Pictures of your Games 11 - The Quickening
Keyrock replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
The basic outer shell of my house is done: The inside is mostly empty: I'm eventually going to divide this lower level into rooms. You can see my bed off in the corner, I'll move it later once I have the layout complete. This second floor (first floor if you're British) and the mezzanine are going to remain one giant open room. I'll probably add a ceiling in the future and use the upper floor just below the roof as storage, with a ladder to reach it. I'm also definitely going to add some columns for decoration (and support). All manner of debauchery is going to take place in this giant, two-tier open room, so I'm going to make it lavish as ****. Naturally, I have a sweet-ass throne up on the mezzanine where I can look out over the giant open space. -

When you level up in the game you get stat points and feat points to spend. Stats are self explanatory while feats give you knowledge, blueprints, if you like, as to how to build different things; weapons, armor, building pieces, crafting stations, etc. Tier 1 building pieces are made of raw materials, you won't need any crafting stations, you can build everything straight out of your inventory. Sandstone foundation and walls are made of stone + wood and thatch roofing is made of plant fiber + branches. All these components you can either pick up by hand or gather via simple tools you can make from your inventory (stone axe, stone pick). What you see in my pictures is made from the jungle building set. That's not in the base game, a mod added it, but they are tier 2 building pieces, and they, like the tier 2 building pieces that are in the base game, are made of refined materials. They are made of brick + stone consolidant. Brick is stone + wood (for fuel) crafted in the furnace. Stone consolidant is twine + ichor crafted in the cauldron. Twine is super simple it's just plant fiber which you can refine down to twine from your inventory (3 plant fiber makes 1 twine). Ichor is a byproduct of cooking fish. Catch fish in fish trap, put them in the cooking station + wood (for fuel), you get cooked fish and ichor. Twine + ichor in cauldron makes stone consolidant. Brick + stone consolidant from your inventory makes a variety of jungle stone building pieces. I imagine tier 3 building pieces are far more complicated to make, but I haven't looked at them since I'm nowhere near high enough level to buy that feat yet. You can build your structures however you want and however long, wide, and tall... within some limits. Building is done via cubical tiles and the tiles snap together. You can place your first foundation tile facing any direction (and you can raise or lower it to your liking), but after that all the tiles snap together and all the pieces that I've seen so far are either rectangular or triangle shaped, so everything will be at either 45 or 90 degree angles. Maybe tier 3 introduces curved pieces or different angle pieces (30, 60 degree)? No clue about that. Snapping pieces together and rotating them correctly can be a bit finicky at first and there's a bug that will once in a blue moon prevent you from building in a spot, but there are workarounds for it. For the most part you can build anywhere. On flat ground, sloped ground, into the side of a cliff, etc. -

The building of my house is coming along nicely. I might be getting a little carried away, but I intend to host decadent parties complete with excessive use of mind-altering substances and wild orgies, like any self-respecting Stygian would aspire to, so why half-ass it? Who wants to have wild orgies in some ramshackle shack? I need to set a good example here. -
Thank you to whoever fixed the having to constantly login issue.

My new Stygian priestess: Starting work on a new house: It's going to take a while to build, but it will make for a pretty decent place to live and store all my stuff until I'm ready to start building my castle. -
Women don't (nearly as often as men) tend to bully physically anyway, they bully socially and emotionally. Men tend to resort to physical violence, women tend to go with character assassination. That is a weirdly arousing picture, though.

Thanks. With those 2 out of the way, my only issue with the new site now is the constantly needing to sign in thing. Otherwise the new site is *chef kiss*

So I wound up finding Conan Exiles at 50% off and wound up buying the PC version. It looks better on PC (not that it was ugly on PS4), runs better, has full nudity (for the authentic Conan experience I need nudity, sex, debauchery, slavery, and ritual sacrifices in my game), and is moddable. No native Linux version, but it runs flawlessly via Steam Play's Proton, exactly as it does on Windows with zero hoops to jump through to get it working. Now I'm scouring Steam Workshop for mods to install. I'm not going to do any total conversions yet, I'm mainly looking for an expansion of cosmetic options and weapon/armor/construction piece types. I mean, the base-game already has a plethora of building pieces for you to work with allowing you to make anything from huts to elaborate castles. I've really fallen in love with this game and will likely spend countless hours playing it going forward. I play solo on a custom difficulty which is normal difficulty minus the purge. I'm not trying to grief other players or get griefed by them (hence solo offline), nor do I want the purge ruining all my hard work periodically. I'm just looking to slowly tame the land and build a giant sprawling castle, complete with opulent keep and its own town full of my thralls (I treat em well, so long as they do their jobs well, otherwise they become a gift to the Old Serpent ).

My flag sig is 285x150 pixels, it shouldn't show up as gigantic unless you are viewing at extremely low resolution. There's a double line break there (at least it shows up for me), where there was no line break before between the flag gif and the link text below it. I'd love to edit the sig to get rid of the line break, but I don't see an option anywhere under edit profile to edit my sig. As for the old emojis, they're still there, you just need to scroll down past the 1000 crappy facebook emojis to get to them.

