  1. I read a post earlier in this thread that mentions a combat mod of some sort? Anyways, if it doesn't play in XP then I can cross that one off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea I wouldn
  2. I can't find them, still. It seems wierd hearing/seeing/watching Josh and Feargus in person. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> look at the screen shots, the first one I think it has the spell icons on the bottom of the screen shot.
  3. I actually find this to be similar in style to a IWD game. The game is in a FPS mode is the only difference, big difference though. Anyway, this was a surprising game for me, and I would think if you older school games you might get hooked by this one. I did and played it through (about an 80 hr game) three times. The only thing is go to the forums and find the combat speed up mod, you really need it.
  4. I like the spell menu, It looks a lot easier to use.
  5. that's too bad I've always been a fan of Asus motherboards, and they've always worked great. But 've never tried a graphics card from them... If it's any consolation, I was looking at reviews on the 7900GTX and one person was complaining that it was locking up and overheating like crazy, and everyone else was saying theirs ran smooth as silk. Hopefully a new card will do ya better.
  6. There are about 20 contractors involved in the story design, coding, and audiovisuals. If it was just down to Wes and me to make a game, it would probably look like Rogue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cool
  7. Actually that would be a good analogy. Fantasy settings, jeans, or whatever if. I
  8. I find the FR's comfortable. It's not that exciting, but I've played plenty of games in the setting and have become knowledgeable of the setting. So I enjoy the setting because of the familiarity.
  9. I'll watch and see. I did think Compton's Kelsey npc was the best one ever done. It really wasn't far off from the work Bioware did. I'm curious as to the size of their team, is it just Compton and weimer, or do they have like 10 people working on it?
  10. If Atari is going down the best thing for NWN2 is to get a new publisher before release. I would hate to see Obsidian getting screwed on royalties from the game. Hopefully they can release NWN2 with a publisher, who has cash, and will support the game from the start and into the following years. btw, wow, this is big news!
  11. I would upgrade and then go for a monitor down the road. They are getting cheaper And, try looking at some cheaper monitors. This is the one I just bought. But as mentioned in a review you need a good machine to take advantage of the monitor. linky reviews review 1 review 2 it's pretty much a gaming monitor, better are out there, but its real fast. You also loser an inch but its cheaper
  12. might be the reason as to why you couldn't edit your post. j/k
  13. This is a game I will definetly wait until after release and see what people think. I've really never been impressed with this title, but if people say its good after playing it, then I'll pick it up.
  14. Sadly after my defending Atari for pulling the plug on NWN, I am playing the NWN OC right now. I
  15. I agree Obsidian may be doing ok, but they do not have the funds Bioware does, heck not many companies do. To match the support Bioware did would be one heck of a feat. But it still remains to be seen, we have no idea how long NWN2 will get supported by Obsidian/Atari. In 4 years it still might be getting supported, who knows? If NWN2 brings in a ton of money, maybe it
  16. from the dla news post This is such a far stretch of the imagination its funny. BIS released a free game in TotL after the complaints of HoW, and they released the movie upgrade for kotor 2, which LucasArts didn
  17. This one is hilarious it goes from 30 hour to 100 hours. lol I just hope he is right and everyobne else is wrong.
  18. It matters what game you are talking about NWN had staffs of resurrection everywhere so it made dying meaningless. Bg1 had expensive temples where one could resurrect. you had to carry back your companions equipment and spend all of your loot just to resurrect someone. toee is similar there was one resurrection wand but it was so expensive i never bought it and played the game without resurrection. NWN kinda took the fun out of getting a party member killed, as it was too easy to resurrect your companion.
  19. This was taken from a authors forum I visit, I tried to locate a link on the bbc and couldn't find one. But I assume this is true, as it was posted in all seriousness. Jews to wear badges IDing them in public in Iran, just like in Nazi Germany Posted by *removed* on 5/19/2006, 9:35 am Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims. "This is reminiscent of the Holocaust," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. "Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis." Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical "standard Islamic garments." The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims. Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth. "There's no reason to believe they won't pass this," said Rabbi Hier. "It will certainly pass unless there's some sort of international outcry over this." Bernie Farber, the chief executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, said he was "stunned" by the measure. "We thought this had gone the way of the dodo bird, but clearly in Iran everything old and bad is new again," he said. "It's state-sponsored religious discrimination." Ali Behroozian, an Iranian exile living in Toronto, said the law could come into force as early as next year. It would make religious minorities immediately identifiable and allow Muslims to avoid contact with non-Muslims. Mr. Behroozian said it will make life even more difficult for Iran's small pockets of Jewish, Christian and other religious minorities -- the country is overwhelmingly Shi'ite Muslim. "They have all been persecuted for a while, but these new dress rules are going to make things worse for them," he said. The new law was drafted two years ago, but was stuck in the Iranian parliament until recently when it was revived at the behest of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. A spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa refused to comment on the measures. "This is nothing to do with anything here," said a press secretary who identified himself as Mr. Gharmani. "We are not here to answer such questions." The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has written to Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, protesting the Iranian law and calling on the international community to bring pressure on Iran to drop the measure. "The world should not ignore this," said Rabbi Hier. "The world ignored Hitler for many years -- he was dismissed as a demagogue, they said he'd never come to power -- and we were all wrong." Mr. Farber said Canada and other nations should take action to isolate Mr. Ahmadinejad in light of the new law, which he called "chilling," and his previous string of anti-Semitic statements. "There are some very frightening parallels here," he said. "It's time to start considering how we're going to deal with this person." Mr. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly described the Holocaust as a myth and earlier this year announced Iran would host a conference to re-examine the history of the Nazis' "Final Solution." He has caused international outrage by publicly calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map." Iran does not yet have nuclear weapons, but Tehran believed by Western nations to be developing its own nuclear military capability, in defiance of international protocols and peace treaties. The United States, France and Israel accuse Iran of using a civilian nuclear program to secretly build a weapon. Iran denies this, saying its program is confined to generating electricity.
  20. It's sad to hear some of his responses concerning crpg's, but it's expected. Also I'm glad to see an interview with some different questions, rather than the same how is the toolset, et cetera... Good job
  21. NWN has been gathering dust for a looooong time, but 20 hours in a hack n' slash module sounds pretty good.
  22. It sounds and looks good from their site, hopefully it's good If so, I'll pick it up.
