I see, so no real good reason then Pretty much.

Ah, that's a pain. I've seen a number of people get caught by stuff like that. I knew that you had to have it enabled for marketplace transactions, but I didn't think it had to be on for trading on your friends list.
-
All you have to do is add someone on steam to your friends list like say this guy. You can then right click on their name in the friends list and select "invite to trade". A new window will pop up for the trade itself. From there it's just drag and drop the items you want to trade.
-
Everything I've got so far I've done just through trading. Trying to find people that have the cards has been half the fun for me so far.
-
I suspect for the same reason that you'll find people spending money on purely cosmetic DLC for games.
-
Haven't spent a dime on them yet, but I'm having fun just trading cards with other people. On that note, if there is anyone here that wants to trade I'm open to offers.

Okay. Calm down. It's only the third wonder that Alexander sniped on you. You're playing Venice. You're being nice and peaceful this time around. You aren't declaring war on everyone that so much as looks at you funny. Just keep calm and you can go warmonger for the next game... Alexander is lucky he's on another continent. I may not have a huge production base, but with all of my trade routes I can afford to buy an army. Maybe I'll get both the Huns and the Ottomans to declare war on him instead. >_>

Finally picked up my copy of Brave New World so I've been playing that most of the afternoon. Figured I'd jump into the new XP as Venice and I have to say, they make a hell of a lot of money. With my 3 cities (capital +2 puppet city states) I'm pulling in around 150 gold per turn. Makes it really easy to just buy almost everything I need. I'm working on building up my stock of great works so that I can take over the world with my trade and tourism industry.

I wouldn't consider 77 a crap score personally. Maybe for the AAA titles (which seem to be on their own scales IMO), but scores in the 70s I find are often "If you're a fan of the genre, there's probably something here for you to enjoy." Which is what I would consider Endless Space. It's not my favourite 4x Space game, but it does some things really well and will definitely satisfy space empire building itches. For anyone still on the fence, I'd second this. Grab the gold edition. It's only an extra buck or two over the base game and it includes the new DLC with the combat additions (formations, fighters/bombers and a couple other things I think) along with a new race, thankfully with their own ship models this time. I'm looking at you Automatons and your ugly ass Craver ship models! I'd agree that it's not the pinnacle of 4X, but it does enough things right that it's worth a look. The most disappointing aspect is the diplomacy with the other races. It has all the options you'd expect, but none of the other AI players feels like they have any distinct personality in the way they act with each other and you. On the other hand, managing your own empire is a snap and the basic game interface is I think very well handled. I have around 150 hours logged on Steam, probably 80-100 of which is in multiplayer. On top of the new paid DLC there have been 4 free DLC packs and the developers have been very good about supporting the game.

My Half Life 2 was the standard double DVD size cardboard box as well. Half Life 2 was 2004 and I know at the very least I was buying the smaller boxes a year earlier with KotOR. I still have all my old large format boxes flattened in the closet, but I'd have to go root through them in order to figure out what the most recent one was. Might have been something like Throne of Bhaal.

I honestly have no idea what the hell Bergevin is thinking after the draft and his free agent signings. He goes and drafts big players with mediocre to moderate skills at the draft because "we need to get bigger and tougher", but then turns around and signs a tiny, aging player going into steep decline in Briere and a another fighter in Parros because we didn't learn anything from signing Laraque. Why did we sign Briere? To replace Ryder? Why didn't we just resign Ryder? Hell, if Bergevin had waited a day or two I would have rather we re-signed Grabovski after he was put on waivers. Briere is terrible on the wing, but is at least competent at center. We have enough centers right now that we can't even get Galchenyuk proper ice time at center to help his development. At least if we had signed Grabovski instead we would have picked up someone who could play tough minutes rather than someone who struggle playing soft minutes. At least we only signed him for 2 years. Maybe we'll be able find someone who wants him at the trade deadline, or next summer. What a terribly disappointing start to free agency for Montreal fans. Is it too late to sign Damien Brunner? At least he has some offensive upside.

I know I didn't. Didn't know I'd missed anything until I heard people talking about it after completing the game. I didn't even consider that Ellie would have her own individual inventory items.

The bonkers sale on Amazon finally got me to buy Borderlands 2, as well as all of its DLC, and even the first Borderlands, for barely $20. Yeah, that is a fantastic deal. Amazon has had some great deals on Borderlands 2. I've had the base game since release, but I picked up the season pass a couple months ago for $10. Didn't expect to get any better than deals than that. I'm still missing out on Krieg right now so the $5 Amazon deal is really tempting.

Tiny Tina got me back into playing Borderlands 2. My Commando had been stuck in TVHM because his weapons were **** for his level. Went through the DLC on playthrough 1 and that helped me gear up a little better so I was finally able to progress in TVHM again. Now I'm level 42 and I found a Legendary Soldier class mod on a loot midget in the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve. It's only +4 to skills, but I think I'll be keeping this one for quite some time.
-
Yup. I'm going through Tiny Tina's DLC right now. I haven't played the game since I beat it when it was first released, so I haven't touched any of the DLC before now. I''m liking what I've played so far though. I like that it shows me people on my friends list playing. I see youuuuu. But we're like 20-30 levels apart. Yeah. It makes it much easier to hop in with a friend when you can see who is playing, who has a spot in their group open and where in the story they are. And sadly, I only have the one character and it's 20 levels higher. I'm thinking of starting a new game after I go through the DLC. Krieg is just sitting there saying "Play me!"

Yeah...even those of us with the Season Pass, the Tina DLC won't be included with it this time I think. So I'll have to get it twice, for hubby and me. Oh well. What? The Tina DLC is that last piece of DLC for the season pass. Krieg was left out of the season pass.

It's a 1 shot kill weapon that you can fire without alerting everyone to your presence and arrows are retrievable around half of the time. Also, for when you get to winter ->
-
Winter = so good. I didn't touch the bow until that section of the game and from that point on it was my favourite weapon. I thought I was doing pretty good at getting all the collectibles and then I checked my stats at the end of the game and I only had half of the items.

The game is really good about interspersing combat areas with non combat areas so that even in the times when there are no enemies around, you still feel like they could show up at any moment. Spoilers for 70% mark:
-
It's beyond just the noise and running. They can literally stand in the middle of an enemy patrol route, have the enemy walk into them and the enemy will completely ignore them. I am eternally grateful for this as otherwise it would be incredibly annoying trying to stealth any area of the game. Having enemies walk into your allies and not respond is a little immersion breaking, but typically it happens right before a fight breaks out and then you get swept up in the combat and forget all about it so it isn't as big a deal as it might be otherwise.

I hate clickers so very much. Around 90% of my deaths so far have come at the hands of clickers. Clickers alone are easy enough to deal with as you can walk right past time as long as you go slow and stay out of their patrol routes, but a clicker or two in the middle of a pack of runners makes them considerably more dangerous as they'll often run up while you are trying to beat back the rest of the horde. I'm about half way through the game so far right now. Bricks are my number one friend. They've saved my life, or at least a bullet's worth of it more times than I can count. Take care of your brick (by throwing it into the face of an enemy) and it will take care of you (by staggering the enemy for 3 seconds allowing you to beat them down). My number two friend is the shotgun. I am terrible at aiming with a controller.

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)

Damn, can't believe I missed this when it was first updated. Gotta make up for lost time! WOO! I killed something! I bet I've already contributed more to XP to the party than I did in all of BG1! Not just the dedicated healbot!
