  1. It's not a fashion statement, it turns purple in the presence of certain gases in the praxis range, which he's allergic to.
  2. Picture of the guy:
  3. I hear they're also planning on using Twin Ion Engines to replace the old atlas rockets.
  4. Democracy in action. Very successful state in that regard.
  5. When I first discovered these animals a few months ago I was amused to find out according to catholicism the capybara is a type of fish.
  6. In the future we'll probably be able to extract all the information we want out with a needle, and reprogram the subject to be happy and productive citizen.
  7. You know in other news a christian working for british airways lost her appeal for not being allowed to openly wear a cross around her neck at work.
  8. Not everyone has the same vision of heaven.
  9. Sounds like more research is needed.
  10. I'm sure SIS never break international law either. It ain't cheating unless you get caught, I'm sure that's on their crest.
  11. It was true, that's the point you muppet. Not all TV is fiction. Maybe in the States. edit: and yeah quite frankly even if the chance was only 1 in a 1000, sod that. I'd rather lose my phone and be able to walk.
  12. Also what sort of example are we setting to everyone else. That it's okay to go carrying around knives to protect yourself - if they're only used in defense? That's exactly what police have tried so desperately to campaign against, because it's utterly foolish. There's a TV advert of some youth on a bus that thought like that, he was obviously disarmed and the knife was stabbed into him by his attacker. Now he's paralysed neck down, for defending himself.
  13. They come in different sizes and styles: And effectively they're the scale of a sword in the hands of a child.
  14. Let's cut the BS here, this is about thinking or evidently in some minds knowing Sikhs are superior to all of us. They're more honourable and trustworthy. They should be allowed to carry around knives because we can rest in piece knowing they won't be stabbing anyone. More importantly it's about admitting our own culture is the only culture capable of generating murderers, psycopaths and other deviants. Rubbish. We have good common sense laws, and no real reason to change or make exception to them.
  15. True... true. Though millions of non sikhs have died for this country. I guess the issue's not about who's died for what, but should we allow children to carry around knives, and assume they're responsible to do so. Originally this issue came up because faith schools were told it was up to them to decide whether or not pupils could carry around knives. I mean if there's a genuine need here for Sikhs to carry knives to defend others, then we should all be carrying knives. Personally I think that's a bad idea, and luckily the law agrees with me. Is the subtext here that Sikhs are to be trusted above the average guy on the street? If I had to bet on it then I'd probably do so, but then we're effectively saying nobody's equal under the law - a very slippery slope. I take your point, but then if we're out to protect our culture, why give in to others? We never needed to carry knives before. Do we have to bend over backwards to every religion? What's more important, preserving common sense or appeasing a few bearded people that happen to believe in nonsense (hey but good luck to them)? If it's no big deal for them to carry knives, then I say maybe it's no big deal for them not to.
  16. No I'm sorry, no knives. If that offends you, practice your religion elsewhere.
  17. In other news, Turkish girl buried alive for talking to boys Link
  18. I'd feel job secure.
  19. There's always been weird minority protest against D&D since its beginnings, usually by christians afraid of their kids playing against demons blah blah blah yawn zzz.

Goes to show the global economy is doing just fine if people can get hyped over this. Talk about disposable income.
  21. All I'm getting from this thread is nobody milks cows for the fun and pleasure of it.
  22. Hmm so what you're saying is we should settle things with a boxing match?
  23. Most interesting experiment comparing the sexes I saw was an audience all asked to draw pictures of a bicycle - a very unisex machine imo, in fact it was often said in Victorian times it helped women gain independance by allowing them extra freedom to travel. But I digress. Each member of the audience drew a picture of a bicycle and when the pictures were collected and analysed they found all the men drew pictures depicting a functional machine, chain - cranks - diamond frame. The women on the other hand failed to do this, their bicycles were not functional, however all the women drew their bicycles with a drawing of someone riding them - where as only one man did this.
  24. Hmm, this might explain the restricted vocabularly of the average gamer. Also I like this opening line: "There is broad acceptance of a link between brain size and intelligence." Concerning brain size, on average women have smaller brains. Given the topic's study seems built on the premise brain size is linked to intelligence, would I be right in thinking it has also inadvertently concluded all women are intellectually inferior to their male counterparts? Interesting. Edit: No it's better than that: "But that's no excuse for saying I'm not going to bother doing my homework. The person born with the large brain can easily be outstripped by someone with a smaller brain. No matter what your brain size is, it's what you do with it that counts. Just remember the hare and the tortoise." All women are tortoises. Scientific fact.
  25. Probably a bit OTT to flee. Strong aftershocks are the norm from what little I remember of school geography.
