  1. Looks like the zombie theme isn't quite dead yet.
  2. New poll shows who Dems want in 2028 — and it’s not Kamala Harris It's Pete Buttigieg. Surprise. But other polls put Harris in first, so who knows at this point? Supposedly Harris is considering a run for governor of California. Not sure if that suggests Gavin Newsome is planning a run for Prez. His approval ratings in California have sunk below 50% in most areas.
  3. Hallucinating AI report confirmed: The AI Slop Scandal Around the MAHA Report Is Getting Worse Well at least it's consistent with the rest of the MAGA party's conspiracy theory mindset. I suppose after enough beers it even starts to make sense.
  4. White House acknowledges problems in RFK Jr.'s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ report Perhaps AI hallucinations? Make AI Healthy Again. MAHAhahahaha...
  5. Court says Trump doesn't have the authority to set tariffs "Stuff" just got real. But why did it take them so long to rule?
  6. Re-reading the Broken Earth series from N. K. Jemisin because it's been a few years now, and I'm seeing a lot of details I missed the first time through. I was thinking maybe Sonequa Martin-Green to play the role of Essen. She's 40 now so that fits. How about Morgan Freeman for Alabaster? Timothée Chalamet could be Hoa.
  7. Live-Action Elden Ring Movie on the Way from A24 and Director Alex Garland Of course it's not going to be another video game to movie train wreck, right?
  8. German court convicts 4 ex-Volkswagen managers of fraud in emissions scandal A decision that resembles actual justice? Well good on the German judiciary then.
  9. I think you just contradicted yourself. The ready availability of USA sources vs. a higher risk of extracting central Ukraine sources will have an impact on investments.
  10. I think they only said they have multiple games in development. That may indicate they have something other than WH40K in the works. Time will tell.
  11. The US just found an enormous deposit of lithium on the Nevada-Oregon border. (US$1.5 trillion worth.) Another giant deposit was found in Arkansas. Not to mention large amounts of lithium found in fracking deposits. That may change the resource situation a bit.
  12. Well it's almost barbeque season, if it isn't already.
  13. Which is better: mental decline or mental derangement? I'm not sure either is useful in a leader.
  14. I have watched WoT and it was okay entertainment. The problem always was that WoT dragged on for 15 books, and there's almost no way the series could have lasted that long. I'd rather see something like Jemisin's wonderful three volume Broken Earth trilogy in live action form.
  15. The problem will be solved with a magic Sharpie marker, just you watch.
  16. I'm finding Dorodo is a pretty good watch. It's certainly more adult oriented than many Anime series, with less of the goofy humor. The art for this fantasy medieval Japanese-style setting is decent as well.
  17. Another incompetent decision has now been reversed: In reversal, Trump administration restores classes at the National Fire Academy
  18. As usual, after complaining about a Democratic President's deficit spending, the Big B.S. Bill is predicted to add $3.7 trillion/decade to the deficit. Well at least that is less than the $7.8 trillion added during Trump's first term. (Biden's was $6.2 trillion.)
  19. Norm! Yeah, back in college we all watched Cheers in the lounge. Good series it was.
  20. I'm watching Orphan Black: Echoes on Hoopla w/ Krysten Ritter. It's a pretty nice service; all I need is a library card to check out an episode.
  21. Trump confronts South African leader with baseless claims of the systematic killing of white farmers Well either Trump-whisperer Musk has him turned, or Trumps cray-cray is leaking. Maybe both.
