  1. Yeah, no, the camera is no longer an issue in MoB. Getting paralyzed by red-robed twit-faces is the problem.

It's just my paladin and a friendly Thay wizard against two bum-rushing, planar-binding evil Reds and their two succubii minions, plus whatever else. I got a lot closer this last time, all pre-buffed and everything, but Freedom of Movement as a spell doesn't last long. I found a scroll of Power Word: Petrify, but the wiz-hats are either protected or invalid targets.

It's cool, I'll figure it out by the end of the weekend. Unless I decide to go read more comic books. Since I do that now. Me, and the cool kids.

  2. Oh my god, I just got wiped all over the floor and out the door by two Red Wizards of Thay, their summons, and two succubus-looking badass winged females who successfully knockdown every time my paladin. Like I mean six times in a row they pummeled me. It's the first battle in this theatre, in this town right after leaving the barrow prologue to Mask of the Betrayer. Admittedly I didn't really go in prepared, and I see it's pointless to let Safiya cast her own spells--I'm gonna have to micro-manage every turn, which is cool. I hate how long Paralysis and Stun last.

  3. I see the 10k Raptor 1TB is $30 off this weekend, to $169. I want it, but I want solid-state more, for the money.

What a great deal that Seagate was, I never thought Tiger Direct did stuff like that.

  4. In any event, the writing cracks me up.

"Ernst here is apparently a doombot, with instructions to take me back to Latveria if I go against my father's wishes. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't see this coming--my wet nurse; the time Captain America took me on an adventure when I was nine; most of my pets; my first three girlfriends ... doombots, doombots, doombots."

  5. I've used sponges to create dramatic effects with wall paint and concrete stain. Never to clean up spilled damage before, though. Not even sure what that would look like. Oily, or sticky, probably not sandy or dry. There is a scene in The Transporter when he beats the pants off a bunch of baddies after coating the floor in motor oil--maybe it was actually a barrel-full of damage.

  6. Went to Comics-N-Stuff for the 2014 run of She-Hulk, since I'm a savage and sensational Jen fan, now, thanks to this impressive two-part costume-history write-up.

Also, the 2014 Black Widow, because female assassins.

My first two collections, pretty exciting.

  7. Up to, and including, LSD? People need their responsibly-applied inter-dimensional gateway drugs.

Today is no work and all Mask of the Betrayer. Haven't played since '07 I think, and never finished! Really excited after playing the prologue, the graphics are exceptional and I feel like it's a good hold-over until Eternity.

  8. I don't understand what's up with these new games, installation size is skyrocketing but without a perceivable technological leap. I read that Wolfenstein has a 44 gig installation, Van Helsing 2 is 20 gigs, what are they thinking,,,

It appears to be uncompressed audio files. Of the 48 GB size of Titanfall, 35 are "completely uncompressed audio."

Another performance worry was tackled with sheer disk space - the 48GB install has around 35GB of uncompressed audio. Most games use compressed sound files, but Respawn would rather spend CPU time on running the game as opposed to unpacking audio files on the fly.

  9. Cool. Just subscribed to She-Hulk. Mostly to spite that rat bastard, but also because she's green, and smart, and kicks ass. Interesting style in this volume, looks like.

Also, can EA or Warner Bros. please alter the release date of their respective titles, Inquisition and Shadows of Mordor, both on October 7. I need some breathing room between one or the other, thanks.

  10. Well, if superheroes have anything to do with social justice in real-life, search what was said yesterday about the She-Hulk character by the writer of Batman V. Superman (and other DC films) David Goyer. Offensively sexist, vulgar, and condescending only begin to describe it. No wonder I frickin' hated The Dark Knight Rises.

  11. Virtually no negativity at all from half-a-dozen sources previewing Shadows of Mordor today. I like the tone of the developer, too, I mean literally the words out of his mouth, when quoted in several of those articles. Could be a half-decent experience, this game.

  12. Finished a first-time HL2 play-through. It's weird, but I think I know where the inspiration for Bioshock Infinite came from.

I am also pretty damn sure Judith, the woman in the white sweater, was voiced by Ensign Ro. Let me check on that, I just saw her name in the credits ... yes, it's her. TNG, represent.
