Police Abuse of Uber Driver in New York City
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to ktchong's topic in Way Off-Topic
I've seen cops do quite a bit of illegal(yet common) driving maneuvers. Not surprising one would threaten a guy with jail for honking at him, given how they usually operate, in fact I'm almost surprised there wasn't an arrest. But I suppose we just don't understand and the cop is the real victim here. -

As president I'd ban Ryan Reynolds from being in movies. My constitution has been buffed to 18. I can implement whatever I want. No more Ryan Reynolds movies? You've got my vote.- 125 replies

Namutree will be the republican candidate for 2016. His platform will demand romance be inserted in videogames and Christians be forced to wear gimp suits in public.- 125 replies

Well technically we got kicked off 4chan(probably because after the Fappening moot didn't want to get sued), but otherwise you're right on the money. We built a time machine to install ourselves in the past to harass women by inserting limericks into massive videogames. -

Journalism and bias in the gaming industry

I watched The Crying Game last night because that limerick reminded me of it. Would be a shame to see certain things not explored in art because someone is offended by something. Such as To Kill a Mocking Bird, because blacks being wrongly convicted has happened. If you haven't watched The Crying Game I highly recommend it, btw. -

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/misandry Merriam-Webster would disagree with you. Just like Misogyny is hatred of women, not a collection of widespread challenges based on sex. Furthermore, are you over 30? I'm asking because most data I've seen suggests that with people under 30(in the west), women tend to make more for the same jobs and attend higher education at higher rates than males and if your answer is yes, that may color your personal perception of little challenged being a man. While I wouldn't blame hatred of men, I would say there is a certain bias against men when applying to university or to certain positions. In my personal experience, women are preferred for admission into university and for office jobs over men. Not a widespread bias where men are never hired, but if qualifications are relatively equal the woman is more likely to be the one selected. -

That would be truly disappointing if true. Not because I'm dead set against it being removed. No, I don't care about that. But there's the small matter of a character breaking bug that's preventing me from playing the game right now, and I would be down right pissed if Obsidian put this as the higher priority. Seeing as I currently shelved the game after my Cipher got screwed up with the double-click equip bug, I'm inclined to agree. -

You have to be joking. You're seriously saying that men NEVER, EVER get prejudice sent their way? Really? Well...something something prejudice + power = misandry. Of course I've never been able to understand how say Ellen Pao(current CEO of reddit) or Kristen Gillibrand(US senator from NY) has less power than some factory worker who barely makes enough to support his family, but I tend to view power as more of an economic or political attribute than vague social attribute. -

Just my opinion here, but probably because Female to Male is less common than Male to Female on the internet scene. I mean, if you go looking for trans porn, you're going to find almost entirely MtF stuff. If you look for notable individuals, it's also MtF dominated. To be honest, the only FtM I can think of off hand is Chaz Bono and he has quite a bit of time in several spotlights. I'd be interested at looking at the rates of FtM and MtF compared in terms of percentage of population, but I can't find any good studies with my weak googlefu. -

Somewhat relevant here: A backer, whoever that might be, submitted this controversial limerick to Obsidian and unless the devs working on this are incompetent(I don't believe they are), it was looked over by at least one person who found no problem with it. With this in mind, is there any reason to remove it beside it offending someone? If that reason is "transmisogyny doesn't fit the setting", then why does rape, religious persecution, racism, and slavery belong while that doesn't? -

The only one who can do that is the gold backer who submitted it, and he hasn't revealed himself yet. Oh God, I hope they do not. No one deserves the wolves at their heels that would cause. http://youtu.be/9cDZlI0mFSE -

Is not... quite true. None of those people have anything to do with FemFreq, and while I know GG has seen this, they are not the ones starting it and this is kinda outside their usual 'territory'. As far as I know the FemFreq team consists of three people, not sure if there's more: Anita Sarkeesian Jonathan McIntosh (writer and producer) Katherine Cross (secretary) Here are my sources https://i.imgur.com/3krmDzG.png https://pdf.yt/d/QnYk8zz4nV8hfVfv And they spent 40% of $400k on salary. -

Correct me if i'm wrong, but are you actually trying to defend #killallmen? That or he's never been exposed to black people , particularly from urban areas, for a significant amount of time. -

I'm going to explain this once, which you will no doubt ignore. How high is the possiblity of there being an actual killing spree against men by "SJWs"? Ok, how many times has the panic defense actually been used by murder defendants? Also, are you going to post here again or did you make an account just for that? So are you arguing that somehow this joke is contributing to the actual murder of transpeople? That sounds like a slippery slope if I ever heard one... Look, I'm not arguing that bad things don't happen to transpeople, they definitely do. But I'm pretty confident that this joke has nothing to do with those things, and will never have anything to do with those things. This isn't a hill I'm going to die on. I'm just pointing out it's a little disingenouous to make them equivalent. I don't think that they believe that people posting #KillAllMen are ACTUALLY going to kill all men. But I do think that it's hate speech regardless. Of course, now that I think about it...there was Valerie Solanas, so violence from this crowd isn't completely unheard of... Neo-Nazis and White Nationalists will likely never have their "day of the rope" or mass extermination of people they dislike in today's world. It's still hate speech because it's hate. Why people make excuses for hate of any kind is beyond me. -

You know it says in the article you linked all but one attempt at that failed? And I find it funny that you're claiming the defense "It's just a joke" for #KillAllMen, but are asking for this JOKE to be pulled here. It reeks of double standards. I'm honestly convinced Arouet is trolling after reading these past few pages. The forum has an Ignore feature. If you can't ignore them, Ignore them. Getting caught in a circle jerk does no one any good. -
