Abortion Clinic - Randy Marsh Abortion QTE Broken
Dear ElerondI am playing this on PC and I didn't quite understand how to pass the second part. For spinning counterwise fast, do you mean I should press A several times? Or what? I am so frustrated about this and other websites didn't help me either. Can you please help? Those instructions were for Xbox 360 version, they probably work also for PC if you use Xbox 360 controller or some other pad that are similar. With keyboard you need in my understanding make indicator cursor move several times between most left and most right, as fast as you can.

Update #77: Art in Alpha
I found both b00b plates and scales to be poor way to make male and female characters have different visual look. I am not against b00b plates if they have boob swell for both male and female users, but I think they should not be among best armors in game if game also has more functional designs. But I find inclusion of b00b scale to be unnecessary and ridiculous looking way to make male and female characters look different and it also causes me to lose some of my suspension of disbelief. I was quite vocal in my opposition of b00b armors during kickstarter campaign and some months after it and I was quite happy when Obsidian showed their armor designs concepts for PoE and I was some what disappointed when they showed their in engine design for female scale armor, but I found myself in point where I didn't want use any more energy to write about issue, as I am quite sure that developers know that backers have people that think like me and they still felt that breast bulge was best way to differentiate male and female characters. I have some solice from that fact that in engine design looks such that it is hardly noticeable from isometric view, which don't really make it any less disappointing decision.

"But it was made for us."
It often seems that people misunderstand how Kickstarter is designed to work, by both backers and project creators. As Kickstarter isn't meant to be pre-order platform, but funding platform where people can fund projects and they are compensated with rewards that project creator offers. Kickstarter model works fine in pre-ordering when project seeks only funding for mass production of completed product, but problems with model start to become surface when project seeks funding to develop product and offer that product as reward, because then backers don't know exactly what they are pre-ordering or even if product will be completed in first place. It is this uncertainty that make (some) people become invested on development on product, as they have paid for idea of product and they want to be sure that product will coincide with that idea in degree that they find to be acceptable. And when project creators promise that they will let backers have influence in development people become even more invested on product, which of course leads that people start to feel that they should have right to demand things from project creators. To answer OP question: I would say developers have as much obligation towards their backers as they have promised in their rewards, so if developer offers as reward a game which development backers have direct influence then I see they are in obligation to deliver such. But if developers only offer as reward a game that is their vision of retrogame then developers are only obliged to deliver that game, although they are free to make modifications in their vision if they find out during development that some their ideas don't work or some other ideas would be better. This of course becomes more complicated if developers promise specific mechanic/features/etc. to be in the game, as dropping such during development becomes much more questionable thing to do, which why is see that developers should have superb reason to dropping that, as they have used it to get at least some of their funding for the game.

Will Pillars of Eternity have better combat system than Dragon Age Origins?
I think that would cause more disadvantage for player than exploit as your party don't get back their per fight abilities, which I think are in most cases more important than those per day buffs that last until end of encounter or so long that they matter if you use them before encounter.

Minor Arcane Reflection is moderate protection spell. It protects wizard by giving him or her chance to reflect low level spells (up to level 3 targeted spells and total 10 spell levels worth of spells if wizard success in will attack towards casters will, failed reflection attempts count towards spell level total) back to their casters. It don't make anything that enemy can use against wizard useless, so it don't fulfill any definition of hard counter that I know.

Is there gonna be rag doll physics?
Idea behind ragdoll physics is to make on the fly dynamic character rig animations that can be controlled with mathematical variations that usually represent different forces in the game. Ragdoll physics is easier and cheaper way to produce large variety of animations for character in game when they move because of for impact, gravitation or some other forces. Downside of rag doll physics is that they demand more processing power from computer that runs the game, although these days computer usually have quite lot processing power to spent, which make it usually not a issue. One can make ragdoll physics in Unity by using its Rigidbody component (which can be used to all rigid body animation not only to ragdoll animations), but I can't say anything what quality animations it produces. As making animations, produced by physic engine, to look good is usually reason why people pay high prices, that middleware developers ask for their products. Using ragdoll physics in PoE maybe bit trickier than in pure 3D game, as backgrounds is flat 2D plane, but as they are already solved this issue in their water and lighting effects by storing height information from original 3D models that they use to render backgrounds, one could thing that they could use same information to make ragdoll animations work with the backgrounds.

