  1. Bah, just install the nude mod and be done with it
  2. Started playing Torn Tales. An action rpg a la Van Helsing, Victor Vran etc, in which you control a party of three characters: Robin Hood, Snow White and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. You control one character through the usual mouse clicking, while the other two follow your example with basic AI similar to Katarina in Van Helsing - with the difference that here you can freely switch between them. The idea is that a heartless old man tried to write stories nobody wanted to read, and in revenge he is rewriting the existing tales and thus Snow White and Dr. Jekyll end up in Sherwood. Sadly I found the game rather disappointing so far. The graphics are very much sub par. While I am not a graphics whore, when it is the setting that is supposed to draw you in, I want it do exactly that. Torn Tales so far has been simply bland even on the highest settings, leaving me to wonder how there can even be lower settings. Gameplay has also not been too impressive. On the one hand, while skills show some promise down the line, the combat is, at least early on, not engaging. In other action rpgs you often have a left click and right click skill plus whatever hotkeys. Here you have a left click autoattack/move to attack and a right click move while ignoring enemy - more akin to rts units than an rpg. The real problem here is that your left/right click commands all three heroes, so while Dr. Jekyll is tanking the Huntsman for example, and you right click for him to evade the powerful chop attack, this also disengages the other two who run after Jekyll. When you try to run Robin Hood out of the path of the Big Bad Wolf's charge, this will also cause the other two to run. And AI pathfinding is not great, neither is aggro. According to Steam I played 45 minutes tonight. For a new game with a theme right up my alley, I had hoped for more on the first night before I quit.
  3. Oi! No playing games for you. You have a trip to plan!
  4. Everybody loves to hate on the French And nobody has anything nice to say about UK tourists. That is the large groups traveling with Thomas Cook to the south to get drunk by noon, hit on or insult (or both) anything that moves, urinate on the sidewalk etc etc. Though to be fair, any UK tourist who doesn't fall into that category won't have anything nice to say about them lot either.
  5. Oi! The Athens Metro is pretty much the one thing working in Greece. That and the intercity coach service. Sometimes the Metro is on strike, but I have an app on my phone for that
  6. If you do come to Greece, season starts around April and can go through to October. March can already be a nice time if you are here for the sights and not the beaches. If you go to Germany it is worth looking into a Bahnkarte for the discount on train tickets - it makes roaming the country far more feasible. When I went to Germany in November for 9 days, I got a card on the second day and it had paid for itself and saved me money with my second train ticket (and only because the first ticket was only a hop skip and jump). It is worth doing a bit of research into more countries than you initially plan to go and keep an open mind when you get to Europe, as you may want to adjust plans on a whim. I've had guests who decided to leave a Greek island and do a quick trip to Rome. I've had guests who came to Athens last minute because "they could".
  7. Damn, there goes the reason to replay the game
  8. Overwatch? This is how you take out reinforcements with style:
  9. Next time I'll seek out the stray dogs living nearby. When it gets dark they can get territorial - that should do for angry daemons and gods
  10. Yeah, I don't really know how to use a camera properly, so I was switching between my canon and my phone for different results. Would have been neat to know how to do "good" photos. But since nobody with a proper camera seemed to be around, my friends had to do with my crummy shots. Dunno if this link will work for the actual photos (if anyone is interested) https://www.facebook.com/tsiakalos/posts/10155056686374236?pnref=story
  11. Athens. It was snowing last night (it doesn't normally snow in the city) so I did a midnight stroll up the hill to the acropolis. Figured it was a great opportunity to get some images few people would have.
  12. Good thing it wasn't anything serious!
  13. Today I got eliminated in our blood Bowl league. Mostly because I am a good sport, and when the other team was down I didn't spend the rest of the game fouling to kill even more players. We played overtime and ended that with a score of 6 - 6. Penalties (a d6 roll since there had to be a winner) the other team won My team walked off the pitch, the opponents had to be carried off. If that's victory... Yesterday though it was snowing. Now I am trying to upload gifs of the snowfall. Using you lot as test subjects
  14. Trying to slog through DA:I, but I am losing more and more interest.
  15. You'd think people in Sweden were used to snow
  16. I think Malcador's version makes more sense Ωwomentep has a ring to it.
  17. Obvious alts... MelkathII, MelkathIII, MelkathIV, MelkathV, MelkathVI ? Good idea! Mine was to do evil twins for forum regulars; FalseNeutral. Yesnek, Burglar Cat etc. I am not sure how to do the opposite for the Amen in Amentep or the Vietcong in BruceVC. Stallionshuteyese would probably have made people groan.
  18. That is commitment. Don't stop until you are 100% finished with the task you had set out to complete.
  19. I was going to make a lot of obvious alts here, but I couldn't come up with funny things to discuss as these alts.
  20. I looked at my desktop yesterday and noticed the shortcut for DA:I. Nearly played a bit. Then decided to just go to bed early for a change and slept for 11 hours. I needed that Saw a cool hoover in my dream, shaped like Bub/Bob from Bubble Bobble. I'll have to look into making that. The internet would love it.
  21. Happy New Year! here in Athens the mayor was supposed to do the countdown, but it's the third time in a row where he failed to notice it was time for the countdown. Last year he tried to rush ina quick 3 2 1, this year it was several minutes until the people on stage realized they had one job to do... and had failed to do it
  22. You are a madman - you are just grinning like yourself then
