  1. That's weird. They are both really similar games. Lots of combat, not much dialogue. Main difference of course is that one is party-based and one is single pc. I think they are both great. Hacve you tried Flamestryke's awesome WIz 8 mod? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, they are, but I enjoy the party based combat a lot more. No I don't know why, because I usually am a mod freak, but I haven't tried Flamestrykes mod.
  2. I actually pulled out an old saved game of Wizardry 8 this week and jumped back in. Oblivion, just couldn't keep my attention for long.
  3. I agree, I b\doubt this will seel well on the PC. But who knows? btw, just realease Dragon Age, that's the only game I am interested in from Bio.
  4. So Hades ran another new user off. So what the count now, over 1,000?
  5. I much prefer Westwood's 2D C&C's above EA "enter whatever location here"'s 3D *C&C in name only* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Considering you only have Generals to look at when talking about EA's C&C, you'll find that there are many, many C&C fans that agree with you. Heck, some don't even consider Generals to be a part of the C&C franchise no matter what the title says. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm still sad Westwood died although I liked Generals, when I finally had a machine that could handle it. Holy crap what a resource hog!
  6. This still ranks in my top 5 games of all time. It was just awesome when it came out. Plus it had a huge mod community; it was my first experience using mods for a game. The ie games, the half life franchise and the command & conquer franchises all rank up with the best in my terms of game enjoyment (historically), at least my experience. ok, back to Oblivion...
  7. I finally broke down and bought Oblivion. And guess what? it feels just like Morrowind *shakes head* As with Morrowind it
  8. Those specs seem kinda low for the graphics card, if people can max out on a GeForce 6800 (which I doubt) there should be a lot of happy people
  9. I've just started Prey. I haven't really formed a opinion yet, but it seems to have potential.
  10. I finally saw Underworld, the DVD extended version. Not bad, I liked it, but not a lot of substance.
  11. wow, it sounds like a lot of work has gone into the strongholds. It's like we have a mini RTS in the game, which I don't know if that's a good idea. But regardless I'm excited, as it sounds like fun.
  12. agreed when 3D games started out the blockyness of the games were ugly and 2D games were better looking. Nowadays that isn't the case anymore 3D looks pretty damn good. btw, Van Buren was in 3D and it looked like the ie games or the fallouts. Someone can easily make a 3D version of the ie games, it's just no one is willing.
  13. Another team bites the dust to the US. LONDON -- English Premier League team Aston Villa agreed to a $118.8 million takeover Monday by a group led by Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner. Lerner's group, Reform Acquisitions Ltd., offered $10.37 per Aston Villa share, the principals involved in the deal announced to the London Stock Exchange. That represents a premium of about 47 percent over the closing price on Sept. 16, 2005, the last day before the beginning of the offer period. "It is my belief and the basis for my bid to acquire Aston Villa Football Club that it can compete at the highest level within the Premiership and in Europe," Lerner said. Lerner, former chairman of credit card company MBNA, would be the second U.S. National Football League owner to buy a Premier League club. Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Malcolm Glazer purchased Manchester United in 2005, sparking protests by fans worried Glazer would be more devoted to making money than to winning. The board of Aston Villa recommended the transaction to shareholders, and said owners of 56.85 percent of shares had already committed to the deal. Villa chairman Doug Ellis, who has owned the club since 1982 and has a 39 percent stake, put the club up for sale a year ago. "It has been my sincere pleasure to have been involved with Aston Villa these many years, both as chairman and as a substantial shareholder," Ellis said. "The club has been an enormous and immensely enjoyable part of my life."
  14. The d&d spell system is fair at mid-levels. Some of the spells are really powerful, so there is no reason one should have unlimited use of them. In Wizardry 8 it makes sense to have mana because all of the spells are not that powerful, and in Sacred weapon feats are the same as magic, so everyone is using them all the time and they are equal in damage (for the most part). But in d&d spells are not equal to fighting feats. Imagine casting unlimited Wail of the Banshee or Heal in IWDII with using mana potions. It would be ridiculous and take the fun right out of the game. The problem is at low levels people can't stand only being allowed 3 spells for an entire day, which I understand. But I
  15. collecting books is probably my number 1 hobby. A failing investment but it's fun. Also reading, working out, gaming, movies, web development, sports - football, baseball basketball, and music. I like to see live concerts a lot.
  16. actually I'm considering installing win98 on a secondary machine just so I can play C&C: Red Alert 2.
  17. that looks pretty good. And for me The Shawshank Redemption, again. It's just a great story, with great acting. Nothing special, but it's a movie that moves the viewer. I love watching this every so often.
  18. I for one would love to see a niche title. With the attention to detail Blizzard does it would be great. But they would never have the balls to do it.
  19. lol, I'm actually playing the OC tonight. I've only played it once and I never was one who played modules, so it's kinda fun playing NWN again after a year on the shelves. Chapter 2 right now and my Wizard/Palemaster struggles a little, but not bad.
  20. you need to loosen up Taks, how about reading Christopher Moore's 'A Dirty Job', that should cheer you up. btw, I just started The Great Gatsby last night. I've never read it *shrug* but it
  21. I belive it's a baseball book, there was a pretty good movie made from it.
