  1. I just found this: http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2293656/microsoft-to-unveil-surface-rt-2-and-surface-pro-2-tablets-on-23-september So guess we'll wait two weeks and find out more.
  2. I roll a lot of 1s as well. There are people shouting that its just the RNG and its just our perception that we think we are more unlucky than lucky, but I am not convinced. What race did you try to play though? If you actually want to pass the ball (and pick it up) elf teams are a good bet. And witch elves and wardancers can even win a fight.
  3. Internships can be a mixed bag and it depends both on the intern but also very much on the company. I know of one ... person (I'll be civil) who went to the UN for an internship and within a week had managed to get everyone to avoid him and not speak to him because of his racist rethorics and attempts to appear "cool" through lecherous, sexist banter. Obviously, his internship went badly. My own internship went amazingly well. On one hand I put my back into it and did what I could to be a full member of the team, but I only could do that because the team let me do it. They needed the extra help at the time and were fully prepared to welcome the intern and give them responsibilities. But many companies don't really know what to do with interns. They at some point picked up that having interns is the thing to do. Maybe management even believes that giving young people a chance to learn in a working environment is a good thing. But they haven't really thought about the reality of it. I think it's important to know what you want to get out of the internship and be prepared to not only work towards that goal, but to communicate it with the hosting company.
  4. Never thought of it but any of the below could apply: 1) Their marketing guys haven't thought of it 2) They haven't found the physical merchandise a viable area to expand into (yet) 3) With the customer base Steam has, the logistics of expanding into physical goodies is beyond them 4) Setting up a system to restrict merchandise availability based on personal profiles is too much of a hassle. 5) They can't be arsed to put up with the idiots who'll demand refunds because now they have more achievements than they had when they ordered the stuff 6) Taxes
  5. What race did you try? Not all are equally beginner friendly. I found some of the tougher races to be good for learning the game. Nurgle for example. A skaven team my dance around you and score TDs without you ever having a chance to hunt down that Gutter Runner and beat him to a pulp, but at least you are likely to be the one outnumbering the opposition at some point after they have been carried of the pitch with stretchers.
  6. Apparently the car wasn't parked but waiting at a red traffic light... So the driver stopped at a red light, waited for the pedestrian to start crossing the road, and once she was in front of him step on the gas. My mother says she heard his tires screeching as he hit the breaks afterwards. So her assessment is that the guy wanted to scare her but was too dumb to realize that if he races forward, the car wont stop on the spot.
  7. Other than Wals we are all rookies. So we'll have to go with a rookie league. If you need anything I'll be online after dinner as well. Either seeing if my halfling team can continue cutting a bloody path through the competition or trying out the Khorne team. Be careful though. It is a direct translation of the board game, so there is a lot of rolling of dice and if you are like me that means rolling a lot of critical fumbles. And another note: Player appearance can be set while hiring them. It just is a bit akwardly set up. When you select the player type in the list, instead of clicking hire, you click player details and then can set the appearance before hiring. Though not all types have multiple skins which is a shame.
  8. Will have to ask her for the exact spot. But most stores and houses there don't have cameras from what I know.
  9. Some gits tried to run over my mum. She was crossing the street and when she was halfway across the driver of the waiting car stepped on the gas. She barely managed to jump out of the way. I wish someone had seen the license plate.
  10. I have no idea. I never tried the multiplayer to be honest. I have a friend who is very active in the multiplayer thing and who as in FUMBBL as well. So all I know is based on badgering him for info.
  11. Us buggers? Thats Ros and me. We need Rosbjerg to stop having an awesome time with the wimin and sign up. Then we need to force Alan to buy the game. That would give us enough people for the tiny cup edit: Wait, Raithe has it as well. So we are four. We need two more to make a nice 6 team league.
  12. Blood Bowl. The sport of gentlemen. (and currently still 75% off for another 7 hours)
  13. New job, new flat, new city. Things deffinitly were looking awesome.
  14. I looked around the options for setting up the league. A rookie league would mean we could start new teams just for it. I think the minimum number of teams is 4. I would prefer 6. As I understand it, we can't have AI teams - all spots must be filled with real people or AIs pretending to be real people on a forum. We have the choice of setting it up as a Cup, Championship, Competition, League... whatever. There are about twenty different images for the cup.
  15. Today I looked at my forum profile and noticed that I was 34 years old... when did that happen? I could swear I am not a day older than 28.
  16. Disclaimer: Blame Walsingham Nuffle Wants You! or something like that. After a discussion with a fellow worshipper of Nuffle, the idea was born (through Nuffle's guidance no doubt) that a Blood Bowl league for the forum would be in order. I think the exact words of the prophet of Nuffle were: "Go forth obsidianites and bring gratuitous violence onto the pitch." The question then is: Are there people interested? fine print: Blame Walsingham
  17. The Roastbeef Reavers are setting out to become the most notorious halfling team in Blood Bowl history: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/631917096691512660/0B7CDC322CFAC95AFB5465798EB9BB3B8EA68531/ After recieving two touchdowns, the Roastbeef Reavers' honour is saved when Adelard Tomato scores in the second half: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/631917096691516063/EB95D6DDAB5FDC592EBF6998E2911EE7961D8A05/ A Bloodletter of the Horde of Khorne finds out that the Blood Bowl pitch hath no fury like a famished Halfling: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/631917096691521242/96E1E47A0077EEA4418E46157E220851CDAE571C/
  18. There is a backlog to get into my backlog...
  19. Still one of my favourid jRPGs. The devs were really nice too - as long as you kept away from Cathy's claws.

  21. Gave up on Duck Tales Remastered. I can beat the whole game without losing a life. After the boss fight though there is a short platforming bit. A race against time. I can beat that. Once htat is done though, there is another platforming section. Another race against time, this time with rising lava. As I get there with full lives, I should be all good. Problem is that if you fail once, on your next attempt the lava starts higher and rises faster. The logic apparently being: "This part giving you trouble? Let's make it harder for you then!" That is so beyond stupid that I just can't be bothered to put up with it. Started Castle of Illusion instead. A lot more went into this game tech wise it seems. Will see how it holds up to annoyance.
  22. Was playing Defiance. The DLC added some new weapons (charge blades) which can only be bought at a specificfaction vendor for excorbitant prices. The best one costs 500k. I have been playing since around May and had to farm the last 100k to afford it. I have been pondering since yesterday whether I should now spend all my hard earned cash on the blade and then be broke. Today I decided once more to step away and think about it before clicking the buy button. While I was stepping away, Defiance had maintenance. When I came back three hours later, an unanounced patch was added which made some sneaky changes: it reduced the prices at this specific vendor. The rare blade I was considering buying and hadn't, instead of 500k, now costs ... 15k... people who had bought it more than a couple of hours ago are furious - obviously.
  23. I did, but it's not funny. And doesn't say if that's what you actually receive when pickpocketing, either. Could just be a lore scroll one finds on a table for all I know. I don't think sorophx actually used the pickpocket ability on the tree. He read the poem and it inspired the screenshot.
