives are always going to be the bread and butter of consoles. Also if you look at any of the console titles its the exclusives that are the best on the system.
  10. Not just that. Someone he cared about like a brother was turning into a charcoal briquette before his eyes.
  11. Dosnt make sense anyway unless Bali Organas wife died just after she was adopted.
  12. Well your words say otherwise.. While additional plays of the game from other perspectives (DS/Female) came at the plot from different directions cant say I had a problem working out what was going on. There are many different places to gain influence. Compared to some other influence systems i've played this one isnt particularly obscure. But for people used to being spoonfed ala NWN/KOTOR probably a bit of a shock to the system.
  13. Hanhaar would have made a seriously scary sith maurader.

  15. No it dosnt , that is your problem not a problem of the influence system. Why not ? Why dont you roleplay your character rather than worrying about maximising influence, you will enjoy the game far more.
  16. No KOTOR comes way down the list. People tend to give it an easy time for two reasons. First because its a Star Wars game, second because there is bugger all else on the Xbox when it comes to RPGs and PC RPGs have been pretty much non existent too. Dosnt even come close to Biowares earlier RPGs. Yes well i'm sure when you have been around here for as long as I have you will have a fair few posts too.
  17. The whole thing was silly. And given where they ended up after the fight it still dosnt make a whole lot of sense(aside from having to fit with EPIV) that Obi Wan didnt finish him off.
  18. This was on another message board. Possibly should have put a chain mail vest on instead of pants.
  19. The 360 should retail at $299 with each unit sold costing MS $75 (in other words they make a $75 loss on each console). No details on a PS3 pricepoint, or how much each unit will cost Sony.
  20. A Shanghai court has given 41 year-old Qiu Chengwei a suspended death sentence for murdering a man following a row over a virtual weapon. As we reported back in April, Qiu loaned Zhu Caoyuan, a fellow player of MMORPG Legend of Mir, his 'dragon sabre' for use in the game. Zhu then sold the weapon to another gamer for 7200 yuan ($870). Police told Qiu they could not charge Zhu with any crime as there is nothing in Chinese law regarding ownership of virtual property. Advertisement Zhu died after Qiu visited his home and stabbed him in the chest. Qiu later turned himself in to police and pled guilty to "intentional injury". The suspended death sentence is equivalent to a life prison term, with a possibility of parole in 15 years. Zhu's parents have already announced their intention to appeal for a harsher sentence. His father, Zhu Huimin, said: "My son was only 26 when he died. He was sleeping when Qiu broke into his home. He was barely able to put his pants on before Qiu stabbed him. "We want Qiu to die, and immediately," he added.
  21. Plagius obviously not that good at cheating death... Id still like to know how come Darths force ghost in the reedited movies is that much younger than Obi Wan..
  22. Sorry dont understand what you mean there. You want a list of how to find each piece of evidence ? I can do that.
  23. As Ender already said in KOTOR the NPCs are static. Bastilia finds out her fathers lunch, and reconciles with her mother. Yet shes still the same Bastila that you met on Telos those events have no effect on her. Ditto for Carth and all the others. NPCs in KOTOR II change, over time they change quite significantly because of their relationship with you. Just one of the many things that makes KOTORII superior. The only one that is really beyond change is Kreia and that just further reinforces her superiorty to you :D Heres something a lot of people seem to miss. Talk to your second squad leader after they come back from Dxun.
  24. The only way anyone could think KOTOR was the best game ever was if they played very few games.
  25. Wouldnt be the first time would it..
