I think he's saying its slightly obvious how proud you seem of your own posts. Ring a Ding! Ah. It was more of an attempt at playful banter with you, like saying "there's no need to get so upset over someone's post that you do three headbang emoticons and shout an exclamation of frustration in all caps..." but, sure, I guess setting myself up for you to rip on me is more of what you wanted. I'm sure you are proud of yourself. Well done. Being a jerk to people must be what you mean about "manning up." You do sound just as proud on this one. Dude, you never argue a point. The only thing you do is point a finger and say "See they are jerks. Therefore romances.". And you say it all in a "White Knight"-ly manner as well. Do you think it's difficult to pick up on that? You still sound like you think you made the world a better place.... for romance minigames!

Sure, but I find the behavior of several of the anti-romance crowd highly hypocritical. Afterall more than half of Obsidian“s games have this feature, starting with their very first game in 2004, yet they act as if promancers were asking for some new thing that was never a part of an Obsidian game. There is nothing hypocritical about it. You don't have to like everything in a game to like the game. We are not against good characters or plot, we just don't want things that don't add up anything to those; and adding romance minigames doesn't do that, it just costs time and resources.

Really? People in favour of romance subplots are monsters who exist to be fought and slain again and again? Do you think you could lay off the hyperbole? Seriously? I'm not the one doing the hyperbole. It was a joke and I was referring to pvp not mobs. You guys really need to grow up, or do these things really hit a nerve and you just can't admit your reasons for wanting romance minigames?

The Powergaming Problem
kenup replied to Kiarean's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
There is no powergaming problem. It's natural to want to make the most efficient build(among other things). -
Case of point, each path of a character is: a character in it self, a new sub-plot possibly affecting the plot, a new player character. And that is only for the writing phase. There are also the peer reviews and edits later and their implementation, programming etc. Unless you just want to replace lines or a "darling" at the end.

No fetch quests
kenup replied to Catharsis's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
That's worse than Fetch quests. Fetch quests can't be ignored all together though as Ieo said. There are good fetch quests, that are not just "go take x item and bring them to y". There can be many twists in between, or at the end, or you can be the one making the twist. They can be a test from someone, or unlike ME3's sidequests give something really good character and world insight instead of adding numbers that nobody knows what they mean.