Will Pillars of Eternity have better combat system than Dragon Age Origins?
Defender ability gives fighters ability to engage multiple opponents, but same time it raises amount of glance hits they do, so they can slower enemy characters attack towards you more vulnerable, but same time weaken fighters combat proficiency. So if fighter fights against single enemy then using defender ability will hinder him as well if he fights against multiple higher level enemies. Engagement works in at least in three different ways to slower characters, first is that character's movement action is canceled (except when character has special abilities like barbarians than give them ability to ignore movement cancels [Wild Rush]) when character moves on engagement zone or suffers disengagement attack and second is disengagement attack (except when character has special abilities that give character ability move out from engagement zone without provoking disengagement attack, like rogues have [escaper]), which is regular attack with higher chance to do more damage, and non-engaged characters can do flank attacks against engaged characters. Character don't have engagement zone if s/he has paralyzed, knocked down or some other status effect that prevent him or her maintaining threat. Character can't engage new characters if has engaged with maximum number of enemies that s/he can engage (which is every other class than fighter one), which means that those character that s/he can't engage can run freely past her/him or do flank attacks against him/her. And there will be enemies with their special engagement and disengagement bonuses.

Translations
I remember still with abhorrence X-Files game which Finnish translation made game just as hilarious mess, because it had such nice translations like light was translated as kevyt (something with little weight), even though context where it was used was to describe light coming from flashlight.

Let's All Watch A Fedora Man Destroy Himself Online
So the faintest hint of having a sex drive and wanting a serious relationship gives you a "serious predatory vibe"? Heh, okay dude. No, knowing what kind men and how many men woman has had sex, knowing woman's texting habits, etc. things make text sound predatory. Impression that I get from narrator of these and many other similar fantasies are that serious relationship means sexual relationship instead of emotional, which is made stronger by narrator claim that know girls in their twenties are interested about him with implication that they are willing to have sex with narrator. Which gives me impression that narrator has very different opinion than me that what consist as serious relationship.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
When you compare crime statistics from two different countries you should also take account how those countries document their crimes and if there is lack interest from official to write crimes down. Sweden for example has high number rapes in it statistic because they mark every reported rape as crime in their statistic, where many countries crimes are counted by number of charges raised, which can mean that rapes aren't documented if there is nobody charged for it and that serial rapist that has raped several women or rapists that have raped same woman several time is only one mark in statistics. And then there is always that fact that in many countries women don't report that they have been raped because they fear social stigma that it brings.

Let's All Watch A Fedora Man Destroy Himself Online
I always think first that nice guy fantasies, where writer makes nice guy sound like entitled whiner that gives serious predatory vibe than anything else, are ironic mockeries about nice guy cliché, but every time I found out that writer is absolute serious with his (and writer always seems to be male) writing. But however it isn't fantasies themselves that make me always question wiseness of humanity, but comment sector which is always full of comments of support, misogyny, "way to tell those bitches that you should not mess with us (meaning self declared "nice guys™" )" or something similar.

Will PoE have level scaling? (Please no)
In games that have PC that levels up, using level scaling on critical path is somewhat necessary to keep game challenging, because main plot can easily become too easy if player can out level foes on it by doing side quests and in of game beginning it somewhat necessary that enemies in critical path are in lower level than what they are in end of the game, but outside of critical path use of level scaling becomes much less necessary thing. Although even if you use level scaling outside of critical path it don't mean that it there can't be challenging encounters that you need to come back later on. For example there could be a dragon that has level scaling from 15-20 level depending on what level player's party is, more closely when player's party is on levels 1-2 dragon is on level 15, when party is on levels 3-4 dragon is on level 16 and so on, but in all probability player's party has to be at least on level 7 to have chance against the dragon, but even if player maxes his or her party's level dragon will still be deadly challenge. So level scaling don't mean necessary that there isn't such challenges where player finds him/herself overpowered by the foe. Therefore it is for me quite same if there will or will not be level scaling in PoE, as long as game's encounters are challenging (and rewarding) enough through the game to be interesting.

