  1. Somehow I think those expecting him to shake things up at Davos will be gravely disappointed. Given my knowledge of his antics one would have to try pretty damn hard to convince me otherwise that ultimately Trump seeks the approval of Koch brothers-types, to say nothing of the mainstream media itself in spite of vociferous claims to the contrary.
  2. Coincidentally I finally came around to binge-watching Ash vs Evil Dead. Now I can't believe I've put off watching it for so long; I loved the Evil Dead movies and even really liked My Name is Bruce.
  3. Sad to hear that. He's been a fixture of your posts and I can imagine it's going to be rough to see him in pain when his time is coming, to say nothing of the great big hole in your life when he's gone. Still I'm sure in his own way he's grateful for having taken him when you did and cared for him all these years.
  4. Man, all these people who are so triggered by TLJ having a black guy and an Asian girl as some of the leads seem like the type of folks who would have been annoyed seeing James Earl Jones in Dr. Strangelove or Yaphet Kotto in Alien in their days.
  5. Mike Huckabee went on a tear recently drawing comparisons between Trump and Churchill, evidently after having watched Darkest Hour. I think the irony of Trump's rallying cry of "America First" last being used by the crowd that was very much in favour of throwing Churchill under the bus might be lost on Huckabee.
  6. Man, One of Many is such a cool character. Even if you're playing as a good character (which I am) it's an equally valid option to eat Okku just to have him... them in the party:
  7. Walsingham whipped this up, which made my Christmas Eve. Feel free to sing along:
  8. Walked out of a store at the exact perfect time to see this: SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, by the way. Someone getting out of a parked car coming from the other way gave me a weird look as I had my phone out, to which I wordlessly pointed at the sky behind him. What he exclaimed should probably not be repeated on this board.
  9. Here's what Kylo Ren thought of the Last Jedi:
  10. Sadly I just learned that Warrel Dane, vocalist of former Nevermore, has died of a heart attack last week. RIP
  11. Great shout-out to Randy Quaid in Independence Day, too.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time (however for my 2017 movies I'd still rank Bladerunner higher, a movie I still had one or two niggles about). There was one scene Laura Dern that made the price of admission and wearing a piece of eyewear worth it, and elicited a collective gasp from the theater.
  13. The Last Jedi idle thoughts:
  14. It will make for some fine entertainment. Polish Trump fanboys are amusing to no end, especially when they spam 'Trump 2020' everywhere. I'm actually beginning to question whether Sharp is actually Polish and not some Russian troll-farm keyboard warrior given how he's somehow oblivious to the "Immigrant Polish Plumber" stereotype that's so prevalent in Europe.
  15. For real 80's deep cuts in the next season of Stranger Things, I want to see Eleven hijacking an SR-71: Oh! Better idea. The Soviets kidnap Eleven, so she has to escape back to the west by stealing a MiG-31 "Firefox" that she can only pilot by thinking in Russian.
  16. Seriously, even people in North America have heard of the "Polish plumber" anti-immigration line.
  17. Tom Wright raised the possibility that Trump, given his complete delegation of authority to Mattis and co., is totally unaware of the going-ons in the DoD regarding the United States' reinforcement of the Baltics and Poland, and would probably object if he did given his speech in Pensacola. Being cognizant of close to three decades of Trump's antics I've been of the belief that Trump would offer those countries on a sacrificial altar in a heartbeat if it meant more oligarch dollars in his pocket.
  18. Lest we forget, the Republicans got caught in the collateral damage of the Watergate scandal, but came back in a huge way less than a decade later. That was because Republicans then were willing to put country and the rule of law above party.
  19. Good to see you again! I still have Steel Division installed. Hit me up on Steam if you're down for some comp-stomps.
