  1. WHY AREN'T PEOPLE BACKING THIS?? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2049430629/flagship-space-strategy-from-a-first-person-perspe
  2. The developers of Graywalkers have just released a (Pre-alpha) Demo that you can download here. Looks promising
  3. Well then, you are completely anti-science, anti-evidence, anti-empiricism. There is really no doubt about this in pertinent academic fields. The only resistance here comes from societal elements; from abusive people who themselves were abused so they internalized it and turned it into their worldview of how reality is suppose to work. Of course. I must be. Because your words are SCIENCE! Your claims of "all scientific studies confirm what I say"... BS. Loads of BS. I know that because I can both find scientific studies that say otherwise and because of personal experience telling me otherwise. So yes. There is doubt. Tons of it. ALWAYS. Doubt is the foundation of science, not blind dogma that you seem to believe in.
  4. It's irrelevant and intellectually infantile. I've read enough about economics, neurology, structural anthropology, social psychology, and history to realize which things are key to a long term, peaceful, and prosperous human society(global or local). 1. peaceful parenting (no hitting, spanking, yelling, namecalling, everything must be based on negotiation and evidence based reasoning instead of parental authority), this is the foundation of everything. All research in the last 4 decades from many disciplines points to this. You should especially read/listen to this book - The Origins of War in Child Abuse. You can notice this today, it is no coincidence that blacks on average are far more violent with their primitive culture of parental aggression against children and their hyper-religiosity. 2. decentralization, we are finally here: internet, crypto currency, 3D printing, renewable energy parity grids. Never before were such ingredients present to effortlessly achieve decentralized, stateless societies. Grave implications of the Milgram experiment (since repeated dozens of times in different cultures with always the same results) must be taken seriously. 3. power of the free market, with its self-rectifying mechanisms, the single force that skyrocketed our life expectancy, comfort and technology. It goes without saying that with orderly dissolution of governments it would finally achieve its full potential. HAHAHHAHA Oh Wise One, ye who mastered so much knowledge from different fields, ye who's wisdom surpasses all! Grant us the boon of your word! Tell us ignorant peasants how you know whats best for everyone because you're so smart and learned! I call BS on all of your points. Especially the first one and last one.
  5. Well, things are certainly getting out of hand. Get this - I just got my posting right removed in a Gen Desc forums on Kerberos Forums. Why? Because I said that all those people posting death and rape threats are overly-emotional idiots and kids, but that their "threats" are ultimatively empty and there's no reason to take them seriously at all. After all, on the internet it's normal to deal with trolls and silly (and awful) posts and threats. That was enough to mark me as horrible human being apparently. I love Kerberos and the games they make, but some of their staff just have a massive chip on their shoulders (and an ego that would shame Seito Kaiba)
  6. There's also a mod that restores the Civil War storyline and makes it much more awesome.
  7. The problem some open-world games (like Oblivion or Skyrim) may be also that content is TOO DENSELY PACKED. You have lost ruin in spiting distance of a town. Bandit camps next to fortresses. To have the illusion or a proper, real land, you really need it to feel somewhat empty.
  8. Are you kidding me? The Imperial city is redicolously small
  9. Incorrect. For low-res, tiny sprites, it may not take long (but more than you'd think) Large sprites are usually renders of 3D models (meaning you had to make and animate a 3D model anyway)
  10. Since when being protected from abuse the same as being guaranteed a job based on some quota? I have zero problem with companies hireing people on whatever criteria they see fit - as long as people are capable, I don't care about anything else. That however doesn't mean the employer can do whatever he wants.
  11. Well, you do realise a teacher could be more lenient, give an extension or whatever for tons of other reasons. Like for example, just liking the student better. It doens't have to do anything with sex
  12. I'm so glad this forum seems to be run by saner heads and there isn't heavy censorship or ban-hammering going around (like on many other forums).
  13. God, how I hate this. You cannot have a reasonable debate on this subject on most forums. The friggin fanaticism boggles the mind. Religious zealots pale in comparison. It's impossible to stay neutral. I tried. But god help you if you post any article the group doesn't agree with. Immediately the writer (and you) are "sitting in the ivory tower", are "mansplaining", etc, etc...
  14. I only support myself and my opinions. I refuse to fall in line with movements led by people I know nothing about, using tactics I don't approve of and generally being a mangled, tangled, non-transparent mess of conflicting ideas, ideals, emotions and agendas.
  15. You can't please everyone. It's pointless to try.
  16. Not the exact vibe I'm getting. Every year I see more and more games aimed at females in the Steam Store or GamersGate. So it's obvious the industry is already shifting. Not to mention that many on the "feminist" side seem to want to completely ban many games as they are now. Few talk about diversity. Some talk only about ending this and that trope or practice forever. What galls me is how both sides want to just shut the other side completley up. The Internet has always been a bastion of free speech, but it too is getting less and less free. The irony here is that the "gaming culture" is not defined. Not really. We ARE talking about the internet. When you have millions of people shielded by anonimity you're going to have toxicity regardless of your sex, age, religion or whatever. It's practically impossible to put that many different people, from different cultures and sourroundings and different experiences, and then expect they will all get along nicely. They won't. Many seem to treat the internet as their back yard. It's not. It's a brutal wild land and the sooner people correct their expectations, the better. There is no inherent right or guarantee that you won't be insulted or feel bad on the internets.
  17. I find that subjects like these on the internet tends to bring out the worst extremist ever. On both sides. And both are equally wrong..in different ways. The worst is the totalitarian view of "you're either 100% with me or 100% against me".. and the dirty tactics both sides are more than willing to ignore. Both sides like to pressure whomever doesn't agree in any way they can. Both are very selective in their data. Both suck. And trying to stay as neutral as possible gets you flamed by both sides. I can't even agree with 90% of what someone is saying.. not, it's has to be 100% or "GTFO you monster!" Just recently I've been warned by the owner of another forum to case voicing my opinion as such opinions are not welcomed here. Even tough I agreed with the stupidity of attacks on female gamers, the disgusting lengths to which some would go to, fabrication of data, vitirol, etc.. What I didn't agree on was that anyone posting death threats is a monster - childish boys will act like stupid boys and threatening to kill someone isn't uncommon and such impotent threats - as distasteful and stupid as they are - are not really a cause for alarm. As soon as I posted that I was subject by the "holier than thou" speech of how defending such filth has no place in a civilized world and that I must case and desist spreading such hertical thoughts. Internet is a d*** farm. You can't go two paces without running into d***.