After a rather bumpy and luckluster regular season, which had many people asking "what's wrong with the Celtics?", "are the Celtics falling apart?", and "do you blow the team up?", Boston has hit another gear in the playoffs. Did they just happen to find a magic formula at the exact right time, or were they sandbagging during the regular seasons, ala Spurs? -
I gotta admit, I'm getting more enjoyment out of Conan Exiles than I thought I would. It's a survival sandbox, so there's no real story, but there are enough cool places to explore around the landscape that I get some of the same vibes that I get from exploring in an Elder Scrolls game, except with the added bonus of absolutely no level scaling, so I can (and have) run into enemies that will ANNIHILATE me. Combat is not exactly Bayonetta or anything, but it is skill-based enough that you can absolutely defeat enemies much stronger than you if you're good and attentive enough. It's critical to pull enemies to get 1 on 1 battles as 2 on 1 gets really rough and 3 on 1 or worse is a death sentence. You can stack the odds in your favor if you're playing co-op with others, but I'm going it solo. Too bad there's no mod support on consoles. If I ever see this game on a STEEP sale, I might scoop up a PC copy just so that I can mod it, and I'd get nudity as a side benefit (it's a Conan game, nudity is a significant part of the setting, shame they removed it on consoles).

The updated site looks fine, but it's super irritating having to log in again every single ****ing time I visit the site again. Can this get fixed so that we can stay signed in for a while, or, better yet, permanently? Also, how do I edit my sig so that I can get rid of that GARGANTUAN line break?

If Al Davis was still alive, the Raiders would have taken him at #4. What was the biggest WTF move of the draft? Was it the G-Men taking Daniel Jones at #6? I agree with them taking a QB to eventually replace the desiccated , moth-eaten corpse of Elisha Nelson Manning the Fourth, but Daniel Jones? When Haskins was still on the board? IMHO Murray and Haskins are clear "yeah, these guys are starters", and Lock, Jones, Finley and Stidham are "probably backups, but could maybe be starters".

I can't believe Jawaan Taylor fell all the way to the 2nd round. I saw at least 3 OTs go in the 1st that were lesser prospects than him. Are the health concerns really that severe to warrant a top 10 guy to fall all the way to the 2nd round?

I'm working on building a new house in Conan Exiles. At he start I built a very small very basic house on the banks of the oasis just as shelter from sandstorms and such. I've since found a nicer area with more plentiful resources (most importantly ironstone) and decided to build a new house, much bigger and better, there. It's taking a long time to gather wood and stone and make bricks, and iron reinforcements, and insulated wood but it will be a house I can use for a long time once I'm done. I finished the foundation and walls, now I need to make the roof. Once that's done I can start sprucing up the inside.

If the game is 1st person view and I have a choice I tend to pick male characters because I'm male and I feels like I'm looking through my own eyes. In 1st person I guess it doesn't make much difference since I will rarely see my character anyway. 3rd person I tend to make female toons, for the aforementioned reason, and isometric it's 50/50.

Conan Exiles My Stygian Priestess of Set (Stygians tend to have black hair, but the dark skin/white hair combo is too badass to pass up) Fresh off the cross Pissed off that someone had the gall to build a shrine to some pretender false god Standing in front of my freshly built shrine of Set. Now, I know what you're thinking, and you're completely right, that shrine is nowhere near magnificent enough to be worthy of the glory of the almighty Serpent God. It's going to have to suffice for now, I promise to build a much larger and more impressive one later. If it helps, I plan to shed a lot of blood on that altar. -
Treat it like a Bethesda game and mod the crap out of it. So, make all the females characters into nude supermodels?
-
Started up Conan Exiles on PS4. Went into character creation. Dong slider disabled. Uninstalled. I keed. I keed. I just made a female toon instead, Stygian, naturally. I tend to play female characters in 3rd person games anyhow because if I'm going to be staring at my character's ass the entire game, I might as well stare at a female ass. The game is alright. I imagine I'll tire of it fairly quickly, survival games were never my thing, but I'll give it a chance for a while because I always enjoyed the Conan setting. I need to capture some people and sacrifice them to Set. Don't give me that look, the Serpent God demands blood.

While I'm waiting for Conan Exiles to download I'm grinding in DQ XI. I'm doing a quest where I need to kill a Type G0 Killing Machine. The thing about this quest is that Type G0s have a VERY small chance of appearing when facing Menacing Killing Machines in a certain area. It's completely random. It could be the 2nd time, the 20th time, or the 2000th time I fight Menacing Killing Machines that a Type G0 appears (I've done around 50 battles so far). On the bright side, Menacing Killing Machines give pretty good exp and, contrary to their name, are not particularly high threats to my party (at my level they're borderline pushovers), mostly on account of the fact that they never inflict status ailments, so it's just a matter of surviving their damage output, which I can do easily. I'm at lev 68 now and plan to try my hand at some of those optional boss fights I got my ass handed to me on earlier again after I finally encounter and slay this Type G0. Edit: Killed the Type G0, defeated the Malicious Jormun that handed me my ass earlier, but the Malicious Auroral Serpent is still a little out of my league (I lasted significantly longer this time). I didn't try fighting the Crystalotl (whooped my ass around lev 63) again yet since that's in a completely different area.

Borderlands 2. I hated it (Loved the world, hated the gameplay).
