The game would be kind of disorienting with all the short comments for giant orlans lol -
Lands untainted by the gods would be interesting, maybe some sort of isolated Engwithin culture that still practices a purer form of animancy. "Purer" might not be the *best* word. But I'm being pedantic. It would be really interesting to see if its culture and Form of animancy survived more directly. Some or most of the animancy experiments we've found in the ruins are pretty creepy and messed up.

She has three possible variations of a conversation when you ask how she's been doing. I think. In the case you're referring to, she got a huge reward /rewards from it and was promoted /assigned to a good duc. That's not exactly what she said but I'm going off memory. *But* it was definitely at the expense of the Dyrwood. What's interesting is if she followed orders and the Dyrwood was strengthened. I think she still was rewarded but it resulted in an all out war that sounds pretty ****ed up. It seems like someone "loses" no matter the choice. I heard the Watcher returns to the Dyrwood following the ending slides. Maybe it is best to save it if she acts the same either way aside from opening conversations.Again going off memory, but if she disobeys orders and the Dyrwood is strengthened, she's either essentially spared or rewarded. I can't remember exactly. But yeah, making sure Pallegina is okay without doing it at the expense of others is hard. . Which is part of what makes her interesting to me. The player has to decide if they care more about a companions well being or a huge number of faceless people. It's also atypical for a companion quest to be so counterintuitive. Edit : but yes, the large majority or all of her dialogue related to Deadfire - not her past (her initial conversations) - are the same I think.

Achilles - I didn't know about that! Is there a quote or something somewhere? --- I suspect it conveniently works out as slightly less work, but they *did * put in different content based on what you did. At least in the beginning. And it doesn't surprise me even slightly that Pallegina remains loyal to the Republics. I'm sure if there would have been a notable difference based on her previous paths, they would have written that in.

Yeah, that requires assassinating the queen, so... I don't know if you can keep Pallegina with the RDC, but I think you can keep Tekehu in specific conditions. -

I think Verde is referring to the fact that you can resolve the issues you're referring to. The Gullet turns into a haven for the Roparu if you resolve the problem via the Eothasian efforts, and maybe directly through the Huana royalty, and then don't mess them up with the RDC or similar. -

It was intended hyperbole, the only real faction that I like is Furrante's Principi since he's honest about what he does. The Huana practice a worse form of slavery with the Roparu, tricked a dragon into slavery, and probably a number of other idiotic things; but they're the "natives" that dindu nuffin' to most people. Oh! My apologies on that then. I've seen a surprising number of people talk about it like that in a way that sounds pretty straightforward and serious. I think one of the cool things is that they are the natives, and they *are* getting ****ed over, but the system their country is forming from isn't perfect itself. Someone mentioned they were from a country that experienced colonialism and that Deadfire does a really good job at showing the nuances of the issue. On a side note : I don't think the Roparu are equivalent to slavery - at least when they're supported properly by their society. It makes me uncomfortable that no one has a choice in what they do, and that sucks, but it is done in a collective family /community kind of way where they make sure everyone is taken care of of and contributes. And that has advantages (like a proper support system) that other systems do not. The dragon thing is pretty ****ed up. The Huana acted out of desperation to protect themselves and grow (if I remember right), but that was at the complete expense and freedom of someone else - even more so, someone that was a sort of guardian for the archipelago. -

I get the appeal of that. I kind of half hoped I could get away with a wild card, because that's what I did in New Vegas, but I think that would sort of defeat the point. That issue wasn't supposed to have a clean, perfect resolution. -

I think calling them morally bankrupt is a little simplistic. None of the factions are perfect or entirely evil. -
I wrote it off as nonsense too, but people have pointed out that they could actually be referencing past or future events. So I thought this guy might be a Cassandra type - you write him off when he's actually making some points. The problem is, they're vague enough that players could find connections that aren't actually there. Which is very appropriate for BS fortune telling Lol. "I see a house with four walls" - ok man..

(Sorry for any possible typos, on the phone) The way animancy is portrayed is that it's a young but rapidly growing field - which matches other discoveries and technological booms in history - and I think the point that it's at in PoE2 is that it absolutely *could * rebuild the wheel, but could still fail. That's part of what makes breaking it scary (also because the broken wheel creates a giant power vacuum that the wrong people could take advantage of). We haven't even seen animancy in a region that really actively values it - in PoE1, most people feared and resented it. And in PoE2, they're making legitimate prototypes for teleportation that can take you to the beyond. I think that shows serious potential.

It prevents them from leaving because of the conversation, yes, but I'm pretty sure they leave no matter what if you actively try to ruin their related factions with the quest. -
I'd really want to go wherever the developers have the most interest, because the area might not be interesting if the developers only do it because they feel like they should. Assuming that everything was equal there, I think the Valian Republics or Rauatai would be really cool to see in their home country. I'd also like to see the Ixamitl Plains because it sounded kind of weird and interesting when I first read its little blurb. Actually! Seeing Aedyran culture would be really cool. It has such a long history and it's got a bit of that fallen empire thing going on (similar to Britain). Also seeing how the elven and folk relations have grown from that past would be cool. I suspect wherever we go next would either be having a hard time of it because of PoE2 and or have a lot of animancy stuff going on.