Kickstarter backer and Wasteland 2
Wasteland 2 beta access wasn't part of any Project Eternity's tier. Wasteland 2 will probably be released sometime of this summer, which is when PoE backers probably will get their keys.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
They have improved UI quite lot from release of beta and have said that they continue to do so. Combat system is good (there is variety of tactics to use, environment gives you different options, by offering covers, exploding items and bottlenecks) but in some encounters (in some random encounters you start next to close combat enemies that are also much faster than you ever can be and hit much harder can you and they usually start, which can make such encounter quite dull as you have high change to lose half of your team before you can do first action, and then there is some encounters where there is lots of low level monsters that take forever to move [thankfully there is option to make enemies moving animations play faster], but they don't pose any real threat towards you even with in such high numbers [which is probably because of skill current skill imbalance]) could benefit from some polish and rethinking. And there is cases where UI still causes some hindrances, but hopefully those will be fixed before the release. Skill system is currently very unbalanced but developers have said that it is on purpose as they want people to have access more skill and higher level skill sooner than what they can do in released version, so that people than give their opinion of them. And they haven't yet to release version where abilities have much impact on skills, which also causes some imbalance in the game. Graphics are passable they aren't on AAA level, but also they aren't in such poor quality that they would hinder gameplay. In my opinion aesthetics of game are OK and give Wasteland like feeling. Music in the game is excellent Writing seems to have its ups and downs but I try not judge it too harshly before final release. Voice acting in parts where there is such is such that it fits in the game and hasn't become annoying. Player actions seems to have consequences that have major impact how future missions play through.

What version of windows OS will Pillars run on?
Dunno how accurate those are. And that would be...? IIRC, DX9 is more flexible and gives you more control of CPU utilization and overhead (of course, if you know how to do that), unlike DX10/11, that's why DX12 is supposed to fix that. And DX9 is still capable nowadays: http://www.abload.de/img/2011-05-19_000232n85.jpg DX9 - 11 all have same problems with CPU utilization and overhead, although there has been some optimizations in DX11. But main problem is that DX till can only use one CPU core. And for developer DX10+ versions offer much more flexibility than DX9, but DX9 was only version that works in Xbox 360 and PS3 supports about same features, which is why games that are ported or made for consoles need to take consideration that it needs to work and look good with DX9 renderer. DX10 and 11 offer better 3D tricks for 2D planes, and as all backgrounds in PoE are 2D planes, and DX10 and 11 offer better dynamic light effects and control for those effects. And it should be remembered that when we speak that DX10+ is better in something that don't mean that DX9 can't necessary do it or that you can't make game look as good with DX9, but that developers need to spend less time to get same level effects, which mean that they can use that saved time to do other content in the game.

What version of windows OS will Pillars run on?
If game uses DX9 and is 32 bit, then Windows XP or newer If game uses DX10 then Windows Vista or newer if game uses DX11 then Windows 7 or newer if game uses DX12 then Windows 8.1 Update or newer But probably game will not have official support for Windows XP even if it works in it as Microsoft will stop all support for it before PoE is released. I think it is high probability that Obsidian will not use DX9 in PoE as newer versions of DX are much better in most things that they want to do in PoE, so my bet would be at least Vista or newer Windows. Game will as work (Mac) OS X, but you probably need at least Snow Leopard (10.6) And it will at least work also in Steam OS and other up-to-date Debian Linux based distros.

