  1. Leafs have a great chance this year. No time for their usual second half collapse!
  2. Looks like we've got a 48 game season.
  3. Hurray! Finally I'll have something to watch on saturday nights again!
  4. I spent the last 30 minutes filling out an application form for a second time because I didn't notice the timer at the top of the page telling me how long I had before the session timed out the first go around. At least I had half of the questions typed out in a txt file so I only had to copy and paste those answer rather than trying to remember it all from scratch.
  5. What would you consider to be fairly short? Provided you can get a legendary class mod and a good cooldown relic you can get it down to around 26 seconds, but that does require you to beat Terramorphous. With just the 20% cooler skill you get down to 42 seconds.
  6. Back to my Civilization game. The Islamic Roman Empire currently has 5 cities. Rome, Antium, Cumae, something I don't recall and Hong Kong. Hong Kong has now switched hands 4 times. They were initially conquered by the Germans and several turns later were taken by Roman Legions. As my legions pushed west into Germany proper I was knocking on the doors to Berlin when Greece declared war on me and liberated Hong Kong before retreating. Hong Kong was severely pissed off that I hadn't liberated them, but that was soon solved by a good reconquering. My Legions are back in Germany though they are starting to stall. Also, you know something has gone wrong when Montezuma is the only other civilization that actually likes you. Thankfully he's sitting in first place so at least I have a strong ally. >_>
  7. Time for a Pidesco or TrueNeutral death to random encounter on the way to Umar.
  8. Updated Death Count: Pidesco: 2 (Random encounter slaver, De'Arnise basement Giant Troll) TrueNeutral: 2 (Random encounter slaver, Tanor the Hatchetman in sewers) Azure: 1 (Greater Air Elemental) Gorth: 1 (Planar Prison Warden) Nepenthe: 1 (Greater Air Elemental) I think people are screwed either way. Most of the hills quest line is pretty easy, but don't forget about Thaxll'ssillyia.
  9. 2 hours a day, 5 days a week = 10 hours of gaming a week (not counting extra weekend time) most games are 40 hours or less to play (with shooters and action games usually being only 10 hours, though some rpg's can go as high as 100+) so i average about 15 games a year Really? That's not that much time at all is it? Pretty reasonable actually. Especially considering how much time some kids spend playing games. I don't know what you're implying there but my 50 hours of Civilization 5 in the past 2 weeks is a perfectly normal amount of playtime I tell you!
  10. That's what the cloak of the sewers is for! Shapechange to troll for regen!
  11. I think everyone needs to apply as something other than a Cleric until Tigranes learns how to not get them killed all the time.
  12. Excellent. Much easier to follow along now. And Calax is back at the bottom of the queue.
  13. Greater Wolfweres are the ones with the absolutely insane regeneration rates. Once again the party cleric bites the dust. What's your problem with clerics Tigranes? That was actual Calax's third death. He died twice in the De'Arnise stronghold. Once to a spirit troll on the first level and once to Tor'gal himself. TrueNeutral is now at 2 deaths along with Pidesco.
  14. Quiet you! It's fine! There are no quality problems with my OS drive! *knock on wood* I bought it before all the information about their reliability came out.
  15. Hell March is definitely the iconic RA1 track, but I've always been partial to Vector. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy01FLVmxPo However if we are going with C&C tracks, I've gotten give props to Act on Instinct. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4AUY-v1nsE
  16. "Older" pc? Deraldin am cry. Changes since I last posted in here are in bold. SSD was picked up as an OS drive during a grand opening sale. I snagged 2 of them for $100 each which was a considerable savings at the time. Don't remember when I picked up the 1TB. The 4870 was mentioned before, but I never updated the list. My old OCZ ram crapped out on me. I'm not entirely sure when but I think my problems with source engine games have dramatically decreased since the replacement. I've had those problems for years, but they only happened in source engine and nowhere else. My blue screens seem to have disappeared after the swap as well. >_> I only spotted 3 worse computers since my last post in here and 2 of those were laptops so it looks like I've reclaimed my title of "Deraldin of the Damned System".
  17. Updated Death Count: Calax: 2 (De'Arnise 1st floor Spirit Troll, Tor'Gal) Pidesco: 2 (Random encounter slaver, De'Arnise basement Giant Troll) TrueNeutral: 1 (Random encounter slaver) Gorth, Nepenthe: 0 Excellent, excellent! Hmm. We have a cleric and a fighter/mage on the cusp of perma death. The next two characters in the queue are a dagger wielding kensai and another cleric. Also, just wanted to quote this so no one forgets. :D
  18. Nah, Gandhi is still in. Half happiness penalty for people, double penalty for number of cities.
  19. Working on a Cultural/Diplomatic type game for Civilization 5. Playing on an Archipelago map as England. I have 4 cities. I really should have stuck with 3 but I really, really needed that 4th city for the oil/aluminium it had. It's probably killed me chances of a Cultural win, but it's allowed me to survive having Rome declare war on me. Rome is currently sitting pretty at the top of the ladder with America in second and myself in third. A few dozen turns back Rome decided that he'd had enough of my **** now that Persia, Egypt and the Celts were each down to just their capitals leaving me as the next weakest empire. Of course, playing as England on a water based map does have it's advantages. While I don't have a huge army by any means, a good half of it is made up of triple promoted battleships that are specced for naval warfare and can move 9 hexes per turn. When the war started Rome was listed as having the largest army at 520k soldiers while I was in third place with 130k. I think it's been around 30-35 turns now and while my army has grown to 170k soldiers, Rome has had his beaten down to 420k. No one has taken any cities from the other side, although Rome did manage to take 2 city states on the other side of the world that were allied with me and has amusingly gotten his butt kicked by Brussels who is sitting on a 1 hex island with no other land in it's radius. Rome keeps offering peace, but he's asking for all my gold and cities so he gets laughed at. This will be my 4th game in a row of small empires. The next one is definitely going to be a domination victory. Being pushed around by everyone is no fun.
  20. Don't worry about it. Forge ahead. I believe in you guys!
  21. I don't suppose mages have more than one role? How long exactly is the queue? Current wait list is as follows: Azure79 Deraldin Chilloutman BBMorti Oner Enoch Gorth: The Kalah's lamp thing was part of a cut sidequest that was added in as part of the Unfinished Business mod.
  22. It's sucked not having any hockey so far this year. At least the World Juniors are about to start so there will be some hockey, even if the games are at 4am.
  23. What? No Cant this year?! Well my Christmas is ruined. Unfortunately I won't get to spend as much time with the extended family this year as I have in the past but I'll just have to make the most of what I do have. Still have a few final preparations to make before the 25th, but they shouldn't take too long. I know a few people that are working Christmas Eve and Boxing Day this year, although they are doing it by choice and are getting some nice holiday pay for their trouble. I hope everyone else has managed to get at least a few days off to spend time with family and friends to celebrate.
  24. I do! It's more people to explode. I thought Nepenthe was the one that was making people explode?
  25. I now have this image of TrueNeutral hitting the three death limit but somehow appearing several missions later after being mysteriously raised from the dead so that he can hunt down Calax and show him who the real weakling is now that he's hit 14th level.
