Movies You've Seen (or would like to see) Recently

The one plot detail in 2049 that kind of keeps it from true greatness for me: -
Tactician too easy. Even a moron with 5 in INT can beat it

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the (Obsidian) Forum

Checked my email this morning and got this recommendation from Yelp Eat24 and, well, I find it hard to believe that the phrasing for this was all innocent: I should also add that the email subject line appears to have been written as a parody of what eHarmony might send you. -
From the late 80s there's been an ever increasing militancy to political discourse - and discourse in general. We're in a period of hyper-normalilzation, a slow boiling of the pot, where most have noticed somethings up, but can't quite put the finger on it. Even the discourse on this little random corner of the net has seen a dramatic change in the last 10 years. Now the discussions around dinnertables all over the world, have always been a little casually racist and objectifying. Not good, but at least managable... But today we're seeing mass generalisations on big network newsshows, accussations flung out without a shred if proof or remorse and huge political scandals that are just 'par the course'.. People are numb to it, which only invites even more. Actually I think the political discussion here on the Obsidian WoT board have never been better than now. It used to be bloodsport here. People really got insulting and angry. Bans and warning were common. Now, points are usually ably argued no one gets too angry. We are an example to the world! Who'da thought? am not certain if obsidian is an example to the world, but am expecting if you spoke to an activist who were in washington in the 60s when ranks o' soldiers were positioned outside the pentagon, white house and capitol to prevent protesters from literal storming the gates, and asked if the dialogue o' today is more or less militant or polarized than what he/she recalls from times now past, the answer would be obvious. I'd add that for all the talk of "Lib-ruhl Nazis," as insufferable as the "SJW" crowd might seem we're certainly quite a ways from them having the kind of disruptive effect on civil society the Baader-Meinhof Gang and the like had. How lucky are we they're content debating with strangers on the internet rather than robbing banks, hijacking airlines, bombing airbases, and kidnapping businessmen and politicians (or as was the case with Colombian far-left revolutionaries in their heydays, any random people they can get their hands on).

I don't object to the message I just think it childish to hold a rally because someone said ****. This is the military, I would expect they would have thicker skin. At the minimum you must not have spoken with any actual combat veterans, or read many soldiers' memoirs, or seen many war movies. Unlike other professions where trust in the person beside you and the ability to act cohesively and harmoniously are big pluses, in the military profession they become functional requirements for _survival_.

Posted this before, but it remains relevant. What's remarkable is that Trudeau nailed his speech mannerisms... back in 1988:

I don't mean to suggest that Obsidian is a studio that is currently in dire straits or that Boyarsky is the type who doesn't think forgoing a very comfortable position that all but guarantees his kids go to Harvard and a great retirement is worth the risk, but one likes to think that if he was tempted away from Blizzard, free catering and weekly Happy Hours and all, then what he's doing at Obsidian must be something really special.

Survived an ambush by assassins that took at three retries. Sadly for my troubles their corpses disappeared in a puff of smoke.

I myself wasn't a huge fan of the armour system straight out of Mass Effect 2 and onwards, which seems to be the biggest change from DOS1. Admittedly it's quite handy for dealing with environment effects whilst exploring and the status hazards that can quickly accumulate over the course of a fight, but it also had the effect of making the gameplay seem overly game-y for my liking.

Had a bit of a "Holeee.... S***" moment when a decent portion through Act 2 I realised that...

...or upon killing all the guards between the Ghetto and being able to inform the rest of the imprisoned Sourcerers that it's a prison break.

Price’s private-jet travel breaks precedent I really want to know what depth of f***ing tortured logic is needed to rationalise this kind of blatant self-enrichment in the face of all this "draining the swamp" rhetoric. Really, have the MAGA-types any excuse for the number of weekends Trump has spent on golf excursions?

The method I used was equally cheesy for that fight; the Gloves of Teleportation in spite of having protection stats equivalent to wet tissue paper is worth retaining for the skill it provides alone, particularly for a ranged specialist who should be avoiding getting hit anyways. I also have my main put one point into Aerothurge for the skill, along with our Aerothurgy specialist who also has the skill. I just kept teleporting the enemy melee fighters 50 meters away from us, or in the path of the Voidworm that eventually shows up for that fight. Harder is the first Dallis fight, which can lead to one or two leveled and well-kitted out party members getting killed in the space of two turns. but I managed that by teleporting Malady to opposite sides of the ship from all the enemies.

I may be remembering this wrong, but I think there was a series or a pilot out there in which the Greek Pantheon was transposed into modern day New York making their way among mortals. Aphrodite was played as a drag queen who worked phone sex lines. -
@IndiraLightfoot You could have saved yourself some time and downloaded EE Keeper and edited a save file so that they all had 18 in all ability scores

Afterwards a tiny Tim Cook pops out of your chest and does a dance with a hat and cane and sings “Hello! Ma Baby." -

Yep, that is definitely the tone of Larian games. If you don't like silliness and tongue in cheek humor, it is not a good fit for you. Honestly, if you don't chuckle when you hear the name DIVINE DIVINITY, you really aren't in the target audience. Or "Source-erers," for that matter.

Those were different elves. <.< >.> Hell, given how seemingly disconnected all the different games are from each other if you only played certain entries in the series you'd be forgiven for thinking there weren't any elves or dwarves in the universe.
