  1. Poland is where all the innovation in vidya games seems to be these days. While others are churning out tired Ubisoft-style open world collect-a-thons, us Poles are adding groundbreaking features like fetus consumption. Jestem dumny że jestem Polakiem
  2. I also want to get a 2 TB SSD, but I'm going to wait until faster PCIE4.0 memory controllers hit the market and go all out. If that happens by November-ish when I build a new rig that's great. If not, then I'll use my 500 GB SATA 2 as a stopgap.
  3. LotRO My heroic hobbit guardian Mirabell: I'm honestly shocked I managed to get this only slightly off-brand spelling of Mirabelle and didn't have to resort to adding a string of numbers. Dream sequence featuring ersatz Cate Blanchett: Fly you fools!
  4. My rig is 6 years old, so 6 years. I honestly don't remember what I paid.
  5. I don't know about timing-based modifiers. There are a multi-button options, but I don't recall seeing a timing-based option. There are a lot of things you can do with the Steam Controller because of the touch pads. For example, you can set up the right one to act like a mouse and you can configure mouse acceleration, haptic feedback levels, etc.
  6. So, with my X570 mobo I get PCIE4.0. That doesn't do anything for video cards yet, even a 2080 Ti doesn't come close to saturating PCIE3.0. It's unclear whether any Ampere or Big Navi cards will fully saturate 3.0, but for now the only tangible advantage of the newer PCIE standard is with NVMe SSDs. Here's the thing, though, as of right now, there's only 1 PCIE4.0 capable memory controller out there and so basically all the PCIE4.0 SSDs read and write at the same speed since the memory controller is the bottleneck. While it is faster than what PCIE3.0 is capable of, the Phison memory controller does not come close to pushing the limits of PCIE4.0. This is a long winded way of saying that, for now, I'll probably just reuse my existing SATA2 SSD as a stopgap until new memory controllers come out that push the limits of PCIE4.0, since the existing PCIE4.0 SSDs, while faster than 3.0, are not that much faster and they are a bit more expensive. Better hold off for now and get something BLAZING FAST 6 months or a year from now.
  7. What makes the Steam Controller special is how LUDICROUSLY configurable it is. For games specifically designed with a gamepad in mind, an XBOX controller or dualshock is at least as good, more often than not better. However, for games not designed for gamepads, the Steam Controller is LIGHTYEARS better than any other gamepad. There are other 3rd party apps out there to translate keyboard and/or mouse inputs to a gamepad, but none of them hold a candle to the Steam Controller's config utility. It's straight up bonkers the amount of options and the level of fidelity with which you can customize your setup. Best of all, you can save and import profiles online, so chances are there's already a great config for whatever game out there and you can fine tune it to your liking.
  8. I decided to give LotRO a try and made a female hobbit guardian, because (sadly) I can't play an orc, I wouldn't play an elf if you put a gun to my head, humans are boring, and dwarves are cool, but I've played tons of them in other games. I only just started but it seems decent enough, better looking than I expected from a 450 year old game. The combat is your bog standard MMO combat, which is to say about as stimulating as popping a Xanax and watching the paint dry, hopefully it gets better once I have more skills to work with. As an aside, the game plays quite well with a Steam Controller. I'm probably one of the only people on the planet that really likes the Steam Controller, I'm glad I got one when I did since it's unlikely Valve will continue to produce them.
  9. Warning: N-Bombs
  10. Whatever Lisa Su paid those shinobi to infiltrate and sabotage Intel's foundries, they earned all their money and then some. Seriously, though, Intel is still raking in money hand over fist, so I'm not going to break out a violin and play a sad tune for them (also, I can't play the violin). I do hope Intel gets its **** together with their fab. There are limits to what you can squeeze out of 14nm and the last thing I want is for AMD to get as far ahead of Intel as Intel was ahead of them 5 or 6 years ago. In an ideal world, team blue and team red are fighting tooth and nail with extremely competitive products, that's the best scenario for consumers.
  11. I found the blue disposable masks were too itchy, so I swithed to a bandana. It's more comfortable and way more stylish.
  12. Cyberpunk 2077 installation. _______............................. 32% Please insert disk 478436 of 98736432
  13. Y'all are gonna make me put in a 5 1/4 floppy drive so that I can out-grognard you.
  14. Since you had(ve) a DS, did you play either of the Devil Survivor games? I loved the **** out of those.
  15. I'm just gonna post this here with zero context:
  16. Dammit, @Amentep, now I'm even more tempted to waste my money on a Switch. As an aside, whenever anyone mentions SMT IV, I immediately think Strange Journey (which was awesome) rather than the actual SMT IV (which was aight). MegaTen's numbering scheme leaves a lot to be desired. As an aside to the aside, can a brother get a new Devil Summoner? Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
  17. I'm sure the ending of this game will surprise nobody, it's a by the numbers revenge story, but I'll spoiler tag this just in case.
  18. I can't justify buying a Switch just for 1 game. On the other hand, it's MegaTen. Dammit!
  19. I haven't used a sound card in well over a decade.
  20. I can't say for sure, but this felt like the penultimate mission.
  21. Sleepy ferret is sleepy.
  22. Linus lookin' good with that luscious beard, tho.
  23. The Peterbilt 579 I drive is automatic, all the trucks in my company's fleet are 'matics. There are still plenty of manuals out on the road, a lot of owner operators have them, but the industry as a whole is definitely moving toward 'matics, at least here in Murica. I missed manual when I first got put in a 'matic. A few traffic jams later I converted to the Church of the Holy Matic.
  24. I'm playing the most advanced version of American Truck Simulator ever made. Even Bokishi can't come close to this level of graphical fidelity. Also, let me tell you about my wheel and pedals setup; the force feedback is amazingly realistic.
