Games you own
You'll miss them someday, I know that I have been glad I've kept my hands on things, especially when i need to referance something... The thing with games is, once they've hit budget for a few years you ain't gunna be able to get your hands on it again, unless you're lucky. Unless you plan to keep them for posterity, perhaps to hand onto your descendants or similar, I can't really see the point in keeping games past the point where you are unlikely to play them. I suppose eventually, if kept in good condition, they might fetch a higher price, but then you are still selling them. I'm still holding on Descent to Undermountain, hoping for a playable patch.

Another "best game" listing
How can Half-Life 2 be ranked higher than Half-Life? And why isn't Half-Life #1? I'm not even a FPS fan, but I acknowledge that the game was the biggest thing that's happened in my lifetime of gaming. My first mods ever tried were from the community of Half-Life, way before NWN came out and modding became mainstream. And yes, Oblivion sucks! and I even liked Morrowind to a degree. also, nice to see BG2 get a little love

NWN2 1.06 Beta
OK, this thread I thought was about the new 1.06 beta patch, instead I wasted my time reading one poster who thinks the game is broken whereas every other poster disagrees with him. Jeez, what a waste of time. btw, has anyone worked with software before. My last company we developed a claims management piece of software for insurance companies, and we celebrated when the 1,000 bug was fixed, Who Hoo! That was about two years ago, I bet they're up to two thousand right now. And my new company has so many bugs within their databases, website, and reporting that I have proposed a 2 year plan to get everything fixed! I just laugh (or cry in frustration) when people think it's so easy to release games in bug free states. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but not everyone has the number of developers Blizzard has to work on games, nor the 5 year time lines they get to make sure a game is bug tested for a year before release..

VB.net, C# and MS SQL Server 2005, just because they are so much easier to program with.

NWN2 Interview
The key to this one is ex-employee. Plus bethseda made the site owner (which was a bethseda fan site) of the interview take it down, as it was getting bad press. This was kinda an exception for Bethseda, as it really was done by someone who was no longer with the company.

Icewind Dale Revisited - GameBanshee Feature
I Still think IWD2 was a pretty good game... I played it through I think 3 times. I only played through IWD, once. Anyway, I liked the IWD games.

What are you playing now?
still plugging through NWN2, and believe it or not I'm trying to make a second run through TOEE (I'm at the moat house). The mods make it a little more interesting.

Baldur's Gate - whole series for ten quid
I loved BG1 and 2, but I've tried in the last couple of years to resurrect a game, and I just can't do it. It was amazing in it's time, but I just can't play a game on the ie engine anymore (PST and IWD games included). It's sad, because I want to, but it just doesn't hold that excitement anymore for me.

Gamespot awards NWN2 for Best Story in 2006
Or simplified, after playing it, I'm just in shock at how different it plays compared to Morrowind. It's like they hired some people to make a fantasy fps that appealed to 10 year olds. A total waste of money, imo.

some of them are pretty good, Morrowind was one I listened to quite a bit. And I agree no soundtrack in the US Limited Edition sucks!

NWN2 Discussion Thread
It matters what base class your thinking of? if your a rogue, yes, if your a sorcerer, no, I would take the spells. My first run is with a Halfling Wizard, I have no plans to take a prestige class and miss out on a level of spells. My next run I'll choose something like a Ranger and take a prestige class.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
btw, I just updated to the second patch by Obsidian (Good job, guys!!!!), which gives advice for settings when it comes to graphics.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
16:10 aspect ratio... very odd. LCD monitor mfgs are strange in this regard. 1024x768 is what i'm running, btw. but i'm on a CRT (dell 19"), so the interpolation issues are irrelevant. obviously the NWN2 engine is doing something more than oblivion's. certainly not a low-end system as mine is. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yea, I expected NWN2 to run a lot better, but it doesn't. Hopefully there will be some tweaks to the graphics engine in future updates.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
it should, and i don't know why it won't. though, as noted, 1680x1050 is not a standard 4:3 aspect ratio. maybe it is because the game is trying to force 4:3 on top of your native mode? dunno... perhaps the black-bar fall-back is all you can do. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It won't. I can run Oblivion in 1680x1050 on my widescreen lcd perfectly (my monitors native res), and I can run it with NWN2, but the frame rates suck. So, I use 1024 x 768, it's not appealing, but it runs a lot smoother. btw, I have a 7950 GTX, FX-60 and 2 gigs of ram
