rAND-ohm vIDeO game NEW$
Apparently, it's not a free upgrade for owners of the existing game and only owners of the "Ultimate Edition" will get the free PS5 or xXxBOX Series xXx upgrade once the new consoles launch, which, as you can imagine, has some people up in arms. I don't know what the price of the "upgrade" is. If they expect you to pay full price as a previous owner that would be a **** move. If you own the game and all the expansions/season pass already then they should upgrade you for free, as far as I'm concerned and if you don't own the expansions then just basically charge you for whatever expansion(s) you are missing, but we'll see. This doesn't affect me, since I don't own the game yet nor am I getting one of the new consoles, not at launch, anyway. I wouldn't be playing it on a console in any case, but I do look forward to getting the game and playing it on my new desktop rig once I build it in a couple months.

You'd be surprised just how far arrogance and an air of superiority can get you. People, especially in large groups, are idiots, so if you carry yourself like you're better than they are, a shockingly large percentage will just believe you.- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
I started up Dishonored. What is there to say about the game, I'm sure most of you have already played it. It's Totally Not Thief™. For a PS3 game, it holds up surprisingly well visually.- AMD Ryzen
Probably a little longer. I expect the Zen 3 chips will release in November. The scuttlebutt is that Nvidia Ampere will release in September and AMD's Zen 3 CPUs and their Big Navi GPUs will release in November. This is all speculation, mind you, coming from sources with proven track records, but not from Nvidia nor AMD themselves.- AMD Ryzen
First we need to see what the prices will be for the different models. We still don't know if AMD will keep the core counts the same or increase them on each model. For example, we don't know if the R5 4600 (if that is what it will be called) will be 6 core/12 thread like the 3600 or perhaps 8/16. If the price difference isn't too big I would splurge for the 8/16 model simply because both the PS5 and xXxBOX Series xXx are 8/16 CPUs and developers tend to optimize their games to the lowest common denominator (i.e. the consoles).- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
I hit level 20 in LotRO and lost the will to continue. I downloaded SW:TOR, played it for about 2 hours and I came to the conclusion that I don't want to play a MMO. I go through this every couple years where I talk myself into trying MMOs again then I realize MMOs are just not for me. I'm currently downloading Dishonored.- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Not a vidya game, but the absolute worst example of uncanny valley is Alita Battle Angel. HARDCORE nightmare fuel.- Pictures of your games, lucky #13
^Man, the sisters in Othercide look creepy AF. How is the gameplay, Oner? It looks X-COM-ish.- Good Old Games still good
My solution to GOG's lackluster Linux support (they're still better than Epic et al in this respect) is that I buy from Steam. It's GOG's prerogative to support or not support whatever OSs they choose and I'm sure it's a business-driven decision where they feel developing and maintaining a Linux client for Galaxy is likely a net negative in terms of revenue. I can't fault them for that. Rather than get angry about it and vent on their boards and/or social media I simply choose to give my hard earned money to Valve instead, on account of their stellar Linux support. Seems like a much better solution, but that's just me.- Funny Stuff: The Funny Strikes Back

I'm sure I've posted this before, I'm posting it again because it's secretly the best song on what is considered by some to be the best metal album ever. Marty Friedman goes beast mode on the solo.- Pictures of your games, lucky #13

Earlier this year I did the carnivore diet for a little over 2 months and wound up losing 20 lbs. I am happy to report that a bit over 3 months after stopping the diet and going back to eating more balanced I have not gained a single pound back. I think the main factor is that I have stayed away from refined sugar like the plague. Refined sugar is enemy #1.- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
I was told that if you are the type of gamer who doesn't skip any dialogue and furthermore goes out of their way to find every bit of lore and also is into really weird mind-bending ****, then Control is pretty much a wet dream.- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Anyone here play Control? I'm thinking of getting it once it hits Steam, or once I build my new rig in a couple months. - Funny Stuff: The Funny Strikes Back
