  1. At the very least, a MP game needs to let you teabag a downed opponent.
  2. Believe me, I want to be wrong. It's just that we already know the game has at least once changed design lead and restarted development. The complete radio silence we've experienced for quite a while now also doesn't exactly inspire confidence. The track record of games that have gone through development hell speaks for itself. There are exceptions, examples of games that have gone through development hell and emerged as good games, but they are just that, exceptions. I will be so happy to eat my words if Obs proves me wrong. Until then, Avowed is dead as far as I'm concerned.
  3. I'm in the same boat, I'll probably give this a look at some point, but only because it's made by Obsidian and on Game Pass. The only survival games that ever held my interest for any period of time were Conan Exiles and Valheim. I recently tried Subnautica because it was on Game Pass and I recall several people really liking it. There was an initial "ooh pretty flaura" phase, but once that wore off I was just bored and put off by how unintuitive the base building mechanics were. Quit and uninstall, problem solved. As far as Obs games go, I'm more excited for Pentiment than Grounded. I'd put Avowed over both of them, but, until proven otherwise, I've written that game off as vaporware.
  4. Bulldog Drummond (1929) - Rich and dapper proper British chap is bored and thus he puts out an ad in the newspaper literally asking for an adventure. A young woman who's uncle is being held hostage by a lot of unsavory types answers the ad. Captain Drummond sure is awfully excited to put himself in danger. I'm not sure if the movie was meant to be a comedy or if it's just all the overacting. I suppose I shouldn't expect anything else from a movie from the roaring 20s, albeit the very end of them. There is a definite charm to the movie despite how hokey it is, though. There's like 20 more Bulldog Drummond movies. I don't know if I'll ever watch all of them, but I'll likely check out some.
  5. If you're crazy enough to delid Zen 4 you can DRASTICALLY drop temps: Seems the super thick IHS is to blame for the high temps.
  6. Yeah, that's the dog poop brown lining of our surprisingly decent start. Cooper Rush is a competent enough game manager. He can't do some of the heroic stuff Dak can, but he's not going to self destruct either. Assuming he's just a stopgap for a few weeks, we can get by with him.
  7. What a great night. For the first time in half a decade Giants fans had reason to be hopeful and puff out their chest a bit. Muh Boys walked into East Rutherford and delivered a bit of a wake up call. Tony Pollard and Zeke ran all over them and our staunch D smothered them. Muh Boys are 2-1, something I would never have thought possible after the way our season started.
  8. Sounds like Zen 4 will be the undervolt special.
  9. My best day of hand cannoneering yet. I had a couple of my tightest groupings. 4" grouping at 15 yards: 5.75" grouping at 25 yards:
  10. For Y'ur Height Only (1981) - A Filipino James Bond knock-off featuring a miniature secret agent. The 3' tall Weng Weng stars as Agent 00 taking down a crime syndicate who kidnapped a scientist to get him to make N-Bombs for them. I swear I'm not making any of this up. This movie has everything. It's got gadgets, gun fights, sword fights, a jet pack, and Weng Weng kicking so many guys in the ****. The music is terrific, but a lot of it is lifted straight from James Bond and the rest sounds an awful lot like Hong Kong cinema music. The English dub is *chef kiss* magnifique! Overall this is a very entertaining movie.
  11. @majesticAs someone who drives for a living, I feel your pain. My favorite ***hole maneuver is when someone is on an interstate or other large highway driving in the passing lane, they suddenly realize that they are about to miss their exit, so instead of just safely going to the next exit and turning around, losing probably about 4 or 5 minutes, they instead sharply cut across 2 or 3 lanes of traffic, potentially causing a giant pile up. Bonus points for no turn signal.
  12. I finished Steelrising. As I've written before, this game is a soulslike and most closely resembles Bloodborne. The game looks good, sounds great, and plays really well. The controls, at least on a Xbox controller, feel intuitive and everything is responsive. Hitboxes seem reasonable and feedback is on point. The story is decent, it takes a while to get going, but once it does it's entertaining enough. Spiders' wont win any awards for writing, the narrative isn't compelling enough to keep you going were the gameplay crappy, but luckily the gameplay is quite good and the narrative solid enough to not detract from it. My biggest criticism is that the game is quite easy for a soulslike. It could just be my build and/or the fact that I did all the side quests and was fairly OP near the end, but this was a breeze on default difficulty compared to other soulslikes. I could count all my deaths on two hands, for a soulslike that's not a lot. The most important thing, though, is that the game is really really fun to play. It never once felt like a chore and I was constantly eager to get back to playing it. I will almost certainly run through the game again at some point. The NG+ update is supposedly arriving in less than a week, but I'll likely wait until November for the DLC story to arrive.
  13. I can hardly wait for wave 4 which is said to include Ayn Rand, complete with Granville Hicks' scathing review of Atlas Shrugged from the New York Times. I heard it's price will be completely unregulated in proper laissez-faire fashion.
  14. I'm attempting to grow szczaw, or sorrel, as it's known in English. Zupa szczawiowa, aka sorrel soup, is one of my favorite dishes, but I rarely get to eat it because sorrel isn't exactly easy to find in Murica unless you live somewhere with a sizable Polish community, like Chicago or New Britain. I'd probably find it eventually if I spent a day driving from farmer's market to farmer's market, and I can definitely get it pickled in a jar, but I'd rather use fresh sorrel, so I decided to try growing it on my balcony. The plants are sprouting now. We'll see how it fares here in Cackalacky, it naturally grows in colder climates in Europe and the summer heat here might be too much for it, thus I think it will fare well in the spring and fall. It's a perennial so it should keep growing back and it will have no problems surviving the hilariously mild winters in this region, but I might wind up needing to drag the planter inside for the summers.
  15. @Hawke64 @BartimaeusI just noticed my version of Steelrising changed from 1.1.0 to 1.2.0. The update that adds NG+ is supposed to drop on the 29th, so it's probably not that. I can't find a changelog, not for lack of trying, so I have no idea whether this update is across all platforms and whether it addresses your issue, but it may be worth checking out, assuming you haven't refunded the game.
  16. I'll see your Rakia and raise you ƚliwowica. On second though, maybe not. We don't need the devs passed out next to their desks.
  17. Besides running through underground passages with a torch and simple platforming, what do you actually do in this game? Are there enemies to fight, traps to dodge, or puzzles to solve?
  18. Another half billion and... It'll still be 5 years away.
  19. Pornhub already beat both Nvidia and AMD to DP 2.0. I'll show myself out.
  20. Is DisplayPort 2.0 even out yet? I feel like it's been pushed back 3 or 4 times. But yeah, I don't really see a scenario where DisplayPort 2.0 would even matter right now. I can't imagine DisplayPort 1.4a or HDMI 2.1 not being enough, even for a rig at the level of @Bokishi
