  1. SPECIAL is turn based with action points or it is not SPECIAL. Nuff said! :angry: (Waiting for reply from Sp and the start of the TB vs RT war )
  2. A SPECIAL based game would be fun to play, even if it was fantacy , I think. But a FO fan as I'm I would prefer it in SF games. As for knowing mosters, there is quite different monsters in a lot of the settings. Not a orc as far as the eye can see in Darksun as an example, but plenty of unknown ones for those that never played the setting. Ravenloft had unique monsters that you could not just run over to and hack to pieces, but needed special story and adventure to even get to know how it could be destroyed (liked the horror setting of it as well). Al-quadin was made like the old stories of alladin and Sinibad. Birthright was also different in that it involved intrigue and building of empires as well as linking adventures to those. Even some of the setting to old DD (not to be confused with DD3.0 ) had quite interesting settings like the hollowed world and redcoast (all the countries actualy had a theme). Forgotten Realm in the usual setting (there is a lot of that world that never been used for games) just seam stale right now. It has been done so many times now.
  3. Well if they made the game to follow DD3.5 in options of character creation you can have a very different character depending on how you build it, and thereby different challange in the game. Different game mechanisms will hardly make a good game. It is the story, and if it is entertaining, that make me play through a game. But then on the other hand most games have been fight yourself to the big boss, and fight to death. In other word big Hp or powerfull spells or die. As for settings I realy think they make the difference. I must admit that I have become tired of all these Forgottenrealm games.

  7. Only if the game they scrap might have a future. Somhow I would not be supprised if they, despite that FOBoS failed, made FOBoS2.
  8. You should recieve different NPCs during game if you join darkside. But your action should be able to move your NPC a category in the game (dark to grey, light to grey and grey to either light or dark). If you pick up dogooders as dark master they should either turn (leave the light side) or leave you. There is no way a mother Teresa NPC would gladly follow a massmurdering darkmaster without first shanging point of view.
  9. It's sad, but we probably never will see FO3 as things are now, despite that they had managed to make a lot of the game when IP pulled the plug.
  10. To Volourn about pacifism in FO/FO2. If you set out to be it, you could be a pacifist and sneak or talk people down in FO. Never managed to talk down the president in FO2, but otherwise I could sthelth/talk my way though most things in the game except random encounters (which you could avoid if you ran to edge of encounter fast enough, if I remember it right). Though with a few NPC it is usualy easier to gun your way though random encounters. Some none figher optional ways to finish the game would be nice if they are making a CRPG.

    Rift looked like a very unbalanced game from what I have read about it so far. When you look at the different character professions avilable together with races it does not even try to be balanced. Liked the background story of it though.
  12. Darkside story need better story then in KotOR. When I went through it second time to try darkside it was same as lightside untill last planet. I had what must one of the worst fragging bastiches that ever walked the SW universe, and I could neither turn any of the lightside Jedis to the dark side or even get the council anything more then slightly vorried (and that with a Jedi to keep an eye on him while he pushed those two families to kill each other off)!!!! Hell, he took time to screw up the life of anyone that crossed his path, and genereally be a really evil archtype darkmaster. But he could not even get those sith student to be afraid of him, despite that he slaughtered the old master and his apprentice. I sort of wonder what chance that they thought they had to defeat him. Well, at least he could use his force power to puch big Z to kill Mission, but that was about one of the few realy evil options that what open for him. If there is to be an option of joining the darkside it need a better story that is not the same up to the last moments. There should always be consquences for our actions.
  13. Think it is better to keep the combat like it was, but make ranged fire more dangerous. It was rediculus that it generaly was better to equip melee weapons with the fighter types NPC then using large ranged weapons. A Jedi would of course still be good in melee with lightsabres that can reflect blasters. If they could make the fighting animations a bit more dynamic it would be great.
  14. KotOR2 would definitly need more options for the PC creation. The possibility to be any of the classes and stay that class through the game. Depending on your choice of character the story should be different from start. The look and race of character should be given wider range.... Not all soldiers are big and muscular, no matter if default stats are with high strenght. We need more faces to choose from as well, and allow easy importing of skins for characters so fanbase can allow us even more choices. In this same area we need a lot customization of weapon and armor. The upgrade idea of KotOR was great, but did not go far enough. Allow us to keep ugrading the weapon with different parts to give different effect, just like light sabres was upgradable with different crystals. Allow us to upgrade the ship and any swooper we have in the game as well. When it come to clothing........PLEASE allow us good looking clothing no matter what side we should choose (hated that any lightside clothing made the character look like a geek nefherder or something). Then there is the need of more uses of skills and more options in finishing the game, so depending on what profession you have there will be ways to finish the main quest (I would not like to try to finish KotOR with a pure Scout ). The story definitly need more unrelated longer mini quest to entertain those that dislike those card/swooper minigames. In short we need a bigger RP/fighting/stealth part of the game. And I mean a lot bigger.
  15. Se no reason why you can't join in in the IP bashing that been going on since november last year. Join in, everybody except ShadowPalladin have. Anyway, I sure hope that Obsidian will be making great CRPG in the coming future.

  18. Fallout : Brotherhood of Steel, a console game for the XBox and Playstation 2. It's a poorly conceived title where the only similarity with the original Fallout games is name and some post apocalytpic elements. It's not selling that great either. ah, for a moment there i thought it had something to do with porn It probably have more to do with porn then FO, with vibrating controls at "ehem"-scenes.
  19. Nah, they are evil because they fired the crew working on FO3, instead of fireing Chuck and co when they brought up the idea of FOBoS.
  20. I think it worked OK after the patch, not that it fixed the problem with allowing better customization of characters look (like skincolour ).
  21. Seeing how Greyhawk is now the default setting of D&D, i'd be wise to say many many people play it and just dont realize it. And Living Greyhawk f***ing owns faces. Down with Forgotten Realms! ToEE was good because it was the basis of D&D, dungeons, loot and monsters, which is what the intial design of Greyhawk was, too. Concidering that most suppliments thats been done is for Forgotten realm, from offical channals that is, I think even putting the greyhawk gods in the PH was kind of strange. I think they wanted to put some life back in that setting to sell more suppliments, but that it did not work out very well. And now they are going to make a new world that they want us to buy, to increase sales.

  25. You might feel European. Congratulations. However, you are in a factually statistical minority. One day that might change, in which case I will simply decamp elsewhere. I'm quite smitten with the Czech Republic, personally. Charming people. Or New England. Ditto. Seeing as you feel European, and, natch therefore support by default the sort of political system that makes the Borgias seem a model of upright and decent governance then you'll excuse me for not taking your opinion of my hometown particularly seriously. Troll. It is no problem that most British don't feel very European..... The rest of us Europeans don't feel very Brittish, so it even out things.
