  1. Josh just posted a picture on twitter/instagram showing the names of a lot of backer items. Plenty of nice sounding items. I particularly look forward to "the Disappointer" (a pistol).
  2. If a thread ever should have been locked two pages ago, it is this thread. This thread has become a silly mess.
  3. ... not know what you will do, but Gromnir will only have three or four. HA! Good Fun! Ah, you and your split personalities. I thought "we" included "me". That was a good ha. And fun.
  4. What makes you think we will only have three or four companions at any given time?
  5. I'm doubting the devil of Caroc too. The entire name is somehow out of place, compared to the other names we've seen so far. Also, Caroc seems to be a card game within the Discworld setting, where the devil is one of the cards in the deck (if I understood it correctly). I do not doubt however that we'll have a fighter companion. I feel fairly certain the companions will cover all the four basic classes.
  6. No, the number of companions have not increased. As I posted earlier, we only have three confirmed joinable companions so far; Eder, Pallegina and unnamed Orlan cipher. Everything else is just assumptions and guesses.
  7. I'm assuming either a dwarf and a human or a Godlike and a human. For some odd reason, I don't think we'll get an Aumau warrior. Probably to subvert tropes. I'm not certain barbarian will be represented by a joinable NPC. And no, I don't think we will see an Aumau warrior and I don't think it will be a dwarf either (I'm assuming a ranger will be represented by Sagani). So human is my bet.
  8. Not so fast, mister! These characters have been introduced during the Kickstarter Campaign: Edair – will be in the final game, but the name changed to Edér and the appearance also changed. Aloth – an elven wizard Cadegund – a human priest Forton – a Savannah human monk Sagani – a boreal dwarven ranger All of these character ideas were generated by Josh Sawyer without input from anyone else. While some of them will be appearing as companions more-or-less as they described them, some may appear in a different guise, some may appear as non-companion NPCs, and some may not appear at all. Source: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Companion The only "truly" confirmed companions are Edér, Pallegina and an unnamed orlan cipher. Though it is likely some of the characters on your list will make it into the game as joinable companions.
  9. Well, we could reveal our own contributions, no? Never! I'd rather have Tim Cain choke me to death with chocolate chip cookies. I show mine, if you show yours? Bryy: Can't you check with the mods if it somehow is possible to edit the original post? It will be hard to track all the backer content when the thread grows larger.
  10. I actually like Anomen. I avoided him for so many years because everyone complained about him. So when I did a run with BG2:EE I took him along anyway and I actually liked his story arc. Though I had a male char, so I didn't do his romance, maybe that is where the issue lies? But I'm getting off topic here. Is the items and NPC:s supposed to be on this list too?
  11. I like your reasoning. It's quite sound. There is basically no reason to make plate and scale different. On the other hand, I find that Obsidian has kept the different types of armors on a reasonable level so far (compared to other fantasy games from the past). So of all the things to nit pick at, this one wouldn't be at the top of my list. But I don't blame Gromnir from having a go at it. Fleet of foot, and all that.
  12. 1. I think the developers are obligated to make a game in a way that was put forth at the Kickstarter page. If they, in PoE:s case, promise two large cities, they must provide two large cities in the game. It's a contract they made with the contributors to the game. 2. I suppose people can criticise all they want, however, the developer can't take into account every single point of view put forth on a forum for example. The developer has to focus on what they promised in the first place or the whole project might go bananas.
  13. I need to pay for an account to read that forum. Can't you copy the interesting bits and paste them here?
  14. That was my assumption too. Btw, are we certain the photo is genuine?
  15. 1. I stated in an earlier post that companion NPCs with backstories are one of the fundamental parts of the game for me. I wouldn't trade one of them for a paper doll in the adventurer hall for anything. 2. They have already told us the classes of 3 of the NPCs which are in the game. So how could knowing the classes of the rest of the 5 NPCs be any worse than already knowing the first 3?
  16. Do we know how Ciphers gain their Focus? Is it constantly regenerating through "contact" or only regenerated through 'soul whip' or ?? The "contact" is achieved using melee or ranged weapon, which makes the Focus regenerate. Josh stated so in the interview atleast.
  17. That's an old interview from 2012. Things have changed since then.
  18. I'm not claiming it will be a problem having one or more characters of the same class, that's not the issue. The point is that I want diversity. I'd like to know the classes cause it might affect my class choice (I have a few classes that I'm considering playing with my PC). So basically, I do care.
  19. On that note, I think it's actually kinda great when you meet a goodly amount of interesting NPCs in the game, but don't really know which ones, exactly, are going to be able to join your party. You kinda meet people and say "Oooh, I wonder if they'll join me at some point?" Or, they could end up being "bad guys," or just being part of some elaborate plot or something. It's kind of a nice mystery. Or, it can be. I totally agree. But I don't think knowing the classes of the NPCs will take the mystery part away.
  20. I was thinking about where to post this, however I'm not sure this (classes of the NPCs) could be considered spoilers after all, given the fact that the classes of three of the NPCs have been announced openly in updates from the devs without any spoiler tags or similar warnings.
  21. Regarding Aloth, Sagani, Forton and Cadegund; they are not certain at all, since none of them are confirmed. I am assuming the four base classes will be covered. To that we count the paladin and the cipher which are confirmed. That leaves us with two more classes for the joinable NPCs. To me, getting the info on the classes, isn't that much of a spoiler. But granted, that is subjective of course.
  22. But that list is the same as the one I offered in the original post. So your link didn't make me wiser I'm afraid.
