  1. Haha, yes. I think the point I wanted to make has come across Also, Underbridgeth federus colecti: xD http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=22855.0;wap2
  2. Agreed, I think it could work though, like anything could. Personally I kind of want it just simple, simplicity is king. Some of the best guitar riff's in the world are only one or two chords
  3. Is this his personal preference, marketing stuff a la business "don't scare away the fans"-thing. Why is he saying this? To get popularity, or is he simply expressing his own opinion? Is there an agenda behind his words? I don't know to be honest, maybe it is both agenda and truth. I don't disagree with the man, but I don't agree with him either. I feel there is truth in his opinion, some of it. Heck I agree with everything, I'm just iffy about the pauses he takes in his speech just makes me wonder if he got the speech on paper in front of him or how long he stood in front of the mirror practicing for most suspense *shrug*
  4. I feel as if the isometric viewpoint is underrated. Check out Shadowgrounds (A good shooter, a bit amateurish but still good, made by the same developers that made Trine). Look at Diablo 3. There is also "Alien Swarm" on Steam (free). Alien Breed 1, 2, 3 as well. There is a lot of things that can be done with the graphical style today, and I think you will notice more about the details than you think here in the forums, and I'm sure Obsidian already knows this so it'll probably be taken into account. This is one of those things that would be pointless to customize, unless there is going to be "zoomed in conversations". I still don't want to rule it out entirely though. Simplicity in this area whichever way it goes (more char customization vs less char customization)
  5. Found it! "Legendary Items made by you..." http://forums.obsidi...ou/page__st__20
  6. I can see this being a path of a Rogue. Hmm.... I would love to see the kind of "Class Upgrade" thing we see in the very first Final Fantasy, but in a more IE game way. You create your Class as you play. In another thread (I think it was "The Role of a Rogue") someone said "Can't we all start off as commoners?" (jokingly), well why not? Starting off as a "Commoner Rogue" (in a sense, the title would still be Rogue) but as you level up, choose your skills etc. etc. you'd later become a Trickster (still titled Rogue in-game). Then again I'm either for or against my suggested "method", just throwing it out there. Which takes me to my next thought/discussion subject Titles, yes, no? (Should be it's own topic?)
  7. Haha yeah I encountered that too. Buy a H2 Zoom. They are pretty cheap and with a quick firmware update it becomes USB microphone <3 loving it. *cough* shameful advertising of my own voice (I'd do it for free Obsidian, for free). edit: I did go to actor's school for 3 years
  8. Colors of the cloth's. No dye mechanic in-game that you have to buy please. I loved the Baldur's Gate simplicity of just changing the colors. Apart from that I kind of do want to see some hair customization, then I'm all good. Perhaps a set of 3 different "basic models" for each class/race/gender. What I mean is... in BG we got this and I would kind of prefer this (<my suggestion to be>): * Human M/F Warrior (x3) * Human M/F Mage (x3) * Human M/F Rogue (x3) * 4 Color Modifications, Hair-, Skin-, 2xClothing Palette's (I would love to see this taken just a small step further, where you can change the color of helmets and armors. In BG you could only change the basic "No Equipment" parts of the character model clothes) EDIT: I would love to see some sort of "Wolfenstein" thing with the portrait's. The more damage you take, the more scarified and such they could get. edited: correcting myself
  9. I managed to make 3 or 4 of them that I was very pleased with (after countless hours of sound editting) I managed to make them fit the world. There are many (most of them) sound sets for the IE games that fall a tad bit short (Too low, sparkling sound, breathing and so on). I did mine rather professionally and worked quite a bit to make them real good. Unfortunately they disappeared with my old computer I am sure you could make a great sound set Amentep. I felt the same way when I started, it's only a confidence thing. Same thing with singing, anyone and everyone can sing, some just need to practice more. Same thing with the sound sets, took me about a weekend~ (3-4 days) to make one good sound set, so if you really want to make a good sound set, you'll make a really good sound set. Get all the recording tools, get a good microphone, mix and edit so that the sound sounds smooth and not "Taken from real world put into Baldur's Gate, it sounds like you are inside a can main-bro character" (which many fan made sound sets sound like in my opinion).
  10. I did it....still, I wonder if this is actually doable and whether that would still count after the kickstarter ends...... I hope so (that it still counts after the Kickstarter ends), "Likes" has nothing to do with the cash flow (more like internet marketing/popularity stuff~ 20k likes will make Obsidian pop up in Google more often if you search for something that might pop up their page. It's a popularity thing *pop pop*). Compare 1000 likes with 10'000 likes. If they both had been at 0 likes, there is a good chance that you wouldn't have liked any of them, or maybe even given the "1000 likes" 1 like. But with 10'000 likes there is a great, psychologically, chance that you will give 1 like to the one with 10'000. It's called group pressure, and there is scientific facts and experiments about it. Anyways, liked ^^
  11. If I would back $500 to get a memorial stone I would like to know more about some of the lore of the game before writing something. Either that or ask the Developers to take my message into consideration with the lore of P:E. Per say, my memorial stone would be early game, it could hint for something that is to come in some sort of cryptic manner (but also included with my private message). Perhaps even a message which mocks one of the in-game characters (NPC's, not your own). Or even "This man was slain by [insert powerful P:E enemy/opponent here]" type of thing.
