  1. Beyond a Steel Sky This boy's name is Pixel (he has a brother named Voxel), he's pretty great.
  2. Hopefully, the still winds up being good, but this latest bit of news doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I was always more excited for the upcoming VtM: Swansong from Big Bad Wolf. I've not heard anything about it since the initial announcement, though.
  3. There is a countdown posted on Nvidia's Twitter account and, with a bit of math, it ends on Aug 31. Nothing confirmed yet, but this very likely means we'll be getting the announcement of the imminent launch of the RTX 3000 cards (or whatever numbers they use) from leather jacket enthusiast Jensen Huang on either Aug 31 or Sep 1. Ampere has been one of the most, if not THE most "leaked" Team Green product lines, to the point that I suspect Nvidia may have been purposely "leaking" information themselves, in some manner of pseudo-clandestine marketing scheme. In any case, the "leaks" have been repeatedly pointing to a September launch, so this all lines up perfectly.
  4. I still need to play Greedfall. The fact that a eurojank RPG has been out for this long and I haven't played it yet brings me shame.
  5. As a eurojank RPG connoisseur, I have fond memories of this one. Make sure you romance someone. Believe me, it's something to behold; even Bioware RPGs get a chuckle out of the sex scenes. There's a sequel called Technomancer if you are craving more eurojank. Also, I wholeheartedly recommend Bound By Flame from the same developer. The level of edgelord in that game is EPIC, especially if you embrace the demon.
  6. ^ You have a .45-70? Dang. I never got to shoot one but my buddy used to lovingly refer to his uncle's. 45-70 as the "shoulder destroyer".
  7. It's not that 10mm ammo is necessarily more expensive, I mean it will be slightly more expensive than 9mm simply because each shell is bigger, uses more metal, probably more gunpowder, etc. The issue is that your local gun store is unlikely to stock much 10mm, because it's not a popular caliber, so your selection will be severely limited as compared to a more popular caliber like 9mm. Now, if you are buying in bulk and are willing to wait a while to receive your ammo then that issue goes out the window.
  8. Buy Google stock. Fingers crossed that I remember those words 10 years later.
  9. Sadly, yes. That movie was so bad that I was convinced it was an Uwe Boll film (it's not) for years.
  10. I rewatched Mortal Kombat, the first one, Annihilation is straight garbage and has no redeeming qualities. Anyway, Mortal Kombat is by no stretch of the imagination a good movie, but it is goofy campy fun. What really got me, though, is how derpy Goro looks. He's supposed to be this menacing, intimidating... half-dragon(?), but his face is just so hilariously silly looking, never mind the claymation animations. As an action movie it's half-assed if I'm being generous, a third assed if I'm being real, but as a comedy it delivers the goods.
  11. A gentleman never tells. On a serious note, not initially, buy never say never. Besides, this is all in the future and circumstances could change several times between now and then.
  12. Why would I want a bulky AF Fallout monstrosity when I can have this classy beauty instead? Granted, Sigs are expensive, but I can afford it and sometimes you gotta treat yourself. I'm not going to buy right now, though, because people are buying up guns left and right for the coming apocalypse culture war societal collapse, so options are limited and prices are inflated.
  13. ^ I know, but I REALLY like 10mm. It's a sadly underappreciated caliber, but it's quite good in virtually any situation.
  14. ^ I'm probably going to get a Sig P220 myself; 10mm version.
  15. When I was home a few days ago I did all my bike rides in the morning before the temperature got too high. Prime riding conditions are October through early December and March through early May where I live. Not coincidentally, those are just plain the best parts of the year.
  16. Worrying about microchips when 5G is going to give you Coronavirus, Ebola, and Super AIDS.
  17. I imagine there will be growing pains with littleBIG at first, but they'll get the scheduling ironed out across Windows, Linux, BSD, etc eventually, though it may take a year or two. I think it's a great idea, and overdue, quite frankly, anywhere power consumption is a primary focus. On a desktop chip, on the other hand, I'd rather they didn't waste die space on low power cores, at least not on any enthusiast-grade chip.
  18. Alternatively, Bullwinkle creeping on Natasha.
  19. SuperFin, eh? Intel can call it whatever they want, let's just hope they can mass produce chips with it. More interesting than that, to me, anyway, is the news that Alder Lake will apparently utilize a littleBIG approach. ARM chips in mobile devices have been doing this for years and it's a smart approach to power saving. More useful in laptops snd servers than desktops and workstations, methinks.
  20. On the contrary, I'd be more inclined than ever to walk through that door. The odds are better than ever that whatever alternative dimension is on the other side is an upgrade.
  21. I made cheddar & broccoli soup to take on the road with me when I go back to work tomorrow. I haven't actually eaten a bowl of it yet, but I licked the ladle after I finished transferring it to tupperware bowls and it was delicious. Butter, white onion, carrot, clove of garlic, broccoli florets, chicken stock, half & half, shredded cheddar, corn starch to thicken, salt & pepper to taste.
