  1. No loss tbh. SDCC has become more of a press event than a fan convention.
  2. It's like they aren't familiar with videogames.
  3. Apparently that Overwatch character is based on a Blizzard employee.
  4. It's when you force people to stare at your navel. Dev tries to talk to Arthur Gies about variety, hits a brick wall. Gies is also a fan of Suicide Girls, which is an erotic(ie porn) site featuring alt(goth girls and ****) models that happens to have contracts that are very bad for their models if they want to model for anyone but SG. Why are all these people huge hypocrites?
  5. It figures. I wonder how they are going to compensate the increased TTK vs party survivability. Giving players more powerful or longer-lasting mitigation tools breaks routine encounters, while decreasing boss damage outputs results in "bullet sponge" fights. Of course, the rationale is total bollocks. I didn't kill Irenicus in 20s the first time around, and with an AI that can actually use the level-appropriate tools it should have in a non-brain dead manner, the fight can go on for several minutes. Ain't nobody got time fo' programming decent AI in this day and age, apparently. To be fair, SCS is really damn complex when compared to pretty much any vanilla AI. I do agree though, **** AI in rpgs makes them way too easy.
  6. Yeah I don't want to touch that with a ten-foot pole. So anyone want to talk about the return of Kern's League for Gamers?
  7. So guys, what do you think about Kern bringing back the League for Gamers? https://m.facebook.com/leagueforgamers?refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2FKotakuInAction%2Fcomments%2F2y8zhz%2Fgoal_mark_kern_bringing_back_the_league_for%2F&_rdr https://twitter.com/League4Gamers http://youtu.be/Y8ZhznFfJZY Also, the IGDA appears to be anti-unionization. https://archive.today/5MzVI
  8. Did one of us punch our wife in an elevator?
  9. I drank a lot of alcohol and I'm not drunk. I think this calls for vodka.
  10. Same here. Hope for the best, but they didn't have a proven track record like Obsidian or Larian.
  11. I don't think they're done yet, but a friend of mine used the mod in it's current state(0.9?) and said it's pretty stable and adds plenty of stuff. Not sure if it holds up, I remember being somewhat unimpressed with the dark side path on my second attempt at a playthrough though. KOTOR2 managed to handle that(and pretty much everything else really) better.
  12. What the **** is going on here? Google may be switching to a fact based algorithm. Let's hope it kills Gawker. http://techraptor.net/content/is-google-switching-to-a-fact-based-algorithm
  13. I suppose one could make a joke about how much money Tim Schaefer needs to make a game, but it seems even he doesn't know that.
  14. Have you been hitting the acid again mate? Bit of humor.
  15. How is Israel trying to get the goyim to work for it news?
  16. Fallacy of relative privation. Not a very good train of logic, because ultimately all issues but one will be considered unworthy. And video game journalism ethics are more important than banning "bossy".
  17. Not really. To make the combat better you would first have to fix the interface. This would require a pretty fundamental reworking of the game. I'm playing the sequel now and even Obsidian did not try to do it -- they fixed some minor issues which reduce the degree to which the interface is annoying by quite a bit, but the core of both interface and combat is basically the same. There are few mods that improve the experience. While they do not change the combat itself, they increase the difficulty (lets face it, difficulty is a joke in vanilla KotoR) and add additional high level force powers, which while fundamentally look the same as original ones, they do have some different effects and animations which is always nice to see replaying the game. IMO those mods are essential and I would not be able to play through both games again without at least those improvements. Link? If I were to take this quote out of context, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell which Bioware game we're talking about Mass Effect Mass Effect 2 Mass Effect 3 Dragon Age Origins Dragon Age 2 Dragon Age Inquisition Star Wars The Old Republic Jade Empire Neverwinter Nights Baldur's Gate
  18. She tried to create a meme and made a sock puppet account to troll on twitter. http://youtu.be/LEyJX2rDfMs I figured some of you would like this.
  19. Unfortunately it's a position with little demand in proportion to benefits, at least in the case of legislators.
  20. There's a video out there of porn stars reading their hatemail. It's a bit more extreme than most stuff I've seen. EDIT: Foul language, but otherwise SFW.
  21. People who are outspoken feminists getting rape and death threats definitely constitutes as an unwelcoming environment for feminists, in my opinion. Self-identified gamergaters in the appropriate *chan sites talking in great detail about bombarding them with those rape and death threats constitutes as GG being responsible for it. (Not in the collective responsibility sense - ie. every gamergater is personally responsible for the actions of those individuals -, but in the sense of "some people who are gamergaters do send those things".) Anyone on the internet with an opinion gets rape and death threats. Or, maybe that was just me. At the very least that's been my experience and has always been my impression of the internet. That's been my experience as well. Although I find someone threatening me with "**** your ass till it ****ing bleeds" more funny than anything.
  22. Well from what I've read/heard, you're looking at over 40 hour weeks with relatively low pay in highly demanding positions so that isn't a farfetched possibility.
