Your Tiers List [Base Classes, Subclasses]
dunehunter replied to theBalthazar's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
If you plan to rebalance sneak attack, I’d suggest rebalance soul whip too, one is +50% damage, one is +40% damage at lvl 3. Quite close and nobody complain multclass a cipher is too good. IMO it’s not because rogue’s early power is too good, but their later power too trash, they are already lowest tier class in PoE 1 -
Just like lashes from Spiritual Weapons I guess. Out of interest has that been fixed or are they still doing so? I tested and some does some not... Priest spiritual weapon = no, eternal flame from FoD = yes.
-
Okay that's awesome. Do you know if its intended or a bug? Sadly I think it's a bug, and it's not the PL is applied to wizard spells, but the soul whip bonus from ascended is mistakenly applied to spell damage
-
There can be a feature for some light weapon called - suitable for backstabbing, which gives some bonus to acc and damage when backstabbing. Also the problem of Full attack/primary attack, DW/2H should be discussed seperately imo because that's a different story where 2h is much weaker.

Would be nice to have AI to switch weapons, and have quick switch availble to everybody.

Ascended applies to non-cipher spells
dunehunter replied to dunehunter's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Ok the issue is the ascended will be applied to soul whip when at max focus, so originally it was +10% weapon damage, and when ascended, the soul whip damage is at +10% + 20%(ascended). Ascended also increase cipher's PL by 3, but the issue is the +20% soul whip damage is mistakenly applied to all spell damage too. so now a cipher spell is buffed by +3 PL and +20% damage which was supposed to be weapon damage only. -
[bug] Portrait turns colorless after frenzy

As topic. -
So a berserk (or simply confused) chanter surrounded by summoned skeletons should get at least +2 / skeleton hit? Tested and sadly this doesn't work, too bad
-
You shall try combo Evoker/Ascendent, it seems now the Ascended buff will apply to all caster spells, so once you are at max focus you, got more PL than a single class wizard(you got +3 PL from ascended, while -2 PL from multiclass), I tested a nature godlike Evoker/Ascendent and it nukes really hard, first use Arquebus or other firearms to reach max focus(which is really easy with draining whip), then use Wizard blasts first because they are more powerful, oncce u are run out of wizard ones, cast something like mind blades and soul ignition instead. My mind blades did 100+ damage at lvl 9 so I'd say this combo is a very good aoe damage dealer, while didn't far behind meleers when killing single targets.

Tried an Ascendent/Priest and the ascended +power is applied to all spells, including priest ones, bug or intended?
-
Did you max perception? Anyways, **** happens and everyone can miss. It's not like Soul Anihilation has lower accuracy than normal attacks. But you hit "most" of the time atm. I mostly mess around solo PotD atm, party is easy mode . Yep, I tried a pale elf paladin/soul blade with 20 Perception, dw doesn't really work well on PoTD because I just miss so much with my attacks, and my soul annihilation miss a lot. I might try a ranger/soulblade instead, or use single weapon style instead of dw.
-
No, abilities no longer get the 1 ACC per level bonus now.
-
I missed a lot with Soul Annihilation, I'm playing on PoTD...

So now ranged weapons finally works for backstabbing, but still have two issue: 1) DW, specially light weapons are still inferior for backstabbing, it's weird for rogue to backstabbing someone with big sword; 2) Blunderbuss is useless for backstabbing because now only one attack will work for backstabbing so only the 1st projection of blunderbuss works... Imo this can be easily fixed by give rogue a time window for backstab to work, for example, every attack within 2 second from invisible will be counted as a backstab attack, problem solved.

multiclasses feel underwhelming now
dunehunter replied to mrmonocle's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yeah totally agree with your post, the point cost should reward with real benefit, something like 5% hit to crit convert for the team is meh, same as dirty fight, which is so bad compare to disciplined strike. Similarly, cipher get +20% damage with his soul whip passive, cost 1 point; Sworn enemy gives you +20% damage to one enemy, cost 1 point and 1 zealot, this is really bad deal and dunno who gonna take it anymore now. -

Dirty fighting is 10% of hit convert to crit So in pratice it increases crit rate by 5% -

Rogue suffers more than fighters on the issue that the resource pool is fixed no matter how many active abilities you have. All rogue abilities are of this category so you pick cripple strike, withering strike but hey you only have 5 guile to use them, which make this pretty meanless. They need some self buff abilities like fighter/monk/barbarians, and of course more passives. -

I agree with you that 2h is behind dw yeah, only in few cases 2h is better. -

Single class would not be happy with that a. A slightly upgraded Heart of Fury would not be stronger than the multiclass benefits a barb would receive from pretty much any combination. I’d say it depends on how they design the upgrades, some of the upgrade abilities are very good, for example the fighters discipline strike that grant u tier 3 perception inspiration. The original one is only tier 1. That isn't really interesting though and you could probably get that inspiration from somewhere else + getting an entire class worth of abilities to pick from. So that's not going to work unless you make super absurd versions of top tier abilities, which would probably a nightmare to code. Better off making new abilities exclusive to Single Class. Multiclass needs to be an actual choice with consequence Shrug I think you might be the minor here who think the disciplined strike not appealing... -

A berath/stalker was pretty decent last beta, the wounding got nerfed now it’s damage is really low, even you hit someone with 200+ damage, the DoT is like 17 or so. But ranger is still the class with best single target accuracy, with priest u can get +10 acc from mark, 10 from flank, 10 from stalkers link, 20 from devotions =+50 acc, and all of these bonus applies to spells too, not only melee attacks. Same as ranger/cipher with borrrowed instinct. Could be the best single target CCer in the game because the crazy acc he has.