  12. The only issue I've got with this is if there is too many "Visible" effects on the screen it can feel very mechanical (i.e remove the immersion and feel of the game). It could get cluttered with "found trap" markings all over the map. On/Off button if implemented.
  13. Cool! Highly addictive and/or giving some sort of effect. A double-edged sword kind of thing, "Sure you get 5 hitpoints, BUT..." EDIT: How common was/is the drugs of the Era? 1400-1500's right? Was there any drugs that we don't have today (I'm sure they were experimental too). Any drugs that had worse effects back then, compared to today? Was anything better back then? etc. etc.
  14. I know this is all modding stuff but... I think if Obsidian made it easy to add in your own sound sets that would be enough for me. Actually that would almost be preferred. No voices at all, but easy to mod in your own voices (Thus making all NPC's fan-based post-release, which I think could be pretty awesome too. Obsidian wouldn't have to worry about getting any voice actors at all. The only thing they would have to do is release the game with an ease-of-use sound file import on top of the dialog) I voted for "Fully voiced NPC companions" but I kind of feel stronger for what I posted here.
  15. This post made me make this thread. http://forums.obsidi...personal-house/ Would you get your own garden? Could you get a secret garden? xD I can totally see it, but I think it all should be attained. Kind of Harvest Moon-ish in a sense. You'd have to buy that Alchemy Set, it wouldn't magically be there the second you buy the house (I don't remember where I've seen it but in some game I buy a house and everything I need to craft with comes with the house free of charge). EDIT: What rhymes with drugs? Hugs! http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/61181-hugs/ <3
  16. In Baldur's Gate I was rolling like a boss. I spent so much time on it that I could see freaking patterns in what was a good roll and what was a bad roll. Mathematically I could see with a blink of an eye "Okay good/bad roll". This is very bad. Because I wanted to roll once and that would be that. But I knew in the back of my head that: "I can get a better roll". So I continued rolling. My personal suggestion is that you press roll once, and it rolls 25 points (always) randomly into the slots. Why only 25 points? Because it's just an example but bare with me... In Baldur's Gate, a really bad roll would be like 7 extra points, and a really good roll would be at 24 extra points. Way too big difference. So instead I would suggest you roll once and all the points get thrown into it randomly and you jump instantly to Class selection screen where you have the stats given to you side by side and thus can decide which class you want to choose based on those stats you randomly got. Of course, there should be an option wherein you get to put out the points yourself. But for the lazy person, who just wants to start the game as quickly as possible and kind of "wants" a random character, that option should exist as well. Kind of how League of Legends and Dota (and 2) function with the "choose random" option.
  17. EDIT: Inspiration to make this thread came from reading this thread about Drugs, he mentions somewhere "Crafting drugs" which brought me to Gardening (which in turn brought me to Suikoden): http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/61213-drugs/ EDIT END. Suikoden is one of my favorite games of all time (Suikoden, 2, 5 preference, I do love and like 3 and 4 as well just not as much). Suikoden was a console RPG, released for PSX, PS2 and DS. Still waiting for a PS3 release <3 Anyways, Suikoden is a great RPG, you have an open world you travel. The idea is that you gather companions (108 Stars of Destiny, as they are called), you get a castle (which grows the more companions you get). Most of the companions serve a purpose (One is a Chef, one is a Fisherman, one is a Gardener etc. etc.) and there's quite a few mini-games, side-quests and so on. Great game. I am wondering what you feel about some of these features at your own, personal house, in P:E? What would you like to see? Would you like to have a pond where you can fish and then cook? Or Gardening so you can get herbs. Hire some slaves to take care of your house for you (and your Garden), butlers that keep it tidy and clean whilst you are out adventuring. Furniture? Harvest Moon growth? (I.E expand your land, to a start your house is a shabby old hut ready to fall apart, late-game if you invest in the house you might get a big mansion). Of course, the bigger the house, the bigger the threat. If you have a museum with artifacts and National Treasure, burglar's could target you. Maybe you have something more subtle, hidden, a Bat-Cave. Or a Phantom Cave. Perhaps you are paranoid and want as much defense as possible and get a Castle with fortified walls. Or simply a mini-hut that's about to fall apart. The preference for this is big so I'll just suggest 3 different ones for now: * "About to fall apart"-Hut * Secret Cave (With your Bat-Horsile) * Mansion/Castle Thoughts?
