  1. The Arcane Dampener and Deprive the Unworthy thing is most likely a bug: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83422-deprive-the-unworthy-and-arcane-dampener/?do=findComment&comment=1758360
  2. It's not like I enjoy it either; it's a lesser of two evils thing. Playing without an item I really want is less enjoyable for me than cheating to get it. I would much rather get the item legitimately, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
  3. I think it changes with every patch, thus making the spreadsheet obsolete
  4. If that is the case, all I can say is "terribad". I can live with random loot when that means I'm getting all items for sure in at least one copy, but I don't know in which order. Random with no guarantee of finding specific items in a play through is bad. Random + rare items spawn less frequently is irritating. Thankfully we can cheat...
  5. Hah! I think I've found the Gauntlets of Swift Action in my every play through--and you know what's funny? I've never used them. Not once. I might use them in my TWM pt. II play through if I find them, which is moot (they seem to get incredibly elusive once you actually have a use for them. Have I already mentioned my hating random generated loot?)
  6. In absolute terms, I consider Retaliation to be a better and more powerful ability than Preservation. Sure, the former is more common but I can't complain, since it is also more effective
  7. Thanks for pointing this out, Aarik. Keeping my fingers crossed for 3.0. At least I don't have to create a repro case for this when I'm back home next week :D
  8. ^ I meant, how come it is harder for you to test things post 2.0? Boeroer - what does the Preservation ability do on the alternative version of the helm? I've always taken the other one.
  9. Dat art, man. Also: Soulbound sabre confirmed? Regardless, art in PoE is spectacular, imho. Great graphic design.
  10. Would be great is f this was fixed in 3.0 (I don't think it was fixed in 2.03 but I might be wrong.) Will test when I'm back home and provide a test case if the bug persists.
  11. It's one of the spirits that can do that; not sure which one exactly as they always appear in bulk and I've never bothered to check the log for that particular ability. Maybe the Battery Siren (or however it is called)? I got it 100% of the times and thought it was actually good encounter design. It would be annoying if every encounter with spirits had that, but it's good to have it spice things up in a couple encounters. The long-duration Stun is rather annoying though. I'm all for enemies using afflictions against you, but there has to be a way out for you.
  12. I think it's a general issue with companion A.I.; it engages enemies in a certain radius regardless of whether they are within sight. Guess there might be an issue with the radius too?
  13. Now I'm really torn between this and the monkish rogue I wanted to build. Love the black and gold looks, by the way!
  14. With pre-rendered 2D backgrounds, rotating camera is simply not possible. PoE is a throwback to IE games, which means - among other things - pre-rendered 2D backgrounds. God deliver us from a full 3D experience that looks half as hideous as WL2.
  15. What's your idea of "proper magic" and how is PoE failing under that aspect? (I've never played Eye of the Beholder.)
  16. I too only start using potions later on and mostly skip them for trash encounters. For important fights, however, I just must have them
  17. You can get many potions crafted in a completionist run, but as ingredients are shared across potions and scrolls, it can be a matter of choices and trade offs. I usually only craft potions of DAOM and I like being able to have many. If I run out and must go through an important fight without, I will not enjoy that fight. But I'm crazy weird like that. Not too many merchants sell ingredients for the potion of DAOM and only one sells it; if you run out and want to stack many, it gets tedious (speaking from experience.)
  18. ^ bash is generally not great for DPS as its damage is very low; the time it takes to attack with bash would almost always be better spent attacking with your main weapon. Besides, there's a bug in the game preventing Two Weapon Fighting from working with Bash. Bonuses to attack speed are a very good DPS boost IF 1) you deal good damage per swing and/or 2) you have DR bypass. In those cases, the benefits of high speed increase as the length of the fight increases (but attacking faster than your opponent is always good regardless.) Stacking it up to 100% or very close to that is great but either not sustainable or very limiting in terms of flexibility (you must use certain abilities, talents, equipment, etc.) Not that I'm complaining, mind you; I'm very satisfied with the DPS I reached with my LoP build