Armour & weapon designs (part V).
- Possible Alpha-ish PoE UI screencap
Top left is good place for most often used UI element in countries that use left-to-right-up-to-down writing, because people have internalized, because of reading, from young age that new things start from top-left corner. Which is also why one shouldn't put UI elements there if they aren't meant to be looked constantly, but instead of bottom bar which is last place where most people look, making UI HUD to be much less obtrusive, but still being easy to access. And for most people that use mouse with their right hand bottom-left corner is easiest and fastest place move cursor (which is why it is default location for start menu button in Windows for example) . So bottom-left corner is much better place for character icons if their main use in game is to select characters, and top-left corner is best place for them if their main purpose is to convey information for the player.- Possible Alpha-ish PoE UI screencap
Any screenie?- Unity v5, any plans to use it?
Unity 5 seems to fix many bottlenecks that previous versions have and which have probably been cause for most of the problems that have caused games uses hardware in ways that isn't optimal in many cases.- Possible Alpha-ish PoE UI screencap
It looks like that there is three UI element's in use (Character portraits, control panel and log). As their plan is to make game support different resolutions, I would guess, if they go with solid bar design, that they will keep UI elements separate even in final design and they will fill the caps between elements with background or overlay art, which will make making UI look good and usable in different resolution easier, than going with one element design and it also gives much more flexibility during testing as can move, add and remove UI elements with much more ease.- "United States' claims at being a democracy seriously threatened"
It isn't reliable enough in general level so that it could be used as source for scientific papers, as most of it's articles can be edited by anybody and more often than not validity of sources that people post in articles aren't checked, which can and have lead in circle references, where Wikipedia article references article that references Wikipedia article. And its article writers have often bad habit to forget to give credit for original writers and studies. is essentially what we said already. however, am gonna disagree with you that wikipedia is an ok source to cite, under any circumstances. recall our statement, "anybody who cites wikipedia..." that were how we phrased our condemnation. if you is complete oblivious and need a starting point from which to start, we don't begrudge the use of wiki. that being said, to cite wiki is... laughable. "some guy on the bio social forum" "i read it while on craigslist" "it was on a flier i was handed outside a starbucks" if the above were your citations, folks would laugh, but wiki somehow gets a pass even though it is no more valid. HA! Good Fun! ps am thinking folks is getting lost on liberty more than democracy, but if they can't find it themselves, there won't be no learning. That is true and I would probably not written that post if I haven't already started to write it before you posted your message about the subject. I must disagree with you in using Wikipedia as source for terms, as when you use Wikipedia as source for definition of well known terms, everybody can go and check definition from Wikipedia by themselves and read their definition and their possible explanations. It is not any different than using any other encyclopedia (or actually any other source) as your source for definition of term, but it's more broadly available and easier to access than most other sources you could use and it's mostly neutral. Especially in conversation where people seem to have multiple definitions for term, I definitely think that using Wikipedia as source for definition of term is OK thing to do, as then people at least can use same definition, which everybody can easily check, even if it's insufficient or it differs from definitions of term in other sources, and people can talk subject on hand using with same definition of term instead of fighting with each other how term should be defined, as at the end of the day it don't really matter how term is actually defined if everybody that participates in conversation however have same definition for it. But using Wikipedia as source becomes much trickier and thing that is not generally recommendable thing to do when one uses it as source for subjects which factualness actually matter.- "United States' claims at being a democracy seriously threatened"

"Democracy is a form of government in which all eligible citizens participate equally—either directly or indirectly through elected representatives—in the proposal, development, and creation of laws. It encompasses social, religious, cultural, ethnic and racial equality, justice, liberty and fraternity. The term originates from the Greek δημοκρατία (dēmokratía) "rule of the people", which was coined from δῆμος (dêmos) "people" and κράτος (kratos) "power" or "rule" in the 5th century BCE to denote the political systems then existing in Greek city-states, notably Athens; the term is an antonym to ἀριστοκρατία (aristokratia) "rule of an elite". While theoretically these definitions are in opposition, in practice the distinction has been blurred historically. The political system of Classical Athens, for example, granted democratic citizenship to an elite class of free men and excluded slaves and women from political participation. In virtually all democratic governments throughout ancient and modern history, democratic citizenship consisted of an elite class until full enfranchisement was won for all adult citizens in most modern democracies through the suffrage movements of the 19th and 20th centuries. The English word dates to the 16th century, from the older Middle French and Middle Latin equivalents. Democracy contrasts with forms of government where power is either held by one person, as in a monarchy, or where power is held by a small number of individuals, as in an oligarchy. Nevertheless, these oppositions, inherited from Greek philosophy, are now ambiguous because contemporary governments have mixed democratic, oligarchic, and monarchic elements. Karl Popper defined democracy in contrast to dictatorship or tyranny, thus focusing on opportunities for the people to control their leaders and to oust them without the need for a revolution. Several variants of democracy exist, but there are two basic forms, both of which concern how the whole body of all eligible citizens executes its will. One form of democracy is direct democracy, in which all eligible citizens have direct and active participation in the decision making of the government. In most modern democracies, the whole body of all eligible citizens remain the sovereign power but political power is exercised indirectly through elected representatives; this is called representative democracy or democratic republic. The concept of representative democracy arose largely from ideas and institutions that developed during the European Middle Ages, the Reformation, the Age of Enlightenment, and the American and French Revolutions." - Wikipedia - Possible Alpha-ish PoE UI screencap
