  1. I don't think so. It will encourage different approaches. There will probably be other benefits to fights as well, like loot.
  2. Yeah, all of the character animations are alpha and will be receiving more polish later in development. Ok he didn't say "pre alpha" but this gives the impression that they are still working on the animations.
  3. I really don't see how it will change things that much, if at all.
  4. Well I'm sure that there will be quests associated with the mega-dungeon or objectives of some sort. Something as simple as find out the secrets of Od Nua.
  5. This has been talked about many times. Sawyer said that animations are in pre-alpha. That is, not even implemented in the FIRST gameplay trailer that they've released.
  6. Is that confirmed? If so Sawyer slipped that under the radar. A lot of us hate the idea. It's been known for quite some time. Most of the exp you got in BG2 came from completing quests, or sections of quests. I'd rather the game be designed around not grinding, I hate grinding.
  7. Honestly why do people care about ruined arches that should a few less stones maybe just maybe.
  8. Not that I care either way, and I like it, but honesty time: did you come up with that solely to address this issue? (I like the attention to detail though) The concept of adra was developed early on as a not-quite magical material that had some interesting properties. I like being able to have "impossible" structures, but I don't like hand-waving their impossibility away. I don't really think it's impossible either way, those blocks aren't very large in the first place. Either way, screw the haters, it is what it is so tell them to shove off.
  9. Wasteland 2 is very close to being finished what are you talking about? While I too would like Inxile and Obsidian to become self-sufficient, I'm not sure one game will do that. Hopefully after PoE is released and is successful Obsidian can move more towards that model.
  10. Just as an aside, yes it is. There are certain things mechanically that happen behind the scenes. No you can't summon help... but you also can't be invaded. Additionally mobs actually do less damage to you when you are in undead form. It isn't "huge" but it is there. I find solo 9 out of 10 times is easier. Save for maybe Ornstein and Smough. I don't buy it. Show me the proof that mobs do less damage. Also, how is solo easier than with another person and/or an NPC like Solaire? That's just illogical.
  11. HAHAHA wow. Are you serious? Scorcese is adored by hollywood. That won't be why either won't win if they don't.
  12. Most likely not. The date on kickstarter is really a preliminary date that they have to enter before the kickstarter begins.
  13. That's a good point. There is a known risk going into these kickstarters. You have to look into the company's track record and if there is none there is always that risk.
  14. It'll show both it seems like. Also I feel like this, "But in such a modern gaming environment," is silly. What does that have to do with anything? What is more modern or less modern about having attributes?
  15. FTL BAZINGA! More seriously, I think that Shadowrun Returns was decent, but yes short and linear. Hopefully Dragonfall is better. Banner Saga seems to have turned out ok. As for Broken Age, that looks terrible to me. I think PoE is turning out incredibly well and will be the highest quality release from kickstarter so far. People complaining about them seeking additional funding really make me angry in this light.
  16. Awesome thank you. I remember when people criticized the plants blowing in the wind because they didn't all move at the same time. It's like have you ever watched plants blowing in the wind, especially light winds? Anyways thanks for the information about that chinese mortar, that was something I was trying to find last night, because I knew it couldn't be true that all mortar couldn't last for centuries. I think that this was probably some kind of watchtower or castle and that the debris has been cleared in the past.
  17. Definitely easier for me. Going human opened you up to invaders... most likely an invader min-maxed perfectly to crush things at that level range. My anxiety levels are always a bit higher while in human form especially when you're making a corpse boss/run as you'll lose everything on that body if an invader kills you. Well yes of course you get invaders in human form, but that doesn't make the game itself harder, especially boss fights obviously. You don't get any stat bonuses in undead form or anything like that.
  18. I already said that. Point is it doesn't look as good of an attribute as the others, atm. That was my point. You're still going to have to make tradeoffs right? So you're going to want one or two characters with perception and maybe a good amount of dex, then you'll want one with a high constitution and resolve, etc..
  19. I feel ya, but I don't mind people just addressing little things like that. What gets me is the "well, because the arches aren't perfect, ALL THE ARTWORK IS CRAP AND THE ART CREW CAN SUCK IT! I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN ALL THE SCREENSHOTS, EVER!" mentality. When people come in and judge the whole project and team because of minutiae, that makes me lose a little more faith in humanity. Simple arch questions are perfectly fine. I actually enjoy learning little tidbits, such as whether or not arches would be likely to support themselves like that in a ruin, etc. Fun facts. I think they'd come close to that so it doesn't really matter to me.
  20. You only build one character (unless you plan on actually making adventurer's hall characters). I am not the one who came up with the design goals. The aim is for there to be no dump stats and every attribute useful for every class right ? I am only interested in the game being better. Currently if one of the Recruitable NPCs had a high Perception, I would probably "dump it". Unless you didn't have a party member with high perception.
  21. I sometimes get frustrated with how much you people can criticize the most inconsequential things. Does this bother anyone else?
