I haven't heard of him dying in either of those situations. It's when he isn't chosen for anything that he tends to die and it doesn't seem to be tied to upgrades or anything. Time spent killing the final boss doesn't seem to have any effect. Bumped it down to casual and took him out with 5 shots from the widow. Mordin still died. the final time we played end sequence, our final boss battle party were as follows: miranda, grunt, Gromnir. we had jacob lead the normandy survivors back to ship. all team members were loyal. all ship upgrades were complete. no casualties. HA! Good Fun! I replayed the final battle 7 times on various difficulty levels. No effect. His death must be set in stone before the final confrontation. Not sure how far back one would have to go to reset that though. I would expect you would need to restart platform section over, but the autosave is right at the boss and the mission save is back at the Normandy. I went back to before the IFF so I could grab his loyalty quest. Having to play the entire mission over again with a chance to fail anyway would be more of an annoyance than redoing 3 missions.

we had that problem with jack. her shockwave were very effective, but unless we babysat her through battles by choosing her cover position, she rarely survived beyond the time it typical takes to heat up a cup o' coffee. mordin, on the other hand, were far more durable, but we has heard deraldin's complaint from others. mordin also appears to be one o' the characters that dies easily during the end-game battle, regardless o' loyalty or upgrades. I had no problem with him during the game, it's the end game sequence. Trying to go through with as few loyalty missions complete as possible. I've got Legion, Miranda and Jack loyal so I can't just send Mordin back with the crew. I have to fight the final boss and hope that he somehow survives this time. No idea what triggers his death.

Damn you Mordin! Why did you have to die?! Stop randomly dying for no reason!

There definitely is enough credits if you pick up the discounts and get the bonuses for long service. Not sure about non-imported, no discounts.

Looks like Cursed Mountain on the Wii. Except it's also for PC. I was wondering how you were getting such big screenshots. When did the PC version come out?

Correct. Tali's implied a time limit, but I don't think there actually is one.

It depends on what you've done when you go on the mission. You get two missions after the IFF before you lose crew members, so you have enough time to grab Tali and get her or Legion loyal before you start losing crew members. I'm going to end up losing Thane because Garrus is stuck in an infinite loop until I do his mission so I can't grab the weapon upgrade.

Just make sure you take Legion everywhere with you on the Flotilla & Citadel (including Presidium). Do it for teh LOLZ. That is the plan.

I just took Legion to recruit Tali. "YOU HAVE A GETH BEHIND YOU!"

Upgrade it fully and grab the explosive variant then just keep spamming it. In fact, take Legion, Tali and an Engineer Shepard all with exploding drones. Distractions and damage!

I like the orange lightshow. I just can't pass up a good lightshow. It's my one weakness.

If you die, there is no end-game save, AFAIK. So that Shepard's story ends right there, with no sequel to it. That's been the official version the whole time, any reports to the contrary have clearly been wishful thinking (that I kind of share. But I guess replacing 'Shepard' with 'Verner' in the VOs would result in too many lines...) I liked the one suggestion of allowing you to import a dead Shepard save, but then immediately playing the "You have failed!" ending cutscene. "All right! Time for ME3 with Conrad as the hero!" "..." "Reapers fall, everyone dies?"

Agreed. It's a damn good gun, but the lack of ammo is a pretty big drawback. I haven't had the opportunity to use it on Insanity yet, but it does the job fairly well on Hardcore. I'll need to run through with it again to test out some things, but at least with Sniper Rifles, I've found it's not so much the ammo capacity that kills it's use, but how much ammo each clip you pick up returns. Most of the time it's 1 shot/clip which just isn't enough.

Preaching to the choir brother. Not to disappoint you, but the vindicator is the most accurate rifle. BTW anyone knows when the expansion is coming? Does the Vindicator do more damage than the Collector Assault Rifle? If the stats I found were correct, the Vindicator does about twice as much damage per bullet than the Collector Rifle does. 213374U: Nothing in ME2 is even close to being as bad as immunity spam in ME1 on insanity. Yay! Let's give everyone a million HP and then stack 80% damage immunity with regeneration on top of that! Screw you Bioware!

Technically, the SMG is meant to be good against shields, but not so great against armor.. While the Assault Rifle is meant to be equally good against shields , armor, and health. Plus it works better to pick them off at longer range and is a bit more steady if you're ripping off long bursts at the enemy. If I needed to go through armour, I tended to switch over to the hand cannon. That thing ate up armour like it wasn't there.- Mass Effect 2 Discussion
No, it does not replace the SMGs. And with my play style, the extra punch & especially accuracy at mid-long range from the battle rifle was really useful. It doesn't? Hmm, good to know. Still think I'd rather have the snipers over the battle rifle though.- Mass Effect 2 Discussion
My sentinel ended up with the following skills 3 ranks of Throw 4 ranks of Warp (Heavy) 3 ranks of Tech Armor 4 ranks of Overload (Heavy) 2 ranks of Cryo Blast 4 ranks of passive skill (Guardian) 3 ranks of bonus skill (swapped it out several times. Ended with Slam) I was running with Garrus so I upgraded his ammo skill to level 4 and gave it the squad ability. I was playing on Hardcore for what it's worth. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the area abilities might have been a better choice over the heavy versions. Being able to remove the defences from multiple weak enemies and then following up with an area throw or similar to take more enemies out of the fight faster. Will have to test further on another run. Cryo Blast was an afterthought because I didn't have enough points to max anything else out. Except maybe for those that have the Collector Rifle, why would anyone pick up the Assault Rifle skill? Doesn't it replace the SMGs which seemingly never run out of ammo? I grabbed the sniper rifle and never looked back. I didn't need a slight upgrade at medium range when the SMG worked just fine burst firing with the occasional biotic or tech ability thrown in for good measure. - Mass Effect 2 Discussion