  18. http://sports-mastery.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/HanTransArtisansWorking.jpg With the power of building.. a trebuchet? :D
  19. Dad!! :') <3 are you kidding me? That was a breeze, pfft HAH*, try this one: *beautifulmusicIalmostwantedtocryjustbecauseitwasbeautiful Err... well that's what happens when you grow up without hugs. It is true. I did grow up without many hugs. But I maintain that the two has no relevance. Hug! Now you've got 3 with no relevance. Growing up never ends so you've got plenty of time for relevance, until you start to get old and de-grow.... :/ wither.. that was the word I was looking for xD Love to ya'll! :D EDIT: Also yes, I'm always drunk and high.... drunk and high on love and life :D <3 <3 (Cooooornyyyyy~~~) hahaha
  20. Well, in my opinion, the Berserking Sword* would be said epic item. I like this idea. Specially that there could be legendary or historical artifacts that other parties want or look for. Hm, is this a stretch goal or a reward? On their Kickstarter page I believe they have a reward which is "Design your own Enemy Adventuring Party", is this Story related or merely "Design your own Evil Party" that's going to be a part of the "pre-made" character creations? (Like in Icewind Dale, there were pre-made parties you could choose). I can also see some nobleman, hiding under the cloak in guise, carrying an important item from A to B and you meet him under your travels. The secrets he holds would/could be a secret document, a powerful spell/document. Either you can help him out, maybe he is dying on the road, or you can outright "Claim" in an outright Chaotic Evil fashion. A Blacksmith in the forest who has given up his trade, and you have to do tons and tons of quests to "appeal" to him. I love the idea of you creating your own legendary item which someone started a thread about. I looked for it but couldn't find it (skimmed through the pages, so I probably missed it). You are your own Blacksmith kind of, and you would create epic items throughout your gameplay. Another idea was to start a "New Game+" and your epic items from your previous play would be transferred to a random generated place in "New Game+". * I always think the name is "Berserker King Sword for some reason"
  21. I agree with you Osvir, because artistic integrity is an important element of the creative process. Totally rjshae. Just wanted to highlight with this post. Clarification about my WoW comment: Okay the 500'00 people who liked World of Warcraft were not wrong. But by my standards, from my perspective WoW was wrong for me.
  22. I also want to take my time now in this thread to say that, although not forced, liking each other's posts on the site may benefit a common goal. Because it gives a broader picture on where we are all at, together. Getting each other on the same level is something I believe is great and might even make discussion more understanding and respecting if we know where we're all coming from, then we'll know what kind of directive we both want as well as are looking forward too this doesn't mean we should expect anything. And I can't stress this enough, more because it is my way of living. I don't expect anything. YOLO! However, doing it comes at a consequence. Namely the 90% "likes" and the 10% "likes". Now for Obsidian it is important in my opinion that, if 90% of the people likes something and Obsidian likes the 10%, I think they should go with the 10%. Maybe they've got a solution inside that 10% that we do not understand at this point. What I'm hinting towards here is some sort of professionalism from a fan's perspective. To go into a little bit more detail, within that 90% of the likes is 10% that's awesome, 35% awesome and finally 45% that is awesome. Those 10% of the 90% might disappear into the void. One of the more common WoW arguments "500'000 people can't be wrong". And I wish to say, yes they can. I am of course relating to the time when it was popular to write it. Today there be less people saying, people who used to say it but has left the *cough* dark *cough* side. I enjoyed World of Warcraft, just too time consuming and a little bit "not for me". Great game for those who shaped it, namely the first players. When a quest became too difficult for a player joining the servers later, the first people who played and learned then taught the game to the following gamers. And that way it went. Blizzard works very closely with their player base, but being such a large company they have thousands of other things to think about. Something a smaller, independent company doesn't need to juggle at the office. I read at RPGCodex, this is something Sawyer agrees with too (for all of you who blindly follow a man, putting him on a pedestal idolizing him. None of us are different, we are all equal. This isn't coming from a religious standpoint, I am not religious, but from a friend, from a brother from another mother to you: Hugs I like you). About my own "likes" on these forums: Some of them are because I just feel like it. Some of them are genuine. Sometimes I want to like but I don't. Sometime it is even tactical. Re-posting others ideas with sources: I've seen several awesome ideas, and because I want to endorse them I refer to them and link to them in other threads so that more people can see them and discuss them. Finally, some spiritualistic/humane mumbo-jumbo: Together we shape the world EDIT: Lastly (I'm such a love nerd sorry xD take it with a pinch of salt haha), the only agenda and ambition I have is to imagine a game together. You are all intelligent beautiful people~ PLUR
  23. No, totally no xD many times. But I at the same time I can be cool with her, all depends on the character I make as well as my own party management. I've played with her and without her, and I think there are great fan mods that activates banter's (fanmade, I think) which gives her much more personality. But... I just think the hug thing is a silly childish message of friendship, respect and all that other love crap that is very important A "once-a-game-specific-character-side-quest"-thing, at least. A mundane hug of friendship, and nothing romantic involved at all.
